Was dropping off the lad at school, so many glum looking Mancs. Only the Man City fan seemed pleased to see me. They've got a team of players, some of them are good but too many are poor and not one of them is taking responsibility on the pitch. They've got a manager who doesn't appear to have a definitive style or system, and who has clearly lost the trust of the players. They've owners who don't know enough about football to make good decisions, and too much arrogance to install a DoF to run arguably the worlds biggest football club. and that's just

Unsurprisingly you're so far off the mark it's derisible. I said it's rare that a TV show ages well. AH said that was bollocks and said there's plenty of stuff that's aged well. I replied that while that's right, there's far more stuff that hasn't, so my point stands. What I haven't done is profess to know all about music. And I don't disagree that music of an era and music that was commercially successful are two different things. But you're an ornery cunt, so y'know... you do you.

Think it illustrates my point pretty well. Those were two snapshots of the 90s, showing just how much bilge was out there at the time. Few of the songs from the 90s stand the test of time, most of it was garbage, just like the 80s, 00s, 10s and now. Honestly, there might be Radiohead equivalents recording now, but I doubt they'll be to our tastes. Just like our parents would have hated Pablo Honey or OK Computer. It seems like everything successful today has been softened and sanded down. Commercialism probably has a lot to answer for there. Like, I really enjoyed Kings of Leon, but it felt like after the relative success of Youth and Young Manhood and Shake Heartbreak they turned into a shit arena band overnight.
