You got a decent pizza dough recipe? (Who was it who didn't like pizza? I bet it was some mockery of a person, some fraction of a man)

Just checked and in the same time period, big spending Man City have spent €2.5bn since 1992. €500m to not only catch a consistently high spending opposition, but overtake them from a position of yoyoing obscurity.
-
They're a poor impoverished club, battling against the odds to compete with big spending rivals scraping by on - checks notes- € 986,600,000.00 in his Klopp's 8 seasons, on top of €1bn spent since the inception of the Premier League. Also bear in mind, this is nigh on €2bn spent on top of a team that was challenging for the title 18 of the previous 20 seasons and last finished outside the top 8 in 1962. Poor lambs.

Do these fuckers not realise the takeover happened 21 months ago? We're way ahead of schedule, 2-4 seasons ahead of where we likely planned to be. I'm sure they were anticipating a season or two competing in the Europa, maybe a season where we challenge for the top 4. Instead we spent 21/38 game weeks in the top 4. Sure, we were benefiting from other clubs having, by their estimations, poor seasons, coupled with our own rapid improvement. But I don't think anyone was expecting Newcastle to leap from bottom half obscurity to Champions League favourites within such a short span of time.

I think it's a little from column A and a little from column B. One thing is definitely clear, we won't engage in a bidding war. We have our valuation and won't be moved from it. That valuation will 100% be informed by our FFP envelope.

Of all the things I expected for 2023, CT becoming a Cryptobro was definitely in the top 3.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
The Fish replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
Watched this last night and if his vulnerability encourages more people to talk, then it's a worthy thing. It's disgusting that he's been forced to talk so soon after getting out of rehab, because the fucking gutter press in this country will never have their bloodlust sated. For him to say that he doesn't blame his mother is staggering, I'm not sure if I'd been through the things he has, I'd have anything but anger and resentment towards both her and his father. It shows that the help he got has really helped him. I'm not sure he'll ever reach the heights he seemed destined for, but he spoke so well and so honestly that I'm sure that any mental health organisation will benefit from him advocating for them. Have to say I thought Neville handled it well also, he wasn't probing for scandal too much, allowed Dele time to speak and appeared to genuinely empathise with him. Perhaps an opening for other sportsmen and women to speak about their own troubles? -
I also have a wife. She's real and everything.

Lancashire? I live in Cheshire. I think the tea of choice here is prosecco.
-
Remember when Edwards said our Summer budget would be £90m. It was £160m Or when he said there was no chance of the takeover in 2021, just 80 days before it did.

I think my Mrs would file for divorce if I brought that home. She doesn't even drink tea.

Dummett just signed a new deal. Funny isn't it, when the Saudi teams were bought by PIF it was sure that Newcastle would sell all their dross for huge fees and so far, it's Chelsea that've benefited most.

So, we all packing this silly nonsense in? I mean, after this heartbreaking and up til now unknown fixture, the whole renaissance of NUFC is worthless, right?
-
Also, isn't the cost of Russia winning the war unacceptable?

Crows hold grudges, so they better tread carefully.

Die Geordies Die, the Steven Taylor chant, Bobby Robson, now this. Classy.

Petnapper Dave is making a killing though.

I was convinced to sign up for that Nextdoor app, thing. What a pile of absolute shite. Half of it was "Have you seen this cat" and the rest was passive aggressive arguments about parking/builders

That's fair. I just think ASM will command a bigger fee now, even after Almiron's good season. Given our commercial revenue will continue to increase I don't think we need to worry too much about getting a big fee for Almiron, especially as he's more of a round peg for Howe's style.
-
With CL games on top of our usual league season, there'll be plenty of opportunities for players to get starts and with the 5 sub rule there's plenty of opportunities for players to get minutes too. I don't see it being a big issue for most of the team. Wilson and ASM might struggle to handle not being first choice.
-
If we're only shifting one, do we sell the guy who got double figures last season, who is perfect for the way Howe has us playing, and who has a cheeky little grin, Orrrrrrrr sell the more gifted but ultimately inapposite, perma-crock with the NFT side hustle?

When you put things in these "" it means that thing is a verbatim quote. I didn't say Barnes was more creative than ASM, I said he would replace ASM's creativity. and he would. Across their Premier League careers, So, HB has fewer shot creating actions, but more goal creating actions. Defensively per 90; It's not even close. I want to be clear, I like ASM, he's fun to watch. But where we are now, we've a chance to actually win things and fun to watch isn't enough any more. When we were dossing about the midtable, managed by the human equivalent of bin juice, the only things that got me interested in watching a match were a sense of duty and Saint Maximin. But now, we've got several seriously good players, playing good football.

He's dead to me.

Educate yourself, before you humiliate yourself. 🤔 Rumour review | NUFC Transfer Links | Wingers & Forwards - June 2023 (substack.com) Specifically the line breaking passes and finishing. And Barnes will improve with better players around him, ASM needs to be the focus of a team and that will never happen at Newcastle.
