1. nice of you to consider that maybe I might not agree with that either, but you box me into the same category as ... oh... I dunno...Bush? for the good of the global community these regimes must not be allowed to continue. There are far wiser people than us who will have far wiser ways to force these, frankly dark-age countries into advancement and progression. I'd expect that this view will be seen as typical western arrogance, but I don't think that stoning people to death is particularly contemporary. And no, I don't think any form of capital punishment is acceptable. I'm at a loss to see how head in the sand tactics will work? sanctions aren't working, neither is invasion, there must be a better way. I think a massive problem is that wonce the "Allies" waded into Iraq and Afghanistan they installed a democratic system without realising that the population were not ready to make a fair and valid judgement. I forget the two countries but I remember reading that two countries won independence from the UK. The African Country tried immediately to install western philosophies and systems despite their country and countrymen being ill-prepared for it, the country that broke away in Asia installed a five year plan, and arranged their government to take them to the next stage. The African wanted it all, and they wanted it now, the Asian Country wanted it all, but saw the pitfalls that they would face if they did not approach it cautiously. the African country is still in serious financial problems with armed militia roaming the country, the Asian country is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. My point is, ok, so violence simply begets violence, but that doesn't mean we have to give up all avenues of change. 88853 Wonce you say? 88854 I HERE what you're saying
2. Rob, do you think it is a good idea for countries where the extremists and radicals hold power to have in their posession a weapon that makes all others obsolete? I know the easy fix (and frankly stupid) answer is to say that the Americans have an extremist and a radical in charge. But I think we all know that the Americans (misguided and reactionary as they might be) aren't about to launch a nuclear weapon at Cuba because of an age old dispute. Can we say the same about Iranians? Palestinians? Israeli? etc. etc. even if this government is pretty stable, what about the man who holds power in five years time? in a perfect world we wouldn't need to stifle nuclear arm production, because we'd all get along. The trouble is where there are extremists on both sides there will always be the risk of somebody doing something horrifc. but of course, the Americans are just bullies and their leadership is maniacal .

4. well I suppose just because he's a talentless oik... it doesn't neccesarily follow that he will have nothing to contribute to the governmental debate.. June Sarpong (sp?) surprised me when she was on Question time, had some decent points and sounded, well, educated
5. to be fair to him Viana did come highly rated and I think everybody could see the potential there, he just couldn't adapt tot he English Game. the south American debacle's aside the Network was the important thing. Robson made some bad signings, but he also signed some players who completely turned the clubs fortunes around. call them anything you like, but Bellamy, Robert and Bernard were three players who added pace, penetration and flair to a side that was lacking those very things.
6. ..you're thinking of SMO mate you lob anything at me and I'll slap an injunction order on you so fast you'll not have time to put the lobbing limb back in your pants tbh Glen Roeder is Fucking Brilliant He will not get £50 Million He'll save us from relegation Then He'll improve race relations not sure about the last line like...but I have faith in the man..
7. "hear it" tbh Not Sven, Goran not Sven Goran Eriksson It's Roeder, It's Roeder Don't Shout you'll pop yer stitching (to the tune of "Referees a wanker" Glen Glenm, he's our man, if he can't do it... it's down the the poor morale at the club, and lady luck and injuries and poor pitch and dodgy climate and a lack of "Proper Players" and too much expectation around the club and the fishbowl mentality of the north east football fans... We don't want Glen Roeder We want Martin-bliddy-O'Neill (to the tune of that dance song in the charts at the monet... "I don't want your body".. or something.
8. you...you give me love I never Had I...I will never make you Sad.... Lyrical GENIUS
9. it's amazing what a 20 years with two sisters and a mother, a few years living with predominately female company and a short fuse will do to your global conciousness.
10. getting tired of the constant tolerance of intolerant regimes to be honest. few can argue that the "lives" that women endure in certain extreme countires are nothing short of servile existence. Now, I may not be the most empathic or understanding man around, I know damned well that women have as many rights and duties as men, and are certainly not objects to be controlled, nor are they serfs who's sole task is to serve and obey the man. Call me narrow-minded, but I doubt that there are many western women sympathetic to our middle eastern brothers. I'm surprised that people are surprised at the outcome of the elcetions.. of course Hamas would win, they win because they've the best propaganda, the "educators" and the strength of the media behind them. the only hope is to educate the population, so they can make an informed and valuable judgement on the candidates before them, rather than putting faith in democracy. The promises offered by extremists cannot be matched by liberals. But of course lets tolerate them, for these are our cousins across the globe, they may have different views on the value of female life, they may see progression from tradition as sacreligious, they may view any deviancy as a capital punishment, but we have to tolerate them. bollocks. fed up with all this "western world is evil" clap-trap, if you're so unhappy turn in your western goods, reject your western values, bog off to baghdad and live merirly there instead. No we're not perfect, but at least the west is permissive of progress. /rant
11. should have been shot "resisting arrest" tbh cleaner safer quicker cheaper
12. hoping for some degree of witticism in this thread, alas alak, there was none to be found
13. to be fair all this media specualtion about how secure my job is has affected the players, so if all the reporters could leave us alone we'd perform a lot better. Also the pressure from the fans is clearly having a detrimental impact on the morale of my proper players, so if they wan't their team to win it'd be handy if they could not come and watch. I promise that after every game I'll pass word through the chairman and the local rag how well we've played... I promise I won't lie and I'll absolutely take the blame for any and every defeat and never once will I blame luck, the conditions or injuries...
14. .. they're not... they're a cultural group
15. serves her right if you let a little dirty deposit on her bedspread. you heard this myth that the male G-spot is up the arse? A female medic I live with tells me it's not, it's at the base of the Penis and while you can access it that way, it's equally stimulated through you having penetrative sex with a lass (or lad I suppose) by it rubbing or being pushed agaisnt the pelvic bone. little bit of layman biology for you SMO
16. consanguinious can mean cousins who have had children together, but it can also infer that parties are from the same group, be it literally blood relatives, or just members of the same social circle tbh. and alex, when I used the term pluralist I meant that while you might be pluralist when it comes to religion, you are not so accepting of the different sections of society, be they "dweeby", students, fta, bald, old, young, etc.etc.etc. I'm sorry about ruining your "I'm gay and want to guage the reaction of this peer group before coming out properly" thread SMO, it's the pedants on the board who should shoulder the most blame. Taking a girl up Barrymore's Boardwalk isn't high on my list on essentials, but if she ... indicates willing, them I'm not about to refuse a ladies request. and the if I had to bum or be bummed, I'd most definitely notwant to be the pillow biter thankyouverymuch. it's bad enough when you're getting head and she tries to slide a sneaky digit up there ... first, last and only time I've willingly backed away from her lips before I was done.
17. Pluralist-n 1: a philosopher who believes that no single explanation can account for all the phenomena of nature 2: someone who believes that distinct ethnic or cultural or religious groups can exist together in society
18. I won't say that I didn't receive that gem recently, but it was in context and absolutely the correct word to use, I'm sorry if I was being a little prententious in showing my slightly recondite vocabulary. I'm quite the sesquipedalian stylist.
19. Damn. I really will have to hand in my Gay Card now. And yeah, what's going on here, Smoothie dearest? You've really come over a little queer this week (and I'm not talking about Wacky)... 87109 I'm just trying .....the gay .....members of this forum, I have time for anal ....... but there's that many of them that your forced .....to spread the love .... 87133
