I used to pass various players regularly on the way to work, don't get a lift anymore though. I went to a wedding party years ago which had a 70s theme and Steve Stone was there, friend of the family (not my family) apparently.

Dyer at the cinema at The Gate wearing a basketball vest with Dyer 8 on the back, matching shorts, and jesus sandals. He hit me on the head with a bag of Doritos when he put his arm around the person behind me in the queue for a photo.

Sounds like the cold I've just had. Started off as a sore throat, progressed to sneezing and coughing, fever, and left me deaf as a final departing present. That's the one. Started with a sore throat last Monday, had a horrible cough for most of the week then got the sneezy/fever bit over the weekend, now my ears are playing up. I'm not normally one for calling in sick - hate it when other people do it for a cold - but would've been very tempted last week had we not been short staffed at work anyway. But still, Ted Maul's post above has reminded me it could be (a lot) worse.

I hate Mondays. My team leader is back tomorrow after a week off so I'm desperately trying to hide things in cabinets etc, only more stuff keeps coming in so I'm going to have to start actually doing some work. Plus I've been full of cold all weekend and now I've lost the hearing in my right ear. Grr.

Well pleased with that result, I fucking hate Spurs.

The blind lad at work got me a good-un today!

time for the awkward question was somebody giving him a run down of the game as it happened? He had the radio in one ear and listened to the crowd with the other. -
Argh I hate this whole thing. Used to cringe every time Shearer said it - which he always did.

Refreshing to see. He's come on in leaps and bounds this season and although I wasn't much of a fan before, he's been fairly consistent and I'd be happy to see him get a new deal.

I went to the Chelsea (cup) game with a blind lad, was quite an eye opener (haha). His banter was frighteningly quick at times considering the rest of us were taking the piss out of people/things around us which he couldn't see. Also right outside the turnstile I thought he'd had a right laugh (seen me coming a mile off?) as he'd promised he could get cheap tickets for being blind and I looked down and saw "Juvenile" on my ticket.. still I got in so all was good. -
Nice one, Rik. I'm saving up to buy a place but it's an absolute fortune and as I work in property I've got a constant (annoying) reminder of how the market is going. Probably just give up and start renting in a bit - unless that lottery win appears.

Well impressed with my achievements today. Loads of shite cleared up at work, few pints of cider, home for my tea, now got a couple of beers for a quiet night in. Champion.

....according to tonight's Ronnie Gill "Edgar hada trial at Manure when he was 9, was invited back.....but there was only one United he wanted to sign for....Newcastle!" the boy's got sense! Christ almighty, can someone just not asphyxiate Alan Oliver? I work just by the Chronicle offices and I've seen him a few times when I've been out on my lunch break .. Hmmm... if I can nick the pool car and use it as a getaway vehicle, we might just have ourselves a plan.. He's a reet clip isn't he? Aye, proper beast. Put me right off my lunch.

I would be if the database had been built yet. Cheered up slightly as I've managed to negotiate 4 study days for the 2 exams I've got this month - both are open book so won't really involve much studying.

January is shaping up to be a nightmare... My team leader is on holiday next week which leaves me in the firing line, got exams in a few weeks which I'm entirely unprepared for, and we've got (yet another) audit on the 30th - before which I have over 400 files to input onto a database. AND overtime has been cut - so I can't even work the weekend for it. Waa.

I only like the orange and chocolate ones so I never eat them, wouldn't risk getting a rank coffee one. Urgh.

Sometimes it does, sometimes people live for minutes. Depends on the length of the rope I think. Sure I read something like that a while ago.

Stuart Macbride - Dying Light It's alright, will probably read it to the end but not as gripping as some. Recently read Karin Slaughter - Indelible, Ian Rankin - The Black Book, Lynda La Plante - Red Dahlia, all very good.

The lad was born in Canada and seems to have a half Canadian, half Geordie accent... Matty in disguise?
