Would you feel the same if he'd cost £40m?
-
The consensus appears to be that Joelinton is written off. I think that's harsh given he's only been in the country for, what, 18 months? And he's played his entire Newcastle career under the tutelage of a sentient compost heap.
-
He's a young lad, playing in a new league, for a bad coach, in a shit system that, for the majority of his time here, had him isolated in an unfamiliar position and role. I agree that Gayle or Almiron should be ahead of him. But honestly, you'd think he was Ali Dia the way some of our fans are abusing him. The fee is the fault of the club, and I'd say more than half of the issue with his performances are because of the manager. He should still do better, but christ on a bike, he's not that bad.
-
Nah. There are two major factors in the level of abuse he's getting. His transfer fee and his performances. The first has fuck all to do with him. The second he can be held responsible for a portion, but not everything. Like I said, Bruce persisted with him as an isolated targetman despite it being obvious that he just isn't that kind of player. He's not even an actual striker ffs.
-
Yeah was only messing, I think Joselu suffered in a similar way to Joelinton. Newcastle needed a target man like Rondon, and Joselu was never that. Neither is Joelinton. Honestly if this was Joelinton's first season I don't think he'd be getting the same opprobrium.

Been watching this recently. It's a good tonic for the real world. Got a bit annoyed at the London episode though. Yes, Dishoom, Dukes and Borough Market amazing, but the rest... meh.

Is Hawley to Trump what Priti Patel is to Johnson?

Surely then, the best political strategy is to impeach him now, which takes him out the running for 24 and makes that election much less chaotic, divisive and violent? Then get someone who can appeal to the yeehaws with his heritage (white, southern, plain spoken), but appeal to the moderates with his rhetoric? Surely, if the Republicans let him run again he'll syphon off votes for someone who can actually win the country? Some of those that voted for Trump this time will have been appalled at the attack on the Capitol and his part in it. Obviously some will think it's brilliant, but they are a minority, in the scheme of things.

Would impeachment preclude him from taking another run at the presidency?

The Entirely Reasonable Potential Transfers Thread

Aarons is still only 25. Feels like he's been at the club forever. Showed flashes of talent, but end of the day, if he couldn't break into our first team regularly he'll never be Premier League quality. -
If Chelsea are paying for cameras and analysis equipment and it helps the boys club financially, then fine. I don't think either side of it are doing anything wrong. It's Ashley failing, yet again, to have a modicum of football business sense. Have ties with all the boys clubs in the region, throw pennies at them to foster a good relationship and you will have several production lines of saleable assets.

You mean FIFA21 Team of the Year nomination Joselu?

I met Mrs Fish through internet dating, but Tindr was exclusively used by people looking for a shag. I don't think my combination of face + pleonasm, prolixity, and verbosity would work well on Tindr. -
It was weird around our way, people who've never said a word to eachother in years smiling and waving as they smash pans together. Think it lasted about 4 weeks before people binned it off. I did it once, because I wanted to show support to the NHS, but then I realised they'd probably not hear it and would be better served if I just used my vote to make change instead. Then I remembered I live in a safe Tory seat and tumbled down the "everything is fucking pointless and shit" rabbit hole.

I immediately started wondering what they'd threatened him with to get him to read that out. There's no way that was written by him, and there's no way he wanted to do it.

I thought he lost it? That's mental. Did he still get a Presidential Library? Speaking of which, will Trump's just be a strip mall with a Trump-Merch store, a Burger King, and a casino/strip club. Ah, fair fucks. Cheers.

I think the only way to get the most out of Joelinton is to play him as part of a front 3, with a team that controls the ball and possesses great movement.

Wouldn't worry about that. -
Read somewhere that it just needs to be VP and majority of the cabinet? Pence won't get on the ticket again, surely? Too much Trump stink on him?

Any further news on the rumours that Pence might invoke the 25th Ammendment? Would Trump lose the 'President' honorific if he was removed from office? That, being blocked on twitter and having a mugshot without the fake tan and his hair styled might tip him over the edge.

You don't think any death would be interpreted by his fanatics as an assassination? Because I do. I think if he were to die any time soon the hordes of Appalachian arseholes would pile into their veehickles, lock and load and then non-violently protest by running people over and shooting them.

Sure, make a martyr out of him. His zealots would blame the pinko commie libtards and go full Falling Down. Better he's jailed and the Latin Kings run a train on him.

We're going in circles. You think he's the worst player to pull on a Newcastle shirt and is beyond redemption. I think that he's playing in a side managed by Steve Bruce and because of that, he (like everybody else) looks worse than they are.
