  1. I don't think that's the rationale mate. I don't think it's been cancelled to avoid a widespread backlash, I think it's been cancelled for the same reason businesses up and down the country have announced their offices are closed. Because we live in a constitutional democracy. Whatever it is, it's not 'woke'.
  2. If we'd signed another midfielder to do the dirty work, I'd be open to that. But right now, we've got an absolute monster in midfield who's never shown much when played up front in the PL. Sign Maddison and another forward option in January and we've got a really good side, imo.
  3. That's not woke, though. Didn't 'woke' begin as a term used by POC to label anyone aware of the issues that they're facing? It's since been bastardised by the right to as a replacement for Do-Gooders/Political Correctness/Health and Safety gone mad. Basically used to denigrate anyone with an overt social conscience?
  4. Re-reading this thread is a rollercoaster. Mackems, SMB, Ken, xG, pegging, me being consistently right, it's got it all!
  5. In what world has delaying a guinea pig thing been in anyway linked to 'woke'?
  6. I wonder what happens when Putin is replaced. I'm want to expect some kind of chaotic collapse, but is there someone capable waiting for their turn?
  7. I totally agree. I'm sure I could have found a nice house, walking distance from the beach, or some kind of Outdoor Activity Park TM and not far from good restaurants. But NOOOOoooOOoOoooo "It's all in one place" says Mrs Fish, like that's a good thing. You know what else is all in one place? The Projects.
  8. Didn't even realise we'd missed out on that. Did notice a huge number of Slavic-types milling about in blue tabards with cleaning supplies as we were leaving the park, just assumed they were the next group of guests...
  9. Odds on him getting a red card on his first game back? I'm hoping for a similar impact for Wolves as Rush had with us.
  10. The Mrs and little lad are off on Mondays, so if the choice is left up to me, I might take a day in lieu. If that makes me a bad husband and Dad, then that's the way it is.
  11. Aye, Mrs Fish is currently binging the Crown, watched Charlie's speech and will 100% want to watch the funeral. This means I'll take the lad to the park that's closest to a pub for the duration.
  12. The level of interest will diminish though. Especially for Leeds. The Liverpool game is a different matter. There's a strong republican base in Liverpool and an anti-'establishment' point of view. Plus, they do like to make things about them. Dunno the best way to manage that fixture, personally I'd propose a minute's applause.
  13. Heard nothing about getting the day off yet. But ours is an international business so it may be that we don't. Not fussed either way as I do fuck all on a Monday anyway
  14. Partly, also partly because of the likelihood that some Scouser's will boo, and partly because some Leeds fans will use any excuse to cause bother.
  15. Come off it man, I tried to blag leaving the car outside our gaff but we got a passive aggressive "Thank you for helping keep the park free for everyone to enjoy by parking your car in the provided car park." with the threat hidden in the small print "If you do not remove your car you'll be asked to leave the site."
  16. Maybe they all had Groupon vouchers or whatever? The overwhelming majority were not middle class though. Or at least they didn't act, talk, or dress middle class. You're right though, once you're in the park it's extortionate. They also force you to park your car away from where you're staying (unless you pay for the premium treehouse things). So it's not like you can just drive to a Sainsbury's local or whatever. The on-site market was charging £4.50 for a pack of anaemic looking 'ham'. The price and the fact that I'd seen quite enough sallow looking pig flesh, put me off it.
  17. I was hoping for a more continental breed of pleb. Oliver's Travels it is then.
  18. Met her when I was about 10. Now we've ended up living fairly close.
  19. Centre Parcs isn't middle class, man. Well, I guess the massive treehouse things might be, but the majority isn't. Definitely not the restaurants and pool area. We were having a meal and across from us we saw a Shamuette tuck a paper napkin BETWEEN THE CHINS ON HER NECK! Like it was totally normal. Plus, like I said, Mackems were there. Think we'll do Eurocamp abroad next time.
