I think a big problem is that the social media arm of the far right, or the alt-right or whatever they're calling themselves now, is that it appears so many hold these opinions as an online hobby. It's a game where the intent isn't to spread the word, it's to see if they can offend someone, see if they can get a reaction from someone. Hence the labels and catchphrases like SJW, Snowflake, Virtue Signalling, and so on. They're simple, easily repeated and memetic. Seeing such a movement online the real fascists are emboldened and it's them that take to the streets wearing kevlar, webbing and brandishing automatic rifles. In this, you're right, there needs to be a carrot to lure the kids away from being dicks online, but I think there also needs to be a big fucking stick for the actual fascists who Sieg Heil their way down main streets expecting the common people to march beside them because a tweet they put out calling some media person a Cuck got shared and liked a thousand times. A fascist who is convinced that shooting up a Mosque will get him hero status and not a lifetime behind bars. Just like we need to drag disenfranchised young men away from radicalisation into a death cult, we need to drag disenfranchised young men away from radicalisation into a murder cult.

I don't pop my head in here very often, but I'm trying to pin down Rayvin's position. The counter protesters who go too far with their anti-fascism stance are as bad as the people who go too far pushing their pro-fascism agenda? If we're keeping score I'd say the anti-fascists have some way to catch up with the fascists in terms of going too far. The biggest problem with the left, imo, is they've been too afraid of pissing people off to do anything. Aye, that's my take on it too. We were handling Spurs in the first half, not on top, not level pegging, but handling them. That all went to shit when Shelvey committed one of the stupidest red card offences I've seen. Had Shelvey stayed on and we went on to lose, it wouldn't have been a shock, but this was one of those game where everything went against us. I think Merino looked good and I think he's a shoo-in to replace Shelvey until the stupid bellend comes back into contention. Big concern is, who the fuck are we going to play at the back for the next few games until Dummett and Lejeune return?
