  1. Oooh a clickable link! Let me jusssswaaaaitaminute.
  2. A pathological sense of self entitlement? An almost sociopathic disregard for other people?
  3. Shit result but even in the second half we were better than we've been for the majority of the season. Some of the common faults of Bruceball returned; Shelvey dropped deeper and deeper as the game wore on, the instructions and confidence from the Everton game disappeared and players made more silly mistakes/bad decisions. Lost count of the number of times we passed sideways or back from promising positions, only to hoof it long and lose it. Palace had no interest in keeping the ball so a bit of patience in their half could have reaped rewards. Hendrick was anonymous in the second half and the movement of the attackers was wasted because we didn't have anybody to find them with a relatively simple ball. If Southampton could have picked any PL club to face after their 9-0 humiliation, it'd be this Newcastle side.
  4. 2-2 draw do you? Much, much better from the team and it's way too much of a coincidence that we get a new coach in and suddenly look like a new team. Genuinely looked like a team benefiting from a New Manager bounce. Slight tweaks to the formation, playing much higher up the pitch, changes to instructions, better set pieces. I don't believe for a second that Bruce has been sitting on these changes for 18 months then just happens to prise them from under his fat arse for this game.
  5. Twat. He is a real friend, he just goes to a different school.
  6. My Gooner mate says similar. "He's actually very good, I think he'll do well for you".
  7. It's just a little bit of history repeating.
  8. Or just move to a different area. Our delivery drivers don't knock too loudly, they leave it on the steps and back away until the door opens, then doff their caps and skip away cheerily whistling a merry tune. That's what you get in Cheshire; a bit of fucking respect.
  9. I love the reaction of Wall St to this, like a 7yr old having a paddy because the new kid is ruining it because they're not playing properly. Fuck 'em, fuck their slick back hair, fuck their braces, fuck their power ties, fuck their delusions.
  10. Mostly because of the people here. Some nice hills and that, but, most of the country are self-serving cunts.
  11. My concern is that we won't drop into the bottom three until there's only 8 games to go, or so (I realise how mental that is).
  12. That's an undeniably valid question. Reckon if Bruce loses the next two he'll be gone?
  13. Surely the pomp around this new coach is just an effort to distract from the football and the manager? It's not like they can do that with an exciting signing.
  14. He tweeted something about being a good person and being loyal and kind to friends when they're in trouble. While I can understand him defending Bruce from some of the personal abuse that's appeared online, the majority of the criticism has been of his ability as a Premier League manager, and for that there's no defence.
  15. Any rumours who it is? I know we've been linked with Williams, Willem, Choudry, but I've not seen owt today.
  16. Definitely felt like it was the players taking responsibility, rather than following instructions. Bruce will only get fired if we're in the bottom 3 for a couple of weeks/rounds of fixtures.
  17. Is it that select, though? Pardew, McClaren, Carver, Hughton (arguably), Shearer, Keegan II; Judgement Day, Bruce...
  18. Yeah, do not search for that term on twitter at your desk! That hashtag is definitely not safe for work.
  19. We chose our area because of the primary school catchment area. Mrs wanted to choose one for the local secondary but I figured that, in a decade, the excellent schools might be shit holes and the shit holes might be excellent. Plus, once I teach him how to play as a false 10 he won't need schoolun'
  20. Honestly think the problem is the number of tv shows where people breeze into a fixer-upper, and in 30 minutes they've got a dream house with a cinema room, a kitchen island and bifold doors. Even in those, the drama of builders and surveys are apparently immediately resolved. The only people I know who've actually benefited from a fixer-upper are the ones who can afford to pay a fortune, or people who're builders themselves. We're trying to get someone to come in and add a small splashback behind the bathroom sink, we've been chasing various tilers for fucking months. It's getting to the point Mrs Fish is considering letting me have a crack myself. So I can't imagine the fart on getting 3-4 tradesmen to work in sync for a bigger project.
  21. We managed to get the dream house for asking price because the original buyer offered more, then pulled out. Cheeky bastards wanted us to match that price, but we held firm and saved about £25k. Now we've got a house that we'll not move from in the next 20-30 years. We've spent a little here and there on a new bathroom and stuff, but we want to do the kitchen extension and the attic. So that'll be about £90k, but the way I see it, anything we spend on the house will be reflected in it's value, and the local estate agents have said the thing's already gone up in value by about £50k in 2yrs just because of the market in the area.. Just need a rich aunt to die/phat acca to land so we can pay for the work we want done in one fell swoop.
