  1. Mark Gillespie has a shirt number. No way is he getting a chance.
  2. But isn't that no different to a player getting an unexpected leg break or something? Don't think it was a PSR mistake. Now, had Tonali been available all season but had been shit, then that is a PSR mistake in my book.
  3. So clearly them wanting to get in on the whole US Draft nonsense.
  4. Manchester United ‘learn’ asking price of Marc Guehi plus more transfer rumours - Manchester Evening News 21/10/2023 Man Utd were quoted £60m
  5. You've forgotten about how beautiful parts of County Durham are, and how grimy parts of Newcastle are. Therefore your reasoned argument is wrong.
  6. I don't think that's true, look at what Forest paid for Anderson, or what West Ham paid for Max Kilman. The market is all over the place. I blame Chelsea
  7. Well, that's accordion to you.
  8. Did the install really take an hour per fuel?
  9. For what it's worth I also predict that Maresca will be the first manager to leave his post. I don't think it'll be his fault, necessarily, just the task he's got is impossible. 40+ in the first team squad, plenty on big wages with the big egos that come with them. 1 win in 6, during pre-season. He's inexperienced, with only 67 games under his belt. Certainly inexperienced in the top flight, at a big club, with chaos around him and a demanding fanbase. The only one that pushes him close is Nuno Espirito Santo, partly because he's not great and Forest are in danger of unravelling, but chiefly because Marinakis is a lunatic.
  10. It seems like people still think teams can buy and sell as they did pre-PSR. Also, they haven't remembered we've a stack of new (actually professional) people running the show. We're not going to spend willy nilly, we're not going to spunk a ton of money on a risky player purchase. The business done in this window thus far is measured and deliberate. Some of it I can't claim to understand, but I've confidence that it's not some kind of scattergun approach. Like, Ruddy, I'm sure he's unlikely to ever start in a competitive game, but he'll have been brought in on modest wages to provide an experience voice in the dressing room for the first and youth teams. I'd expect him to be moving into some kind of coaching role. Kelly is a top-half-of-the-PL standard utility defender, that we've signed for no fee. Pivas is a young lad with potential, probably on for the U21s, but it's in a position where we haven't much depth. Osula is a young lad with potential, who'll happily play second fiddle to Isak and probably Wilson. Again in a position where we haven't much depth to call on, even from the youth teams. Vlachodimos is an odd one. It's a lot of money for a 2nd choice 'keeper (at best). One who hasn't played a lot for his old club. It could be some kind of PSR fiddle. It could be some kind of thank you for signing Wood and Shelvey off us? I dunno. We've tried to sign some good centrebacks (Adarabioyo choosing to ply his trade in Chelsea's car park, and Guehi). I don't think we're done for the window in that position either. I also think we'll be trying to address the right hand side. Almiron is a decent squad player, but because of PSR we can't afford to buy an upgrade without getting shot of some of the Ashley era players. If early in the window we could have got some money for Fraser, Hayden, Almiron etc. I'm sure we'd have had a new RW already.
  11. First time in a long while we've been able to say that.
  12. Or he's been sufficiently well trained in the media machine to know that if he says something fairly bland and generic it'll piss off the smallest amount of people possible. The only ones upset will be the permanently pissy pants people.
  13. Should move near me mate*. The school terms are one week off so you can get reasonably priced holidays. * not too close though.
  14. Or, of course, the genocide
  15. I was thinking our advert was missing a very old man babbling nonsense.
  16. Used to go on my own when I worked shifts. 8.7/10 would recommend.
  17. Maybe so, but bringing in a replacement alongside an established player is one thing, replacing both starting centrebacks is a whole other problem, right? You might be right any way, though.
  18. I wonder if Fulham's approach for Anderson is having an impact on these negotiations? If Palace were to lose Anderson and Guehi in one window, they'll need to spend a lot to replace them effectively. Also, if Guehi is the higher valued player, Palace must at least appear to play hardball for him, so that Fulham don't see them as a soft touch? I dunno, I'm just asking questions.. Get off my fucking back, you cunts.
