You've got this Strawb. Worry for whoever follows this with a moan about Wednesday being a bit shit because the person they don't like at the office is chairing an afternoon meeting or something...
-
They're 3rd in their league and are in the Cup Final. Wonder what's sparked the violence?

Playing a dynamic midfield of Smith Butt and Geremi, iirc They faced 6 of the eventual top 7 teams in Koeman's 9 games in charge. Even if that poor form had carried on throughout the entire season they would have stayed up. Had they got in Silva they may well have finished lower than they did, but the football would have been better and they wouldn't be looking to replace their manager again. £9m they reckon he got for those 6 months... Probably wouldn't have spent £27m on Tosun in January as well.

Tragic that.

I have. It is. Apparently West Ham, Everton and Newcastle fans are deluded for wanting more than Premier League survival though.

You have to be watching his movement off screen though, that's where the magic happens. -

Putting himself about a bit, getting onto crosses from the excellent Sessegnon, bullying Championship centre backs. -

Plus the players we've been linked with during Benitez' spell in charge; Jorgensen, Bas Dost, etc. Basically I think he wants a Demba Ba, type of player. There's loads of them knocking about on the cheap, right? -
Apparently he wasn't a long ball manager with them. And he's only got that reputation from his Bolton days. Or he was a Long Ball manager but that's only because of the team he inherited, y'see he's a manager that will play whatever style gets the best out of his team and you'll see that at Everton... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/everton-talking-to-allardyce-again.1405288/

Yeah probably. Bloody foreign managers stopping young British managers getting good jobs, etc. etc.

Bet every time the phone goes he's hoping it's Moshiri giving him the boot. Even when he was being interviewed about his future it was clear he couldn't give a toss about keeping the Everton job. Be interesting to see who they replace him with, might they try and tempt Dyche or Howe? I think the latter would be a very good appointment for them and a good step for him. I think he's taken Bournemouth as far as he can and if he could improve Everton and perhaps win them a cup or something then an even bigger job might be open to him, a job that at the moment he's unlikely to be considered for.

We're doing bits and pieces in the new house to put our own stamp on it after moving in. Mrs Fish goes off to visit her sister and I paint the 2nd bedroom the specific shade/tone/colour of white she's picked out and tested. Now, I'm painting over a really subtle orange colour. Maybe Spanish Cream or Spanish Cream Half on the Dulux chart https://www.dulux.com.au/colour/all-colours. I use one of those One coat tins and do the lot while she's out. First time I've ever painted a room and I have to admit I think I've done a pretty good job. "It still doesn't look white", so rather than argue I do another coat. "This wall still doesn't look white, are you sure you've used enough paint?" I begin doing a 3rd coat then realise the reason there's still one wall which looks like it might have a slight orange hue, is because the sun is reflecting through the window off the neighbours fucking red brick wall. Close the blinds and voylah, it's as white as a Jim Davidson audience. Then, over dinner, "Do you think the white is too cold for that bedroom?"

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

He was mint. That game against Spurs (4-0), he was unbelievably good. Scored two absolute screamers, terrorised their right back all game and laid on two goals for Shearer. Shearer still got man of the match in the stadium though. -

I think it's a little bit of both. Absolutely he's more capable in the deeper role as a more combative central midfielder, but I do think there'll be a regression. Fine with keeping him at the club, but I'd prefer to rely upon a better player in that pivotal role. If Merino becomes that player, brilliant, but if he doesn't I think we need to sign someone. Agree about Hayden for what it's worth. -

Think we need to replace Diame because, while he's been mint since Christmas, I just can't see him doing it again. -

I like Perez, but I'd like an upgrade on him obviously. Trouble is, if it's a straight choice between spending whatever a quality #10 would cost on his replacement, or putting that money towards a quality striker and his wages, I'd stick with Perez and get shot of Gayle/Joselu/Mitrovic/all 3. -

"resorting to abuse", the majority of our exchanges are me saying something reasonable and you replying with abuse. Maybe don't be a tedious cunt and I won't call you one? I've admitted I'm wrong plenty of times, on here, on twitter, on the podcast. I don't often lord it over people when my reasonable position is subsequently proven right. My wife is having a grand old time mate, how's yours? Ooops, sorry, how about your lass? No? What about your mam? Does she still enjoy holidaying with her ornery ray of impotent sunshine? -

Orrrrrrr Fish being reasonable and not spaffing his pants because we beat a disjointed Chelsea side on the last day of the season, predicting a top half finish (which could be 1st btw) and then Thompers rushing to his keyboard to act the cunt because he’s a tedious bellend -

Even the quality you mention, for those few to deliver the title is unheard of when they’re paired with shit like Simpson. I guess it’s semantics, but I look at their squad and it’s a miracle they won the league, a miracle. -
Disappointing for Notts County last night, but I fancy them to beat Coventry

£70-90m on a few players, flatten out the youth squad and I reckon a more comfortable top 10 finish.
