  1. I disagree, but I'm going to forgive you because you used "Horse shit" rather than Bull shit.
  2. Thing is, flair is an important attribute of an elite player because it's another facet to their game. Yes, Shearer was technically superb and an athlete but he hadn't the flair of Ronaldo, Zidane etc. Christiano Ronaldo is technically superb, an athlete and can do things with the football that would have occurred to Shearer to try during a game. That's why CR is World class and Shearer was probably the level just below that at his peak. Like Beckham or Gerrard or whomever.
  3. We also got a shit load of freekicks around the box when we had an absolute embarrassment of options; https://youtu.be/pNujRL_oVuc?t=93 https://youtu.be/mfyty0_9Iyo?t=15
  4. It's funny, on here you don't come across as a Juggalo...
  5. Seen reports that the Man City academy have almost a monopoly on young talent in their catchment area, even Manchester United players are sending their kids to the blue half of the city for training.
  6. Was that rumour in the papers? I must have missed it
  7. Beardsley's the better footballer, Shearer the greater player. Lead a team to a title, nearly did the same with us. Unbelievable scoring record in a team that was bang average more often than not. Did that after coming back from a career threatening injury that forced him to change his game. Beardsley is incredibly gifted and had the right mentality to go with his wonderful skill, but Shearer wins it for me.
  8. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/chant-for-the-early-leavers.1341250/ Have at it Gentlemen.
  9. I don't accept your apology. Bring me cake and we can talk.
  10. Old Tufty is 10/1 for the job, Agnew is favourite at 4/1
  11. I'd have him back, because sentimentality in football is more dead than Bruno's baby momma.
  12. Good grief. The tone was a bit unsettling given the topic mind.
  13. I've not seen it. I think it's because everyone on here has become distrustful of MSM at your urging and as such are uncomfortable sharing any news items that aren't 1st hand accounts or funny.
  14. Swansea get to play a fair number of midtable holiday makers and Clement has them playing well, so I'd fancy them to stay up. Palace's run in is daunting with their last 11 fixtures including; Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd. Boro's is similar, but they get to face 3 from the bottom 5 and who knows what the new man may achieve with a defensively resolute squad? Some hard fought draws against the big clubs and beating the relegationeers could drag them to safety? Mackems are down imo, but I don't think it's definitely the current bottom three. Fwiw I'd love Pardew to take over at Boro and fail to keep them up, Moyes to dour his way into the Championship and Palace to flounder against the big boys and Sam gets his first releg... wait, what's that? It's his second relegation? Interesting... Pardew, Allardyce, Palace, Sunderland and Middlesbrough all relegated as we go up. Ahh Bisto.
  15. In unsurprising news Karanka has been sacked by Boro. Not sure it'll do them a whole lot of good, but it does mean the mackems are now the only side in the bottom six not to change their manager this season. Will the others benefiting from the "new manager bounce" set our North East chums further adrift?
  16. That wasn't the one where Shearer scored the only goal of the game after about 9 seconds was it?
