  1. Who do Brentford have playing on the right? If they have plenty of pace there I'd definitely be inclined to rest BDB.
  2. The fact that Hall has been training with England makes me think that he may not get in yet for this very reason.
  3. Tonali has a knock doesn't he? Seems that will allow an easy decision. Casey reckons Sven is fit so expect him not to play.
  4. Durham promoted 7 years after the ECB screwed them. Only need a few bonus points from the last two games to clinch the title.
  5. Fucking hope not as I've booked my flight and accommodation. I'll go regardless but I'd love to be in there for the match. Should be a great experience.
  6. I was only thinking of player who played more than five or six games so that rules out a fair few of those. Smith and Geremi (despite looking like he was 90 by the time he played here) were better players. Guthrie, Colback & Gosling were about on a par, ie equally as average. I clearly go back further than you though as I can remember how shite Pat Heard and Gary Megson were for us. And lets not forget the mighty Fumaca. But I remember quality players like McCreery, Lee, Speed, Clark, Cabaye, Batty, Venison, Bracewell (off the top of my head). Hayden isn't fit to lace any of their boots. He just looked slightly better than some of the other dross we had playing at the time. That does not make a good player!
  7. No he was never good. I really can't work out why people have that opinion of him. He was one of the worst midfielders I've ever seen play for us.
  8. Longstaff had at least shown something under Rafa and was looking extremely promising until Bruce turned up. Joelinton it's hard to say he'd looked promising although all his team mates seemed to rave about it. Hayden never had anything other than getting stuck in. I think it's telling that Howe immediately wanted nothing to do with him. He's a good coach but he can't do anything with players of that standard. I've seen next to nothing of Luton but I can't imagine he'll get much game time for them. He's not a premier league level player at all and with the injuries he's had the last couple of season I can only imagine he's getting worse.
  9. That 360 account used to be good because they just posted information so it was a decent account to follow to just see all of the news/rumours in one place. Recently they seem to have been trying to drive up traffic by posting shite like that. They are by no means the ones mind, but I can't be arsed with shite like that or all of the accounts asking which team has the best three midfielders or which away support is best etc. None of it promotes decent discussion it just gets a load of cunts who know nothing crying on like babies. I don't think it's best for Bruno to react like that, if indeed it was actually him, and I think there will be people at the club now who will be responsible for keeping the players in check on social media.
  10. I can't really understand why people think this raises any further questions of whether we're owned by the Saudi state. Being owned by PIF is more than enough reason on it's own to expect something like this from day one. I can also see why this is beneficial to the club in terms bringing in further revenue from the middle east. What concerns me is that I can't see them being well attended and I worry that people that do go will behave like morons and make the rest of us look like what the mackems try to claim we are.
  11. Not a good move for him really. He loves being the best player in the team and with Mahrez there he won't be close to that.
  12. I still think the Bazball approach is basically just trying to play to our strengths. We don't have players like Strauss, Cook and Trott anymore who can dig in and grind it out for a long time. So the idea of trying to be positive and score quickly while the batsman is in makes perfect sense. And I think psychologically, what they are trying to do make sense too. Try and take away the fear and allow the players to be their best selves. The problem has been Leach's injury and Bairstow's return have lead to poor selection decisions and those mistakes have lead to further mistakes in decision making on the field. I don't think there's any need to abandon what they have been doing, just refine it a bit and do it better.
  13. Can't understand leaving out Tongue and retaining Robinson. The pace he's been bowling at isn't getting very far against the Aussies at all. Unless they think Tongue can't manage it physically. Even if that's the case I'd have been tempted to go with Potts over Robinson. At least he bowls in the 80's. Hopefully the pitch at Leeds will be more helpful for our bowlers.
  14. They're saying he's about a week away from being ready. Potts has been released from the squad and is now playing for Durham at Leicester. Surely 2 days of first class cricket would have helped Wood get ready for a test match?
  15. It's brilliant how Chelsea can get out of their FFP issues by shipping out a lot of their dead wood to teams in Saudi. I can't for the life of me work out how they've managed that one.
  16. Buzzing for Friday now. Train down there tomorrow and sample the local cuisine then in there early doors for Jerusalem.
  17. I think the big difference is that Sean actually had some quality pre Bruce. Unfortunately Matty was never going to make the grade.
  18. Aye I always considered 6 as a more ball playing centreback such as Roeder and Hansen and associated 5 with your Jeff Clarkes.
  19. Used to try and explain this to my dad with the use of Pedro as an example. All I ever got back was "what difference does it make what number he has on his back". I think there is an age limit to who can understand this concept. Mind I'm also with ackas, 6 was always a central defender for me. 4 was the defensive midfielder, David McCreery in my formative years.
  20. Aye I can't see it being accurate and the likelyhood of them letting reporters know a budget seems extemely slim to me. FFP is obviously a concern but surely they know what we have is way short of where we need to be to play in the champions league and compete for top four again next season. Surely they will be able to pick up more commercial deals over the next year to cover FFP.
  21. Strip and sponsor conirmed now.
  22. Craig Hope is saying that our transfer budget is between £70m & £80m with the posibility of increasing it to £100m based on sales this summer or expected next. That last bit makes no sense to me unless it's something like players being loaned out for this season with a guaranteed sale next year. He also says that the caveat is that we've gone beyond our budget in previous windows. Chicken nonce levels of covering his back there!
  23. I thought his handling of the pressure they put us under in the second half was superb. I lost count of the amount of times he won the ball and bought a foul to slow them down.
