Felt he really only became a reliable player when he was too knackered to even lope around the pitch and played as a fairly immobile target man. Should have bulked up when he was a bairn and played as a static pivot for players to run off.

I liked Shola and he is a bit of a cult figure, but that cult status had people tearing their hair out. Seemed like they felt any support for the gangly legged moron was a tacit acceptance of lower standards?

Lascelles might not yet be the finished article, and he may never be, but he was a better choice at CB than Steven Taylor. The blame for our relegation certainly doesn't lay at Lascelles door, there's a long list of guilty parties ahead of him in the blame queue.

Might be worth having MS in the squad, one of the last real chances he's got to con some bigger club to come sniffing about him? Conversely, it's the one of the last real chances to pick up an injury that'll deter some bigger club from sniffing about him. fuck it, stick him as a carpark attendant, he's got the cheery disposition for it.

"not that kind of player"

Shola had a career in the top flight, for the most part, and is one of the clubs most prolific goal scorers in european competition. He's still shit.

Aye, that's where I'm at. If he goes we get an absolute fortune for a spineless arsehole, if he stays we'll have the best attacking midfielder in the league by a mile.- 1745 replies

Striker as a back up for Mad Mitro?

Hard to turn that around though, isn't it. Refs will look at his disciplinary record last season and expect him to be up for ructions, when a flouncy winger tumbles, clutching his face after a header, off goes Mitrovic and his reputation remains. Best thing for him will be getting support and supply, then he won't get as frustrated and bored.

That Arsenal red and a couple of his yellows were reputation cards, imhtgo

There's rumours about Galloway from Everton who'd be ridiculous in the Championship imo.

I was surprised at how central Ritchie played. A more attacking (or competent) left back would have provided more options from the left flank and I think we'll struggle for balance if we don't go off and sign one. Unless we're waiting for the return of Haidara, who although flawed is more capable going forward than Dummett and his defending won't be under as much pressure as it would be in the Prem.

I put a fiver on Fulham to win 1-0 at 11-1. Matt cashed it out at half time for £10. (to be fair he gave me £20 and bought a few rounds and is letting me crash at his for a bit... so I'm not bitter)

Was saying to the lads I went with, with the players we had available, we should have played Anita fullback and Janmaat ahead of him. We've seen Vurnon play ok at right back in the division above and we know that Janmaat likes to bomb forward, so wheres the harm? It was no surprise that we didn't create much when we played three defensive midfielders away to Fulham in our first game, but I'm confident that even if Rafa picked that 1st team later in the season we'd create more than we did on Friday.

I like variety, and I'm not saying you're not allowed to enjoy the modern pentathlon, but there are few events that actually get me bothered. Mens 20k Walk? -
Are you having a stroke? What's that mnemonic, FIRE? Shit, Cath's abroad as well, we'll have to send J69 round, he's the closest thing to a proper medical professional, isn't he?
