I did think of his confidence when I posted it, but thinking your good is a prerequisite of being good. Thinking you're good doesn't make you good. Otherwise I'd be a good person.

ditto

Called the Scouse comedian I used to work with to get his opinion and he said;

It's difficult, but you've got a huge, huge pull. Pep, Loads of quality teammates, tonnes of cash and all that jazz. You'll not be hampered by PSR either. It absolutely is prerequisite. You can't be a good manager if you don't think you are.

You can say that again.

And a man of no small amount of ego. He's going nowhere man. You'll sign someone in the window, or maybe a few, and you'll end up challenging for 2nd spot at the very least.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Yes, I have. He who is better than you. -
I've lived in a few different places and can assert with some confidence that there are some peoples who stay true to the stereotype; Scousers, South Africans and Parisians. You might have had nice relationships with Scousers, and found them humble and self deprecating. But that isn't the stereotype, nor is it my lived experience. And it's not like I didn't have negative stereotypes about Londoners, Mancs, Brummies, Scottish, Aussies, Midlanders, mackems (ffs) and so on. They've proved those stereotypes wrong, or at least shown them to be wildly exaggerated. Not the same with the Scouse. Could it be that you are so defensive of scousers because you lived there? I see the same from my wife who studied there at Uni. I wonder if by living there you've become a little scouse yourself, or had scouseness foisted upon you?

Oh, 3 month's you say? 12 weeks...

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

I wouldn't try and be Pep at the minute at all. Bald fraud. -
My Bill Withers joke is beyond reproach.
-
The fucking gall to make that kind of joke after your behaviour in the joke thread, it's almost impressive.
-
It's not like. I'm not being lazy by remembering my interactions with scousers. And I'm not lying either. And I know you can get these kinds of morons from everywhere, but when I cannot think of one scouser who hasn't acted that way, it speaks volumes. The Mancs round here will happily tell you what's wrong with Manchester, so too will the Yorkshire friends of my wife criticise where they're from. I mean you say the same thing I'm saying with your "they have a very strong partisan regional identity", it's just I have the cajones to call it what it is.

So does Bradford... still a shithole though.

If you chat with someone from elsewhere about Newcastle, you can speak of the positives and when they suggest that there's thiings lacking, or not as positive most Geordies will agree. Some might make allowances, or offer mitigation, but no Geordie is going to stand there and claim Northumberland Street is as good as Milan, or that Byker is a great place for frothy coffees and smashed avocado. Try the same with a Scouser and they'll lose their fucking mind, insisting that their city is the bestest, most glorious settlement ever to grace the world. Best at music (have they had anything truly great since the Beatles?), best at football, best at humour, nicest people (are they fuck), best best best and absolutely zero faults. I've no problem with regional pride, as long as it comes with even a little fucking humility.

Could he be our Milner?
-
No doubt he kept his head down, and tried not to draw any attention to himself then.
-
I'm glad. That humanises you. With your chubby little tumtum.
-
You put on the Christmas timber already?
-
I wouldn't take that recommendation even if you made it

Ignore these cunts, where'd you get it from? We need a second tv. The one in the front room is too often playing kids tv shows, so we need somewhere I can watch my superhero stuff.

Just getting over an ear infection. Took 3 trips to the GP to get it properly diagnosed mind you. First time the Doctor was pretty dismissive, "I can't see anything just take some ibuprofen it'll clear up in a couple of days". 2 days without sleep due to the pain I go back, I see a different Doc who says she can see that it's an outer ear infection, she sends me off with a spray for the ear and some codeine for the pain. 2 more days without sleep I see an actual grown up Doctor and she sees bubbling on the ear drum, and the haggard look on my face, immediately writes a prescription for Co-Codaprin, Amoxicillin, no caffeine, don't get it wet, rest, hydrate, all that good shit. I've come online as much to get out of helping look after the 9 month old as it is to get some actual work done.
