  1. Sounds like I've made a perfectly reasonable statement and you're all precious, argumentative winnets.
  2. I don't even think he's all that, he's decent, sure, but would the Manchester clubs go in for him? Would Arsenal or Chelsea? And doesn't he have just as good a chance of winning the title at Spurs as most of them anyway?
  3. All right, who're your World Class managers?
  4. If his missus looked like Paul Dummett, nobody would blame him to be fair.
  5. You seem to spend a lot of time thinking about doping in sports.
  6. Aye, I expect he'll be left out, but why sign another wide player? Is Kennedy really that much better than the two signings we completed this summer? If he is, why did we sign them? If he isn't, is he better than Aarons from the bench, would he be ahead of Murphy assuming Ritchie is a starter?
  7. Plus Yedlin and Lazaar can play wide on the flanks further up the pitch if they need to.
  8. I think you're confusing me saying "I don't think he's world class" with me saying "I don't think he's very good".
  9. How many "World Class" managers are there? 5? 10? 20? There are some who are given a chance they haven't earned (Guardiola, Zidane, etc.) but they'd sharp be jettisoned if they weren't up to the task. But this is essentially pointless as there isn't a definition of a world class manager that we will all agree on.
  10. I don't think I am, he's mint, the best manager we've had since Robson, way above the standard of manager I could have hoped for under Ashley and is solely responsible for a nascent awakening of a sleeping giant despite obstacles dropped by an inept owner. It's just that he isn't one the few managers that I would call World Class. Guarantee there'll be a hayuuge disagreement about which players are World Class.
  11. It's based on the fact I don't think the very top clubs would have Benitez high on their shortlist. It's a fucking pointless conversation anyway, everyone's definition of "World Class" will be slightly or entirely different, and as a label it is entirely arbitrary.
  12. I just don't think he's world class at the minute.
  13. Which of the top jobs could Rafa Benitez actually get though? Barcelona, Bayern, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, PSG, Real Madrid, Tottenham? Which of those top clubs would go for Benitez? What makes a manager "world Class" if it isn't being on the shortlist for World Class clubs?
  14. He's had an amazing career and that's not up for discussion. I'm just saying, right now, there are better managers out there. I don't think that's controversial.
  15. Busier than here and it's an exercise in getting better at putting my point across. I lack brevity and clarity.
  16. For me there's enough managers ahead of him in the list of top managers, currently. But if I say currently, it would take the conversation off on a tangent that's irrelevant. Trouble is, it's hard to say with managers, you have to take into account the context of the club they're managing. Is Wenger currently a top manager? Well his team consistently plies their trade at the top of a difficult league, they play great football at times, but all too often fall short of their remit. Mourinho delivers all over the shop, Guardiola does too, what about Simeone, Emery, Zidane, Conte, Klopp, Pochettino, and so on. I think he's been dealt a rough hand at Newcastle at was already a big task and if he succeeds here (whatever success looks like) he'd have to, once again, be spoken of as World Class.
  17. Hopefully this will make his representatives sort a move for him. If nothing else it'll get his wages off our books.
  18. If the Supreme Leader is removed, is there just another despot waiting in line to take over?
  19. There's still time to get deals done before the window shuts and I'm certainly hoping we'll see 1 or 2 new faces before September. That might rely on shifting some of the players who clearly aren't part of Benitez's plans. I'm just worried Charnley and Barnes will gamble on making their money back or better on players like Lazaar, Hanley etc.
  20. As soon as I saw the trailer I thought "That'll be pretty but total shit." Same as Dark Tower. Definitely a film I'll end up watching when I've nowt to do though.
  21. Hang on, Pardew is a fucking Sky Sports pundit now? Howay Kim lad, I'm done with this world.
