It's not just his finishing, which is excellent, it's his movement, touch, intelligence and his technique too. In terms of finishing; he's had 6 seasons in the PL where he's put 20+ goals away, and throughout his career he's averaged about 0.7 goals a game, 0.6 a game without penalties or slightly better than 1 goal every 2 games. Dunno where you stand on xG (and I'm not looking to get into an argument about that) but he consistently exceeds his xG. Which means that he scores even more goals than you'd expect given the chances he's had. His movement is excellent how often do his goals look like an easy chance? It's more often than not because he's chosen the right time to make his run to the back post, or his dart to the near posts forces one defender to block another. You can see the intelligence and technique whenever he drops deeper and propels Spurs up the pitch with sprayed passes or really clever subtle touches. I think while Harry Kane suffers from being interminably dull off the pitch, nothing on the pitch is particularly exciting either. Even his 30 yarders don't, I dunno, feel(?) thrilling. There's something almost pedestrian in their excellence? He's so professional, so practised that it's not impressive. He never beats a player with something unpredictable like Henry did, he's not got tonnes of pace, he's just a little sharper, a little stronger or a little smarter in the moment.

Does it really matter who they replace Conte with? They're like Man Utd, in a way, they can attract the calibre of player and manager that should deliver European finishes most seasons, and that's the priority for their owners.

Nowt will happen with Everton. It should, but it won't. I would crease if they're docked points when Man City haven't been. Even if they do get docked points it won't happen until next season anyway, right?

I've no doubt that in the unlikely event that we become a Premier League behemoth, winning major trophies every season, with world class players warming the bench in our world class stadium, we might become a little jaded about a League Cup win. But how far down the line is that frankly unlikely future? 20 years? 30 years? I don't think anything's going to take the shine off the celebrations that level the city when we win our first trophy, nor our second. And those mackems shouting loudest about how any win is tainted, and anyway there won't be any wins, aren't even kidding themselves.

On paper, yes. But there's surely no appetite to get rid of Howe. Cheap, over-delivering, got the fans and team on board. Any change would be a big gamble and one I think they'd only take if Howe stops delivering.

I understand flying for any trip over 3hrs in the coach to be honest. You can have hundreds of millions of pounds worth of assets that have a time sensitive schedule. Trains or road travel may be more ecological, but are at the whims of the notoriously poor British transport system. Imagine the law suits flying around if the Avanti West Coast breaks down outside Birmingham and the title decider between Man City and Arsenal in April is postponed, or the Arsenal team aren't able to get proper rest or training in before the game?

And £35m is significantly less than I think Manchester United would ask in return for Scott McTominay.
