No but the power that may be withheld from or wielded against a politician for angering the (pro-Israel) Jewish lobby may not be enough of a concern for Macron to speak out against Israel's actions. Maybe I'm cynical but I view the positions held by China and Russia to be more "The friend of my enemy is my enemy" kind of thing. Think about the atrocities carried out by those two and the sheer effrontery to condemn Israel for doing similar? The utter hypocrisy for Russia, in the midst of their illegal and horrific invasion of Ukraine, to pearl clutch about Israel is staggering.

Had to google him. Now I'm in 7 rooms of gloom.

121 sounds like a lot, but when you look at the list, the overwhelming majority of those countries are not exactly what you'd call major players on the global scene. And while the UK 'bravely' abstained so did 22 other countries including Germany, Italy and the Dutch. I'd also suggest that the UN calling for a ceasefire has little power over Netanyahu. I think opinion has shifted because the US has finally got enough polling data in favour of a ceasefire to correct the course. I don't think morality has as much to do with it as you'd hope.

I don't think you can compare genocide with Brexit. Even just as a "thing rational people don't want". I mean, when is the right time for the sitting President to speak out against one of it's closest international allies, especially one which exists in an area where the US has very few friends. I don't think us calling out the barbarism is the same as the US President doing it at all. I mean, look how long it took the international community to speak out against it? And they don't all have as much invested in a strong Israel as the States do. It's too unrealistic to expect Joe Biden (or any leader) to say this conflict is wrong. It shouldn't be, but it is.

It's not, like. Lannister unleashed Clegane with the express instruction to sow terror. The US didn't instruct Israel to bomb hospitals or target civilians. Israel needs no instruction or encouragement to be the aggressor. And lets not paint Hamas as an innocent party in this either. They knew there would be retribution for their attack, and they have only slightly more regard for the Palestinian lives than the Israeli forces.

You're an idealist Rayvin, I like that about you. We don't know how much pressure the US was putting on Israel behind the scenes, we don't know how hard Biden was fighting with the rest of the decision makers. We don't know anything really, just what plays out in public, which I'm sure you know is far from what's actually playing out in private.

It'd be tough to name a global leader who wasn't.

That plus, the whole being a big ol' bigot thing.

Well you can ask permission to talk to the player and try and sort out personal terms, then try and sort a transfer deal between the clubs. No point agreeing a fee if the player isn't interested or the sums involved are too far apart.

"We'll give you a shit ton of tax-free money" "Sounds Good, Amigo" or something like that.

I think my boss is a fucking loser, but we work well together.

I honestly (and without any real insight other than gut feel) think that he's unhappy that we've been forced into selling Anderson and Minteh. I expect he'd have preferred to sell players like Almiron or whomever, or at least have more cast iron assurances about replacements? Plus he probably felt he had a good working relationship with Ashworth and the new execs are, at best, a period of uncertainty. Eddie will soon be happy enough if the owners throw him a few more players like Isak, Gordon, Bruno.

I can't tell if them selling Branthwaite for £60m+ will be sink them or save them. -
Well aye, he's not going to lean into it, or away from it too much. Just plot a steady course.

Of course they do, there's a Premier League tax for all top flight English clubs, as there is a rich club tax for a few of us, and a Newcastle tax because we're; rich, a Premier League club, a new threat to the established teams

Honestly, I'd have thought this would be the perfect time to have someone like Corbyn (but not Corbyn). A real firebrand who can rail against the handling of Brexit whenever the opportunity arises. Sure their incessant grumbling may be dismissed, but it would keep the conversation going, force the Tories to answer questions on it, force the media to talk about it.
