1. Not even the weather? 29604 Do you think it might be a factor? 29618 What? The weather? Don't know, the toss might be a factor, too.
2. Doesn't the winner get a WC qualifying place?
3. Thüringer Rostbratwurst.
4. Peter Beardsley = God. FACT. Johnny2J isn't bad either...
5. Go to the Grosvenor hotel and say "I need a room for me and my lass, Kieron is paying". (allegedly).
6. But Dyer was out originally with a back injury wasn't he? I didn't think it was anything to do with his hamstring... 28949 And why did he go to see a hamstring specialist in Munich? (And I am sure I answered this before somewhere else...)
7. I don't know if the appreciation of a Eurovision-lunatic is the right spur...
8. Yes but the players tend to play in Europe, so you have to consider the extra travelling too. 28564 The last friendlies played by Peru: Chile (home), UAE (in Japan), Japan (away), Argentine (in USA), Spain (away, Feb 2004), Guatemala (home), Mexico (in USA), Uruguay (home) ... the next friendly played by Peru in Europe was played against Holland in 1998... 28577 I'm not sure what point your making but I meant the competitive games which (excluding World Cup Finals) would all be played in South America. 28580 And I said that scrapping competitive matches would lead to the fact that they will play friendlies instead (to what they are entitled to). But countries like Peru tend to play South American opponents in friendlies... So the achievement would be what? 28586 I take your point but I still think the South American World Cup qualifying route is ridiculously convoluted. Also, if Peru played more friendlies they may have to play more of them in Europe. I'm guessing they have a fair few players based in Europe (in Spain?) although I'm not sure this. 28600 I just know Pizarro and Guerrero who play for Bayern. Funnily enough their commitment has never been a big issue...

11. Separating the South American countries would only be needed if they played more international games than European teams. They don't. There isn't a huge difference if you play 18 games spread between September 2003 and October 2005 (South America) or 10-12 games between August 2004 and October 2005 (Europe)... If you scrapped some South American qualifying matches they would play friendlies instead...
12. Fifa/The South American equivalent of UEFA should sort it out. They play a ridiculous 'round-robin' system at the minute. Why don't they have two groups and half the number of games? 28391 There is an official calender with protected dates and normally the South American games match the European ones (though they are in a different time zone and a couple of hours later). And South American nations don't play more games in the end. They have more competitive games, but spread over a longer time (Europe started in 2004 while South America in 2003). On the other hand European teames play qualifying games for the European Championship as well...
13. Well, I would get even more pissed if the likes of Owen etc. injure themselves in a meaningless friendly like Emre did and not even misses one game but several weeks... The point is that international commitment of players can clash with the club's interests, be it by travelling time, injuries or whatever. Though for me it's part of the game. If you sign a Southamerican international you have to be aware of the problem or just stick to European players. Well, at least the shit stirring media did succeed...
14. Sums up the undercurrent xenophobic activity that rears it's head once in a while (normally during major international championships). 28276 I don't really think it's xenophobic to prefer Solano not to miss games for Newcastle as a result of playing for Peru. I'd want the same of Michael Owen. 28287 Yep, but that's what you want. But how do you think the public would react if Souness came out saying Owen should quit international football in protection of his hamstring so that he can play a maximum of games for Newcastle.
15. Lazy journalism. They just reboil an old story. As someone said. SBR was prepared to put Newcastle in second place to manage his country. So if Nobby hops off now and then to play for his country it is fine by me. I also would have no problem in signing Adriano and allowing him to keep playing for his country... I'm really puzzled about the English behaviour. A nation that always falls into collective hysteria when it comes to its national team but is showing little respect for foreign players having the same pride.
16. are you actually alive or are you in a coma? as I thought the average was meant to be 72 bpm. 28006 Yeah, the average? I'm superhuman. 28019 Isn't a slow pulse also a result of obesity? You are not superhuman, you're just superfat.
17. So you must have bought a very, very dodgy guide when you were in Berlin...
18. I also saw him wearing a Cork Hurling top in another report. Apparently the boy got loads of presents from all over the world, 5 brand new bikes for example...
19. At the same time we should make sure that we will see Owen as often as possible in a Toon shirt... 27886 I thought that went without saying, tbh. 27888 Of course, as Newcastle United doesn't have a history in turning good players into crocks...

22. Sorry, but the end of the transfer window was clearly not the perfect time. On football message board always half of the topics deal with transfers...
