  1. And you could drive an 18 wheeler through those front teeth.
  2. Why our teenage music listening has a life-long impact - BBC Teach
  3. Think it illustrates my point pretty well. Those were two snapshots of the 90s, showing just how much bilge was out there at the time. Few of the songs from the 90s stand the test of time, most of it was garbage, just like the 80s, 00s, 10s and now. Honestly, there might be Radiohead equivalents recording now, but I doubt they'll be to our tastes. Just like our parents would have hated Pablo Honey or OK Computer. It seems like everything successful today has been softened and sanded down. Commercialism probably has a lot to answer for there. Like, I really enjoyed Kings of Leon, but it felt like after the relative success of Youth and Young Manhood and Shake Heartbreak they turned into a shit arena band overnight.
  4. I'm guessing Streaming and commercialism have taken a stronger grip around the throat of modern music too.
  5. Is Shed Seven the name you've given to your victims?
  6. Does my nut when people say 90s music was amazing and then they make it their fucking personality. Biggest selling singles of the decade were; Biggest albums were;
  7. There's more that doesn't. For every one thing that does, there's hundreds that don't. I think music might be a different story, but tv shows, movies? Nah, they age like milk more often than not. Even then, when people look back at the great decades of music, they forget about all the utter shit that filled the charts and focus, instead, on the stand out hits. Friends was very much of it's time and there's some stuff that wouldn't fly these days, but at the time it was a global mega-success. Not sure we'll ever see another sitcom dominate popculture like it did. Appetite for it isn't there and the broadcasters have changed their model.
  8. My lad doesn't give a shit about clocks going back, so he was singing Hakuna Ma-fucking-tata at 5 o'clock in the bastard morning.
  9. I liked Friends. Hasn't aged well, but it's rare that anything does. Perry was definitely the funniest character, it's rare that someone in a sitcom makes actual jokes that other characters laugh at. Usually you're laughing at them, but with Chandler there were plenty of occasions where you laughed with the other characters. Perry was also good in Studio 60, for whatever that's worth.
  10. Honestly think Howe kept Hall and Livramento on the bench because they'll be starting against Man Utd in the cup. Wouldn't be surprised if Miley played, Dummett at the back, or Krafth instead of Schar? Maybe Gordon up front, with Willock on the left? Anyway, I was right with the result, wasn't I?
  11. 2 goalkeepers on the bench 6 players who can play fullback No strikers. No young players who could have taken the places of Gillespie, Ritchie or Dummett?
  12. "Ok, I see, and are these 'Mags at Work' in the room now?"
  13. Not taking gaming advice from an ex-Games Workshop patron
  14. I'm sure sitting in his house with fuck all to do, and no football to give his brain happy chemicals, he'll be WAY less likely to be tempted.
  15. Exchanged my end of PCP Kia Ceed, for a newer VW Polo. Honestly I would have been happy enough to buy the Kia, but didn't have £6k lying around. Took the old car to the local Kia dealership but they were oscillating between trying the hard sell on a Corsa, or being utterly disinterested. VW were just much less cunty and therefore much more likely to get my business.
  16. Cattermole, isn't it? I always thought a moderator had to be a calm voice of reason, but that Keith lad is as frothing as they come.
  17. Depends, has he ever kissed a badge and/or had a child?
  18. Wolves are actually not playing terribly. We'll be tired/distracted/disappointed from the Dortmund game. Wilson will have played the majority of three games in a row. Can't rotate the midfield too much (unless we throw Hall in?). Away from home. I say again, One - One, sir.
  19. As long as Handsome Pards isn't in town
