You forget that their stadium is a tourist destination of some renown. Who wouldn't want to park in an industrial estate and gawp at the majestic wonder of a flat pack arena the likes of which are never seen outside of Reading, Middlesbrough, Southampton, Stoke, West Brom, Swansea, Cardiff... Then stroll around that industrial park, buy some tiles, get an MOT. Takes about an hour so if you get it in just before kick off there may be a delay on pick up as you fight your way through the exodus.

I doubt Endo was a panic buy, but I don't doubt he wasn't first, second or third choice for that position. The way he reportedly plays doesn't seem to mesh with what you'd expect from a Klopp side, they've usually played with one or two players in that 6 position. To control and create from deep. Endo isn't that.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Guarantee that a good number of clubs in the Pyramid have had conversations about risk vs reward. Everton's conversation will have been longer than most. -

On Wearside? They'll regret that. -

It's all right, they're off to sign someone who averages 6 goals in the Premier League. They'll be just fine. -
If that's their transfer policy it's fucking stupid and self destructive.

I can understand why so many countries don't want England to do well, after all our horrible imperialism. Not like Spain, of course.
-
Wife and sister in law really keen to watch it, seemed shocked that I wasn't that bothered. They're now talking about that Tyson Fury show. Spain look fitter (steady MF), and better technically. Huge spaces all over the pitch, but passing has been very poor. It looks like England are playing 5 at the back, but they're getting overrun every time.

Another one of those players that his own fans live, opposition fans get wound up by. Gordon is becoming ours, I'm sure he's a lovely lad off the pitch, but he's a right prick on it. Had we played to the levels we can hit I think we would have caused you way more problems, even if restricted to those few chances we had, we would have taken them and made a game of it. To be honest before a ball was kicked I was expecting 0-2 points from the first four games, so to have 3 already is encouraging. I'd much rather face Man City away early in the season. Imagine having to go there in April or May needing to get something. So we've got through the hardest fixture of the season, with no suspensions, hopefully no injuries, and only conceding 1 goal. But CT is pissing his sheets again?

Had to Google him. Still none the wiser

Richarlison is a right useless whiney cunt, isn't he? Can see him farmed off on loan to Everton or Fulham or somewhere next season.

Just said exactly the same thing. Defended well on the whole, kept the bionic man quiet, had a couple of chances even though their press did for our midfield and our forward 3 didn't do much at all. Still only lost 1-0 to a truly exceptional finish. Just watched Liverpool's highlights on MOTD, fancy us against them, not least because Howe won't accept two listless performances from our lads.

It'll get overturned

Amrabat would be a good signing for them, I thought he was most likely moving to Man Utd? Well the next all action Midfielder will be Lewis Miley and they can fuck right off

It both impresses and troubles me that you found that so quickly.

It's very corporate video, isn't it? That episode is about how important a new sponsor is, right? Really handy to have footage of Staveley in the back of a black cab 'just after the League Cup Final' saying "Man United were just better on the day, because they've spent a fortune, which is why a new sponsor is vital". Because that's 100% candid camera stuff. Fuck off man There's a lot of stuff that makes my pinko commie heart throw up, but it is what it is, I guess.

I'm just humble enough not to mention my books on here.

I think it'll end up as Endo, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai as a midfield 3. Endo operating predominantly as the deepest of the three. Trent has been pushing up and inside, into central midfield, with Robertson shuffling over to make a 3 man defence (much like Burn does with us). From all I've watched and read about Endo, I've no doubt he's a decent player. I just think that with Liverpool's suspect defence and with the rest of the team so attack minded, they could ship a lot of goals. What they needed, in my opinion, was a true defensive midfielder. Unfortunately for them Chelsea fucked everybody by paying >£100m for Enzo Fernandez (at the time thought to be a defensive mid), which meant Rice and Caicedo weren't going for less than that. Liverpool were convinced to pay £100m for Caicedo, but there just aren't a lot of genuinely top tier DMs around that you could convince me are 'worth' £100m, even in this market. Mind you, we signed Tonali, Barnes, Livramento and Hall for a few million less than they paid for Caicedo and Lavia, so clearly Chelsea don't know what the fuck they're doing.

Going off that video and other stuff, it does seem to me like Endo is closer to a number 8 profile, than a number 6. He may be a pressing number 8, but he's not a player around which you can pivot play. I know they've got Trent moving into midfield, but where they had Fabinho and Henderson who were happy to sit in there and be that jumping off point, I'm not sure Endo or Trent provides that.
