  1. Who was the young lad who made a few appearances in preseason. fwiw, I think in Isak, Wilson plus Barnes, and Gordon I think we're fine for depth up front. the only place we're really short is RCB.
  2. I'm bookmarking this for whenever someone questions me in the future.
  3. The way I've read the reports, it's not a loan deal we're ultimately after, it's a permanent transfer. Not sure we can manage that this window without breaking FFP, unless we obfuscate the purchase from the books by doing a loan with an obligation. If that happens the money will be accounted for in next season's books. I'd be delighted with Hall, he's a tremendous prospect, but I'd still rather we were signing a RCB.
  4. Being generous here, maybe he was impressed with Aston Villa because he now expects that high level of performance from Newcastle?
  5. Depends who we're facing I guess. Sometimes Longstaff is the right player to bring on, sometimes it'll be Willock.
  6. Singlehandedly the biggest cause of deforestation in that particular area.
  7. Didn't they ban contracts over 5 years? Yet somehow he's got an 8yr deal with an option to extend?
  8. I don't think I've started a match thread since Benitez's time. I have no interest in doing it again.
  9. Signing of the season: Tonali Top goalscorer: Isak Most assists: Gordon Biggest surprise: Murphy remains a squad stalwart. Best Young player: Livramento Player of the season: Joelinton PL finish: 6th CL finish: Out in round of 16. Trophies? FA Cup
  10. Can't wait for him or one of his cronies getting carded for being in the technical area at the wrong time. He'd turn coal to diamonds with his jaw clenching.
  11. Their hidden thread about us on RTG starts with the blow by blow of the game that none of them would watch starts here https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/nufc-sportswashing-compendium-thread-summer-2023.1609881/page-258 and goes on to around here https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/nufc-sportswashing-compendium-thread-summer-2023.1609881/post-38881138 Some watching live, some tuning into the radio, others obfuscating their dirty little secret. Early on any acknowledgement of good play was roundly criticised, loads of accusations that the Saudis have bribed the officials, or that teams always gift us a goal, but then... the penny slowly begins to drop, like a turd onto a pink plastic seat, Newcastle are good. "Hate to say it but they a very well drilled well organised talented side.", " How good is isak btw? Fuck me seems to score every time he plays", "Unfortunately the mags are very good. bastads", then reality dawns, Special mention for Roker Mackem, who despite spending much of the thread berating everyone else for watching, was the first to let everyone know that Newcastle went top of the league.
  12. The imagery of that is too perfect, by the way.
  13. Just funny isn't it? As soon as the takeover happened the clubs were coming together to change the rules on sponsorship, then they're panicking about PIF owned Saudi clubs buying our players for more than they're 'worth' (as if that isn't an entirely nebulous concept), and now they're changing the rules because Jason Tindall does what every other assistant manager does and get in the ear of the officials, or wind up the other bench. Fuck e'm . Let them make up new rules, it didn't stop us signing a bumper deal, selling ASM, or twatting the much fancied Aston Villa around NE1 while Mad Dog does the hokey cokey on the side line. Soon to be introduced Newcastle rules include; nee blasties, can't score inside the box, no balls over head height, next goal wins and they've got rush 'keeper. Match Cam has made me a little feisty this morning. Bring it on, you whiney cunts. Bring. It. On.
  14. Chelsea signing Caicedo and potentially Lavia too. Liverpool are in dire need of a true blue DM. And unfortunately for them that is a position that currently commanding a very high transfer fee. 3 DMs gone for north of £100m recently, right? Enzo Fernandez, Declan Rice and now Moises Caicedo. If Liverpool have ambitions of top 4, they need a top tier DM and they've left it late to find one for this window. I still think they're short in depth at CB.
  15. Being thick as fuck isn't an endearing regional characteristic, certainly not one to be celebrated.
