  1. My legs feel like jelly just reading that.
  2. If I know I've got a lot to do on a particular day, like if a colleague is off and I'm covering their work as well as my own, I'll often head into work early (I usually start at 9) and try and get a head start on the day. I never stay past 5 these days though. I did a while back for quite a while, as did others, and all it did was gloss over the fact that we had too much work on. Edit! Might as well mention my mood. Annoyed that I've come down with a bit of a cold so I'm wasting a day's holiday in bed keeping warm, but really looking forward to a meal, drinks and the match later with another day off tomorrow. If it's our last Europa League Thursday for a while, I intend to make the most of it.

    Hobbies.

I keep thinking I should find a proper hobby instead of only: going out drinking/to the match, exercising, browsing the internet all day. Unfortunately then I discovered the forums at Websleuths.com and now I can combine my interest in crime/missing people with browsing the internet all day.
  4. I went to a C of E primary and while it was an excellent school generally, I don't think I even knew other religions existed by the time I'd left, other than what I'd heard outside of school. I'd already made up my mind by then that I wasn't a Christian and now I'm happily atheist.
  5. I think the one that comes through our estate had about 2 weeks off in January and that was it. The tune goes right through me. We've lived here a year and never seen a single person buy anything from it.

    Yo kids..

Woke up on a mate's sofa thinking it was still nice and early, only to remember my watch had to go forward.
  7. Bangladesh. I think I'll have curry for tea.
  8. I inadvertently had a bit of a drink yesterday. Had plans to head to the Metro Centre today. Hoping that's not happening.
  9. My weight keeps ending up as exactly the same figure, down to the ounces. It appeals greatly to my obsessive personality.
  10. We've always recycled anything possible. Our normal bin doesn't even go out every week because it quite often has nothing in it (as Meenzer mentioned though we're also probably borderline alkies). A month or two back the glass caddy thing went missing but we've never bothered to replace it because I've watched the blokes come to collect it and they just pour the glass into the main bin anyway.
  11. I got an iPhone (4S) the other day after having a Sony Ericsson K800i since 2007 and using a borrowed K850i since last year. I've found it surprisingly easy to adapt, I'm not usually very good with phones.

    James Herbert

RIP. I remember trying one of his books once on holiday and not fancying it, then tried again when I got home and really enjoyed it so ended up reading quite a few more.
  13. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, after recording it a few weeks back. Good watch, but expected a little more tbh.

    Cooking

Everything I made was utter shit because I was terrible at it, but it was always stuff made from scratch with basic raw ingredients. Bless my parents for bravely trying some of whatever mess I brought home. I got full marks once for my macaroni cheese and was gutted when my dad said it tasted like vomit. I think the school's in Jarrow, btw. Cooking some sort of spicy chicken & tomato pasta tonight, all the usual peppers, onions, garlic, chillis etc in there. I fancied doing something extravagant and completely different.. but then I remembered I'm only a few days away from payday, so it was back to what was in the cupboards instead. I really need to start branching out with what I make, always revert back to the same old favourites.

That was basically my reaction too. Christ.

The lasagne had to be cooked when the bairn brought it home. So they basically opened jars and did a bit of assembly.

We had to choose Art, Drama, Home Management (cooking & sewing) or Music. I ended up with Art by process of elimination in that I was utterly dreadful at the others and Art seemed more like a doss, but if I'd known I just had to stir in jars of sauce I'd have had an A* easily!
  18. I love the occasional early start on a weekend. It's class reaching about 9am and having done loads with your day already. I'm trying to embrace it because I can never successfully have a lie in anymore, and if I do I feel I've wasted the day. Up at 7am today, been out to the gym and done some food shopping. Wor lad's away in London tonight so I've got the place to myself and the new series of Masterchef to catch up with. [/loser]
  19. It really depends for me, sometimes I'll go out for a quick jog and end up doing 6+ miles at a decent pace and thoroughly enjoying it. Other times I'll set out to do a long run and be absolutely dead 30 seconds later at the bottom of the estate.

The teenage daughter of a lass I work with was cooking lasagne this week so had to take ingredients in. So my workmate came back from the shop with jars of sauces. Is that normal in schools these days? I was shite at cooking in school but it was everything from scratch when I was there. She said her daughter made apple crumble a few weeks ago and had to take in tinned apples, which I didn't even know you could get. I've just been to check in Morrisons today.
  21. Tough draw, but I'm up for it. Just pleased we managed to avoid those pesky English teams.
  22. Aye, plenty of them in my gym too. Leg day always seems like a right chore but I always feel immense after it's over.
