  1. Yup, he's usually pretty balanced. And, seems fairly clued up. Normally his stuff is in line with the other well-known football finance guy, Kieran Maguire. Maguire has recently said that we'll need to be careful about FFP when it comes to UEFA competitions. New rules brought in recently mean that spending is more linked to turnover than it's ever been. Another example of UEFA cowed by the entrenched elite who're trying to bring up the drawbridge.
  2. Here's a player, now here's all the reasons why we shouldn't sign him. Good work Polarboy, ya big Jabroni. This is why I didn't believe any shit about our transfer budget. We're in the enviable position of having the funds and the FFP wiggle room to buy players who're interested and available. Plus because of the neglect to the squad for fucking ages, most of the new signings know they're likely joining as first team regulars. Honestly, I think the only things slowing us down are getting shot of the deadwood like Gayle, Clark etc. and we're not going to be taken for fools by clubs or agents e.g. Ekitike. If Paqueta and Diaby are available at the right price and want to come, we could definitely buy both. Since Oct 21 we've spent £190m on players with 4-5yr deals (bar Trippier and Wood). So we've still a fair amount of wiggle room in FFP terms.
  3. He looks like an Aldi Michael Jackson.
  4. To be fair, there's some bangers on there. Although, there is also this...
  5. He's pretty fucking good. Not great defensively, mind.
  6. Finally bought a turntable and speakers, getting an amp later. I have maybe, 10 records so need to fatten out my collection. Any absolute, stone cold, must haves?
  7. Says you? Been phoning it in for years haven't you. Bet you went outside when people clapped the NHS just so you could take a collection bowl round. Leech.
  8. I'm telling you right now, if we gave PSG anything for the signing of Moussa Diaby, they'd accept it and laugh all the way to the bank.
  9. Rolling, afaik. Wouldn't make much sense to do it on different periods.
  10. Even if you put £50m on last season's accounts, they're still in a financial hole. So even if some of the £350m loss could be attributed to COVID for the previous 3yr period, they haven't suddenly made £200m profit to get them back within the £100m loss for this new 3yr period, right?
  11. Everton made something like c£350m losses over the past few years, when you're allowed to make c£100m losses. I have no idea how they've managed to convince the authorities that this is due to COVID but they have. It's utter bullshit and they should not only be facing transfer sanctions, but Leeds and Burnley surely have a case for compensation. Anyway, Selling Richarlison for c£50m gets some money back, and gets a presumably high earner off the wages. There's still a fucking huge financial hole they need to dig themselves out of. They'll likely need to sell others like DCL as peddling fringe players for £5-10m isn't really going to cut it. Issue with that is that if Calvert-Lewin leaves, the only remaining natural Centre Forward in the first team squad is Rondon. The only striker I've seen them seriously linked with is Emmanuel Denis from Watford, but the price would surely be a stumbling block?
  12. Just an update to this. Had a zoom call with my boss', boss' boss. Spent 40 minutes of a 30 minute call talking about holidays, where we went to university, football and all that shit. At the end of the call he said he was impressed with my work and when he's next down in Manchester with my boss' boss he'd like us all to have a chat about a project that's coming up and then all go out for dinner. Oh, and today is a group-wide "Spirit of Me" day, where there are no internal meetings, no expectations for any work to be done. It's about taking time to do what benefits you, it can be studying, or organising, or joining a webinar about Women in business, or some mindfullness, or doing stuff with your family...
  13. Ignore the rest of these arsehole. Glad 2nd date went well mate.
  14. I agree. Jesus is a very good player, but is he a difference maker in terms of their aims for the season? I'm not sure.
  15. If I was a better detective, I'd have anticipated that.
  16. Batman's thing is that he's "The World's Greatest Detective". What did you think the D in DC stands for?
  17. This isn't Easter, bucko. You won't see Jesus rise again.
  18. I liked The Batman. Few clunky bits, but it was better than I thought it would be. Thought the antagonist was well done and liked that it leant harder into the detective side of the character, rather than the wham bam k'pow side of things.
  19. Raphina Jesus Richarlison Fucking easy peasy.

I would happily make plans to meet up with CT in Chester.
  21. She lives round my way. See her sometimes in Altrincham.
