Dear Wendy is decent.. quite trendy and odd though. never watch "Soul Plane" though.. it's truly truly terrible. It strikes me as a film made by a middle aged white man from scarborough, for a black audience. Utter Utter shite.

I think I watched some of it.. but I think it's one of those films were you should really give it your full attention to enjoy it. a lot like "Dude where's your car"

no-is doubting her exceptional willpower and skill on a boat... but build her a better boat and she could break the record again... I put it in the same category as F1 drivers; undoubtedly skilled, nerves of steel, but stick an average F1 driver in the best car and I'd bet he could win more races than Schumacher in an average F1 car... might be wrong like.

only really enjoyed Carey in Man in the Moon and the Mask oh and Ace Venturar pet detective has to be one of the worst films I've seen in a long bloody time.

I think I was the only person in the cinema to laugh out loud when the guy falling from the bow of the sinking ship twats his head off a chimney-thing and spins off into the sea... worth it though.

I had tried to argue that McArthurs skill was secondary to the machinery of the boat she was floating about in, also that her record was as much down to good weather as it was her expensive dinghy.. Mam asked if I wanted a cup of tea. to be fair I think this means she's won the argument.

I was fortunate in that I had intended to watch Star Wars, but it was sold out so I figured I'd watch this new Keanu Reeves flick. had heard nothing about it and it was one of those films that became my instant favourite, good idea, well executed and well shot. The Balsa wood performance of Reeves didn't really detract fromt he film. If I'd heard any of the hype I doubt I'd have been so impressed. Totally let down by the sequels though.

well I dunno about everyone else, but at the end of the film I was in floods of tears, muttering the same phrase over and over. "ten fucking quid that cost me... ten fucking quid..." however on the plus side the girlfriend at the time realised how much suffering she had just put me through and made it up to me by buying me a chinese takeaway... yeah that's going to get those 3 hours of my life back.

the only problem with old horror movies is that it's pretty impossible for them to maintain the fear factor so long after their release. The are a few films which can still get your pulse racing despite the effects improving, or the shot/angle has been replicated a million times, but they are a rare breed. hate titanic despite the impressive effects. Awful script, awful acting and awful concept. Dicaprio dies... great... but I reckon this film is the Westlife of movies. It's aimed at pubescent girls, it was only succesful because of the scores of pubescent girls and weepy types. It's the most over-hyped, pile of shite ever consigned to celluloid. if it was a great film then so are Matrix 2 & 3, they too had impressive effects and some stand out moments of cinema (the car chase scene in 2), but the overwhelming feeling was that of a total waste of a good idea and a big budget.

Smoothy, the car was a technical exercise, was it possible to make a car that could go that fast, that hard and that sexy? the answer is an incredibly excpensive machine which is simply the best four wheeled machine on the planet, even beating a Nova with a tin can exhaust and a shoddy-kit Clarkson drives because he's the most capable driver, and also I'm guessing he's the biggest ego on the show and would throw a hissy fit of AF proportions if he wasn't allowed to play in the nice new car.

didn't say it was a one off, but did mention that it cost £5m to make each also that flat out it ate all the petrol in it's tank in twelve minutes... and that if the Mclaren F1 was travelling at 140 (iirc) the bugatti would still beat it to 240 nice vehicle and I even found the aesthetics of it all, quite beautiful. that Marcos was.. I don't know it sort of reminded me of an old citroen and at the same time a TVR... I didn't like the look of the front, the lights weren't aggressive enough for the rest of the machine.

dotbum, your intent was not to say all people are foreign to someone, it was to paint me as racist. end of the day if you're innocent you should co-operate with the police. if we bleat and wail and gnash our teeth because a crazy man commited suicide-by-cop, then the true injustices and negligent acts by police will be drowned out by this nonsense. and yes overly precious folk suggesting that all police are gun toting maniacs is nonsense. We know the risks, we know to comply will benefit us and them... so why are there problems? because people are so wound up about protecting their civil liberties they're blinkered to the balance that must be struck. the guy was shot because he was acting suspiciously and claimed to be carrying a bomb. I'd rather he was shot than run the risk of him actually killing several hundred people. If you're innocent, comply with the authorities.
