I imagine Benitez will simply have said I want this standard of player and league finish won't be explicitly spoken about. He'll want the right players to improve the chances of successfully carrying out his instructions. So replacing Gouffran in the first team with a left sided Ritchie, Lascelles with an experienced centre half capable of playing in the English top flight.

I don't think we need to spend anything like £100m to guarantee survival, but as in in the Championship if we've got the money available we shouldn't hold off to make it "fair" on the others.
-
What about that blotchy bald mess made you think of him?
-
How much money will they both have available to them? They'll both need to spend a fair amount as I don't think either are particularly strong.

You're fucking joking?! Bet the cunt wears Stone Island and fancies himself a Top Boy

The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread 2018 -2019

His stock is high at the moment, and this recent form could be indicative of his true level, or he could revert to single figure tallies for the foreseeable. Thing is, if we do pursue him, I trust Benitez to have seen something in him that suggests it's the former, rather than the latter. Under Pardew or McClaren I'd not have that confidence. The paper talk is just that though, how many of the players we signed were known about well before the transfer happened? -
Good. Fucker is a pariah now and it's notable that the only people thinking it was a good idea are the same type of twats who apparently share "Britain First" nonsense on facebook. Surely once public opinion turned the commonsense thing would have been to cancel the flyover, give the money to the charities and stick to humourless banners tied to their stadium and shit?
-
Aye, the Sunderland fans predicting anything but midtable next season must surely only be basing it on hope and bravado?
-
Apparently the mackems left in the stadium beeewwwwed their team back on after half time Oh and nee fucker seems to have seen that embarrassing banner

Llorente puts Swansea 1-0 up. Now trying to work out the permutation required to see Allardyce experience his second relegation. No real change it turns out, Hull need to win both their games and Palace lose both theirs. Shame like, I'd like to see the fat pudding lose this daft myth.

He's recieved praise in previous season too though, right? -
To be fair there's some decent conversations to be had on there, I've learned to ignore the few who are incapable of that. Have to say I do enjoy how furious one user gets with anyone who either is a Newcastle fan, or isn't the type of Sunderland fan he likes.

Championship was a bit of a spa day to be honest.

The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread 2018 -2019

We do. Just maybe not a player who's not consistently performed for his home club. Frankly we'd be better off chasing Sigurdsson, who's far better than our lot, at a club we could lure him from, has performed consistently and seems a model pro. -
Aye, just meant without the clause he'd be one of their few saleable assets. A few seem to think Ndong, Pickford will stay. The latter out of loyalty, the former because if they don't get a stupid offer they should just not sell. French midfielders are famously professional if they don't get their desired move, so they may have a point...
-
Big thing for them is how much of an overhaul is possible. Defoe, Kone, Ndong, Pickford won't raise £55m They're losing a ton of players as their contracts run out or they return to their parents clubs. The ones they're left with are ageing (O'Shea), perma-crocks (Cattermole) or just shit. Doesn't give them much of a core to build upon, or much money either. It'll get worse if they start badly and the fans desert the ground.
-
Doubt it, whoever comes up with Sheffield United and Bolton will join them as favourites for the drop. Plus Burton, Barnsley, maybe Bristol too? Especially as it's unlikely Abraham will still be with the latter. I'd be surprised if they bounced straight back, and the longer they're away from the Premier League teat the more they'll struggle, but I'd be shocked if they suffered consecutive relegations.
-
You're welcome.

Dunno, never really enjoyed it over there. We all know how much I enjoy attention, I'd just get lost in the crowd over there, whereas on RTG I'm a novelty.

No Beardsley?

Maybe I'd post here more if there was as much chatter about Newcastle on here as there is there...
