  1. They've lost two games in the last four years and won the Euros.
  2. I absolutely loved the 1994 Italy squad. Baresi, Maldini, Baggio, Zola, Costacurta, Albertini, Donadoni.... Never really liked any of their squads since then as much. And actively disliked them in 2006 and 2010. Still, I want the World Cup to have the best teams in it, and there's little debate that Italy is one of those teams. One of the reasons I think there should be fewer spots for Asia, CONCACAF, and CONMEBOL.
  3. Only word that came to my mind as a reaction was "fucksticks." Well, on reflection, "fartnuggets" works too
  4. Once again I will be able to watch *most* of the first half and then have to go pick up the kids. Pain in the ass. (And a road hazard when I have the commentary on while driving).
  5. Right. I'm pretty pissed off about this result now. More than I would have been had we lost comprehensively 3-0 as I initially predicted. Dammit. Been out chopping ice for an hour and still haven't worked through my aggression.
  6. Problem is they'll get the one(s) that counts. Got to head out now, will finish the match on delay this afternoon. Cheers, lads!
  7. Nice pressing, but not sure that's going to be a winning long-term strategy here
  8. I'm fine with the rotation. He's not punted the match, but it's far less important a fixture than the Everton game coming up.
  9. They Might Be Giants, Coffman Union, October 1999
  10. Darn. Hope he's okay; got his name on my shirt from last season. He's likely to be captain this season, I think. Gutted for him when he missed out on the Olympics with an injury.
  11. Vegas is overrated. Not enough guns for Real Americans™ to enjoy the city these days. The casinos ban firearms!
  12. Do you know if Michael Boxall made it out of the Kiwi squad without contracting Covid? Asking for myself and all other MNUFC fans.
  13. Getting ready for today's World Cup Qualifier. Expected temperature at kickoff will be -16° Celsius with 10 mph winds making it feel like about -25°. Gonna be a blast! Makes me wonder what the coldest football match on record is. (FIFPro recommends that a match be abandoned at -5°)
  14. Got in trouble for violating COVID protocols during Copa America, I believe.
  15. Fair question. Can't really say I do, can I? Ah well. Player I know reasonably well moved to Aberdeen and wanted to chat with him about getting a shirt.
  16. Does JJ still post here? He was an Aberdeen fan, was he not?
  17. At this point, 26F would feel positively tropical.
  18. That and the good news from the NUFC side of things in the last couple of days brought me back, at least briefly. What's been going on around here, folks? I see my funny pictures thread is still on the front page.
  19. Yup. This is not particularly novel around here, but it is still fun. Best part is the multiple news stories about people burning themselves trying to do it http://www.buzzfeed.com/adriancarrasquillo/a-whole-bunch-of-people-threw-boiling-water-in-the-air-to-wa
  20. Thanks! Good to be back! Hopefully it lasts...
  21. Nah. I like it here, despite the cold winters. Spent a year abroad in India and honestly missed the seasonal change when I had 18 months of 'summer.' That being said, this is the coldest it has been in about 25 years. It can be fun to take a boiling pot of water outside to see steam freeze or to see the thrown water freeze before it hits the ground. But you gotta go back inside quickly. At these temperatures (-43 C windchill) exposed flesh freezes in less than 10 minutes. I have family in California and absolutely hate L.A. Bay area hasn't been dreadful but I wouldn't want to live there.
  22. Haha! Board has now been unblocked by work again!
