1. Though, I've heard the Newcastle balance sheets aren't exactly very trustworthy. The PLC is also a bit lenient when it comes to stock market anouncements...
2. Yes, of course we have, but as that money hasn't been recieved, it does make it easier though. 24768 How? 24774 We bought Woodgate for £9m and sold him for £14m: £5m profit. We bought Jenas for £5m and sold him for £8m: £3m profit. It's not like we're £16m worse off. 24779 We sold Jenas for 7m. FACT. We also have to pass some doshto Nottingham. Probably also a fact.
3. Who d'you think yee are like? Alan Oliver? "I know FOR A FACT that Souness had NO INFLUENCE on Mr Owen. The woman who mops the floor in the chip shop where Kluivert used to go said so " 24760 As I understand it Graeme Souness did play some part in convincing Michael Owen to join Newcastle United. He might not be the best football manager but he is always good with words. He also gives good interviews to the chronicle but not to the radio if they don't ask him nice questions. That is in contrast to several Newcastle players who don't give interviews to the Comical at all. Sources of the club also indicated that Brett Emerton will be a Newcastle player at the end of the week.
4. I hope they at least used my lyrics...
5. We know that we have a good squad. We also had a squad that was better than 14th on the paper. You pointed out to Souness good run last season. Sorry, but at two stages in the season we won a couple of games against second rate European teams and English teams like Coventry and Yeovil. Except that we got tonked at home a couple of times, played very poor football overall. The last goal at home scored by a Newcastle player in March. The signing of Owen has appeased a few. I was prepared to give him time after his first radio interview which turned out to be a great PR stunt. "The best team I have ever managed." "I am the most attacking minded manager the club ever had." "The club won't need an overhaul." "It is just about some fine tuning." etc. Those obviously were blatant lies. He hasn't been able to fulfil one of these promises. He demanded a complete overhaul. He played crap football and even the defensive record got worse. His only consistency is coming from searching for excuses. Souness had more then 50 games. 90% of them were crap. For me he had enough chances to demonstrate that he isn't capable of doing the job.
6. With the money we have to pass to Forest we at least got a little profit when you just look at the transfer sums. Still Jenas did pocket in quite a lot of dosh for his performances in meantime...
7. Tottenham stock market announcement:
8. By beating Oldham (h), Middlesboro (h) in extra time, Man City (h) after City were down to 10 men due to a debatable red card, Arsenal reserves (h), Sheffield Wednesday (semis) and finally with loads of luck they beat Tottenham in the final. SBR had to form the team that he lifted from midtable mediocrity into the Championsleague places (twice). Souness took over from an ageing SBR and lead a team from European football to relegation candidates. Souness was also allowed to throw loads of money at the likes of Boumsong, Parker, Luque and Owen - within just 8 months. And Keegan delivered fantastic results (bar the title) That's pure nonsense. Especially compared to what disastrous performances Souness has "managed" to produce so far. Who managed two shots on goal within four games this season. Sorry, I just don't understand what you want to say here.
9. What about you giving up the Primadonna crap, drop your alter egos and the insults will fade away. I think you are mixing up cause and effect. 24589 Is that just a very high brow way of saying, "but he started it!" 24593 Aye.
10. Spot on, Robson's transfer policy was debateable. 24584 Though I think it was the whole club's policy that didn't work out. They wanted to build a team for the future that would close the gap to ManUre and Arsenal. The hunt for more proven players already started under Robson last summer. This year even with the right amount of cash.

12. I judge him for all what he has done in nearly one year at Newcastle. That is excluding signing players. You don't need great manager skills to sign players, you need the skill to coach them and use them in the right way. Souness can't do it as he has proven game after game. 24365 How can you exclude signing players?!! That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard today! Because you don't have to be a football genius to beg your chairman to sign the likes of Owen, Parker, Luque and Emre. I'm fully aware of what Emre said about Souness. He said that Souness still has a big name in Turkey. But that is for sticking a flag into a pitch. He didn't say anything about his real manager skills IIRC. Compare this to the comments from Brett Emerton (a Souness signing) for example who said that Blackburn improved vastly in fitness when Hughes took over... 24552 Blackburn are doing cack under Hughes...AND they've got Bellamy! At least Souness won them a trophy which noone here has managed in 36 years. 24559 Blackburn looked like certain relegate candidates in Souness last weeks at Blackburn (as did Newcastle in the last weeks). Have you ever seen the cup run Blackburn had in this aforementioned season? btw - I added the link to what Emre said in the post above.

EDIT: Emre even was only in the youth team when Souness managed Galatasaray. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/low/football/...ted/4701375.stm
14. Crouch 7m Owen 16m Essien 26m How much would you pay for him and on what basis? Did we pay too much for Shearer? Could Owen have the same impact? If he scores 80 goals in 4 seasons how much is that worth to us. I think too many are believing the media hype so I'd like to hear the thought process that went into you deciding the value of this footballer to our club. 24406 Errr i don't think Owen is worth that much! Like it or lump it, mate! I don't care how much other clubs spend! Madrid signed him for 8m, then one season later....he's worth 16 million! How and why?! He had a pretty good season at Real, but not that good! I'm happy that he's here, and if he starts performing, the price we paid for him will not bother me one bit! 24413 When he moved last year he was in the final year of his contract and it was unsure if he signed a new one at Liverpool. Now he was on a long term contract and Real weren't exactly in the need to sell him. Liverpool also got a player together with the money (ok he wasn't even worth a pound in hindsight). I already said ahead of the deal that I am a bit scared about the money as well. Together with his huge wages he is an extremely expensive signing. But we all need that it will be very difficult for the player who will have to fill Shearer's boots. The player will face loads of expectations. Owen is one of the few players who most likely will be able to handle the pressure.
15. Who asked the 70+ year old bbc-addicts to get involved?

17. DK, you are getting carried away. We've still got Souness as manager, Owen isn't going to single-handedly transform our team into top 4 contenders. The atmosphere will be great at Fulham to begin with, but to be honest it might go pretty flat if we perform like we did in the second half against ManU. If we want champions league football next year, we have to change managers NOW. Souness is incapable of managing a top 4 side, no matter who we have as players, I am more certain of that than anything else in the world. Also, you seem to be forgetting that our squad is still paper thin, and our defence is far from alright. A few injuries and we are still in the shit mate. 24319 He's not getting carried away, he just had a head start on you in the sense that he wasn't manically depressed to begin with. This has allowed him to reach higher on the mood swing-ometer than you. 24326 He's getting carried away if he thinks we are going to get in the top 4. As for me, I feel the best I have about the club for ages. Soon Souness will be gone and the only way is up. Throw a defeat of the mackems into the equation, followed by their relegation, a couple of cup runs, and yeah, life is pretty sweet! 24339 I feel like we're really making progress with these therapy sessions. 24343 They just have doubled his medication.
18. Being able to formulate a sentence would be a start. 24223 They probably would pass a job interview in this case meaning they had no time to hang around SJP...
19. Bah, I think HTT is only annoyed that his theory that Fat Fred isn't backing the manager with cash fell to pieces with two signings worth more thatn 25m in a week. Terrible feeling to be wrong, eh.
20. You also made it to all Jorman news sites via the German news agency (that were taking you serious). So there are only several million Jormans thinking Newcastle fans must be totally deluded...
21. If you've got a secretary and you've only done 15 lines then she must have done even less work than you! German efficiency? 23008 The secretary is a biffer to keep us free of annoying students. Though the idea is that this should allow me to listen to webradio without any disturbance. 23012 Had on there Wolfy, you're nee oil painting yourself like! 23018 I hate it when people throw insults at me I have to google first... BIFFER n. 1. Person who is fat due to excessive fast food intake. So me=biffer=Gemmill??? Wow, now I am really offended.
