  1. I watched that a year or two ago. Very good.
  2. Last afternoon before a fortnight off and things are going alarmingly well. Plenty of time for something to fuck up, but I feel my good mood will not be ruined.
  3. I survived without getting too soaked during the run itself, then got absolutely fucking drenched waiting for a friend to finish. I'm fairly certain I was on the verge of developing trench foot by the time I got home (via the pub).
  4. This weather can fuck right off for the Great North Run.

I think that would be acceptable. Stottie is my preference though. And smothered in ketchup, of course.

"Cooked" a fish finger sandwich just before. Bread was stottie, naturally.
  7. No one has taken up the offer to show it on TV yet, though apparently some negotiations are still ongoing.

Looks like you're out of luck, CT. They might show repeats on Really but I may have imagined that.

I caught a few episodes quite a while ago but couldn't really get into it. I can't remember why but there was something I didn't like. I think it was the American one I saw.

I don't know, I have Sky. Look through your channels.
  11. I love a dry Riesling. I don't normally like fruit ciders but I tried passionfruit Rekorderlig last night. Not bad just for one, would get a bit sickly drinking a lot of it though.

It's on Watch. New series starts next Sunday.
  13. A friend of mine had a number one digit away from a local takeaway and her parents would often pretend to take an order. It was years back so people always re-dialled the number to ring to chase it up (rather than calling the last number dialled on your mobile) so they'd never get the second call where they complained it hadn't showed. Must've been some very confused and hungry people in the NE12 area.

Masterchef is brilliant TV. The Australian one is the best.
  15. We've never bothered using our landline since the last phone we had plugged in died a death a few years ago. It lasted surprisingly long for something that cost about £3. Couldn't even tell you what our number is as we haven't used the landline since we moved in about a year and a half ago.
  16. Excellent mood. Last night and this morning I was really productive with mundane tasks I had to do (shopping for various household bits and pieces, phone calls, buying cards and a birthday present, fitting in a reasonable length run) so when I finish work at 5 I can get myself straight to the pub where I'm meeting my old man for a few drinks. It's basic stuff but I'm usually terrible for procrastinating and would've ended up having to rush around tonight or before the match tomorrow if I hadn't got my finger out. That said, I've been wide awake since 4.30am and was out for the best part of an hour running from 6am so I'm flagging a bit now.
  17. Mine was also a faceplant. Went out for a few drinks one afternoon which turned into a stupid number of drinks and no food. Couldn't keep my balance at all walking home but for some reason thought taking a shortcut was a great idea (thankfully I wasn't alone). Stumbled and fell face first into the ground, scraped my face and chin and lost my glasses, although was able to pick them up. It was only the next morning I realised one of the fucking lenses had fallen out. I had to go to for an eye test the following day with a stinking hangover then go to work for about 3 days with only one lense in my glasses (and scrapes all across my chin) while I waited for the new ones to be made. These days I still drink as much, I just don't take shortcuts.
  18. Always lived in Newcastle. Parents and grandparents always lived in Newcastle, and as many generations above them as I'm aware of. Technically I was born in Hexham but only because the specialist unit my mam needed was there at the time. Came straight home to Newcastle as soon as I was out of the hospital.
  19. It's all about a mix of diet & exercise for me. I exercise a lot, but that's because on a weekend I can't trust myself not to drink a load of cider and have a 5 course Indians if I fancy one, and this way I don't feel bad about it. During the week I eat a well balanced diet. It's a bit rigid at times, but I need a routine or I fall to pieces. Dug out these the other day. May 2010: July 2013: Excuse the retarded posing. Anyway, everyone always assume I see exercise as more important because I'm constantly at the gym or running etc, but dietary changes were the main thing for me. I was eating random takeaways during the week because I couldn't be bothered to cook, now in the time I would've waited I can easily knock up a healthy meal with meat, potato and veg. Working in an office is a nightmare though. There are always cakes and biscuits on the go. These days when cakes are going around the office, I think I could have a slice of cake.. but I'm not hungry and I'd probably have to run for 20-30 minutes at least to burn off the calories. Therefore I find it easier just not to eat the cake. Not that there's much left over by the time the gannets have descended anyway, but that's beside the point..

    Keeping fit

I'm just a former fatty terrified of going back to those dark days.
  21. Another vote for Frank Skinner here. I tend to save them for long runs though which annoyingly means I've had to stop listening to Absolute Radio 90s on a Saturday morning while I'm getting ready.

    Keeping fit

Gym about 4 times a week (cardio x 2/legs/upper body), usually Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri. Run once a week outside (Sat/Sun), anywhere from about 1.5 to 11 miles. Walk a lot at weekends, anywhere from 3-12 miles in one go. The occasional home workout if the weather's shit and I can't be arsed to go to the gym: kettlebells/skipping
  23. I went for what was probably my most enjoyable run ever this morning. 10.77 miles, comfortable pace, a couple of podcasts to listen to. I hope that's earned me the right to slob about and watch football for the rest of the day. And eat. A lot.
