1. I don't think that you can argue that with people living longer lives, the system needs to be overhauled. Here in the US, retirement age is 65, but when that figure was decided upon, the life expectancy was a lot lower. If you adjusted it for today's life expectancy, it would be over 70.
2. Well for starters, I can breath in Minnesota. 57417 There's no smog in San Francisco matey. You're thinking of LA. 57423 No; I'm thinking of the Bay Area. My aunt lives in Oakland and I spent two weeks in Berkely. Couldn't breath worth a damn. Don't know if it was smog or what but I couldn't breath there. 'sides, I'd go crazy without the seasonal change. It just doesn't have to get quite this cold. 57429 WTF does that mean like? Gemmill, do you live in San Francisco? 57437 Gemmill spent a few years in San Fransisco honing his skill at gay loving.

5. Ok. Now it is cold. -17º C. And before Sparks starts quoting the temperature in Yaktusk, no one on the forum actually lives there, whereas I am walking to work a mile each way in this shite.
6. I'm not saying they're good; I'm saying that they could be Australia and possibly Uruguay minus Forlan. They're miles ahead of the Jamaican team that qualified in 1998.
7. I don't know much about Bahrain, but I don't doubt that Trinidad and Tobago could give either of those teams a run for their money. The thing about TnT is that they have a lot of hot and cold days--they can be brilliant or they can be dreadful; it's all about concentration. They've got great individual skills, but their focus is dreadful. Their new coach, Beenhacker has got them a little more organized and if he can instill that spirit in them, they'll be great. 57043 Dwight Yorke plays for them doesn't he? Case closed tbh. 57046 Well, Dwight Yorke 'plays' for them might be more accurate. He trots around the field (wearing the captains armband no less!) but does very little.

9. I think that 0-1 is a great result for Australia! I am confident that they can overcome that deficite at home.
10. Sorry to hear of your loss, SLP. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
11. Post some pictures to make me laugh. I'm bored and sick of work.
12. Except mine was black.
13. It looks like one of a series of Powerade ads that we've had over here for a while with several stars of other sports including LeBron James hitting several full court shots in warm ups and an american football star (Vic, IIRC) throwing a ball into the stands from the endzone. There's a video of the Basketball one here: http://www.snopes.com/photos/advertisements/lebron.asp And the football one here: http://www.mknx.com/v/powerade.wmv
14. The best story about this was a town in Texas where a Christian group sued to have a monument to Christian creation beleifs on public property (separation of church and state issues.) They won, on the basis that censuring those beliefs was tantamount to denying them their first amendment (free speech/freedom of religion) rights. The funny part is that as soon as the courst came down on this issue, the town was innundated with requests (which according to the ruling they HAD to accomodate) for several different religions to have their creation beliefs displayed as well.
15. Zathras, are you saying anything that is not demonstrable under controlled conditions cannot be regarded as a fact? 54454 I'm pointing out that part of the argument, not seriously forwarding it as my own opinion. Although one could make a very strong case for that point of view. Got my degree actually.
16. Microevolution is accepted fact. Macroevolution is most assuredly not. Oh, and just to be fair and balancedâ„¢, gravity is a theory as well, so I refuse to believe in it also.
17. I know four people who've done similar. Three worked out horribly. One worked out okay, but only because he had family and friends in the new city as well. In my own case, I can only say that I am 1000% glad that I did not do so when I had the notion to do so.
18. The Algarve was nice to visit, but I would not like living there. Didn't like the roads or the cuisine enough for every day. And to be fair, I was in Dublin as a tourist for two days
19. Former #10 forward here. Still got the ball skills but I'm afraid the fitness is long gone.
20. Oh, and having lived for at least a couple of months in Newcastle The Algarve (Portugal) Hyderabad, India Michigan California (bay area) I can honestly say that I find Minnesota preferable to all of them. Although I loved my time in Newcastle. (and I liked the time I spent in Dublin too)
21. You're from Minnesota? I'd love to critisise but I'm from Dublin, population of under 2m and where I currently live I think the population is under 50. 52107 Minnesota is lovely. And it gives me license to criticize all these pussies who go on about it being cold in Newcastle.
22. US, dark country lanes, hill-billies, 'Deliverence' country! 52103 Ah, I thought you meant it was a film. Population of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne: 259,573 Population of Minneapolis, MN : 2,968,806 So no.
