Educate yourself, before you humiliate yourself. 🤔 Rumour review | NUFC Transfer Links | Wingers & Forwards - June 2023 (substack.com) Specifically the line breaking passes and finishing. And Barnes will improve with better players around him, ASM needs to be the focus of a team and that will never happen at Newcastle.

Going off the rest of their posts, these aren't kids. These are grown men who gleefully "lol" at "Poocastle", who fetishise the hooligan culture, who either post or accept posts about the Mag at Work as gospel. Grown men with, you'd assume, jobs, family, responsibilities. Now, I can totally get behind stupid digs at each other's club and fanbase amplifying around a derby, but what appears to be insidious on that messageboard is the wholly accepted version of reality where there's a conspiracy against them but the very worst thing that could happen to us is definitely happening, everybody else hates us so much that they all throw their games against us when we win, or where one easily disproven idea/theory/opinion can become hardwired into their brain. Their own little batshit 'the moon shadows are wrong' soundbite.

It's when they state as fact that only Newcastle fans wear club shirts on holiday, or around town. Only Newcastle fans make a tit of themselves on public transport. Only Newcastle fans sing songs about their rivals at important matches which aren't against them. Only Newcastle fans etc. Set aside the fact that Sunderland fans do all the above and more, it's commonplace across the country. Fans in Blackburn shirts in the home end of some random Championship team when Burnley came to play. Chelsea fans being pricks on the Tube. Some Spurs fans singing about Arsenal on their Champions League away days. The way that lot go on, you'd assume that Newcastle are alone in having that kind of behaviour among their fans. At least we don't shit on our seats though, that is a distinctly unique mackem trait.

Nah, £30m isn't very much. £70k pw, until 2026. He's 26yr old and a really creative player when fit. Would be a real difference maker for a team like Crystal Palace. Any midtable team who puts an emphasis on defence and are in need of an attacking outlet.
-
What's wrong with that? They usually work Saturdays and Sundays anyway.

If someone were to offer £40m for ASM we should take it. He's an exciting game changer for a team, but he's just too injury prone. When we didn't have an actual tactician in the managers office ASM was clearly our biggest threat to other teams. Now he's still a threat, but our overall game doesn't need to rely on him as much. At this stage of our evolution we play a more complete game without him, we need to be shrewd in the transfer window and selling him frees up a bit in wages and a sizeable chunk in transfer fee. He must be on about £70k pw, that plus a £35m fee would make it easier to bring in Barnes who can not only replace ASM's creativity, but also provides better tactical awareness/defensive cover. When we're trophy gobbling behemoth, we can sign someone like ASM, for the lols.

Not sure if it was the cast or the less familiar setting but I didn't get into it as much as the first. Couple of stand out episodes, the one retelling the actions that got John Basilone his Medal of Honor, specifically. There's a third instalment coming out later this year on Apple tv (I think) called Masters of the Air.

Besides the older fans who might have hazy memories of players from ye olde Sunderland, the younger ones will say Pickford or Henderson, surely?

This is what I'm worried about Gordon burning out after a long ass season. -
