Roeder 8/1 to be first manager out.
Footsoldier replied to Kevin Carr's Gloves's topic in Newcastle Forum
Roeder's biggest problem now, IMO, is that he's lost any credibility that he had and goodwill from last season. Both him and his sidekick wadsworth...errr Bond....appear clueless tactically based on the villa game. Now he's blown the chance to put things right by having no transfer strategy at all. He should never have said that were in poll position for three players knowing that everybody expected Wayne Bridge to be one of them as soon as the cole deal went through. He also looks a right tit and can only expect derision from the fans with the signing of that useless, expendable knacker from citeh. Better no signing than sibierski. Roeder had better hope that his nigerian midget can do the trick or else we can write this season off now. Looks like it's going to be a long winter unless we have no injuries and can play the same pool of 15 players or so for the entire season and they play out of their skins. -
None of this makes any sense. I wonder if the surgeon's took roeder's brain out and left the tumor in by mistake?
-
After this, I couldn't give a sh!t if he goes down injured in the first game. What he did for us is water under the bridge and I hope he has a miserable season. Nothing serious but enough that he can't play.
-
No ambition to play in a lightweight midfield that can't even compete with Gavin McCann perhaps. Especially with a ten million pound midget up front. I'd say Celtic may look a better choice.
-
As you are trying to be deliberately obtuse, why would anybody give a rat's arse whether the answer satisifies you or not?
-
How's he going to handle all the high balls up the middle? I see he's listed as 6' 2" and although it'll never be proven otherwise because records of his height were lost, I have a nagging suspicion he's a touch shorter.
-
Not sure that I believe your stats. happy face. Columbia and South Africa's murder rates are about ten times higher than the States who are nowhere near the leading country so I' find it strange that you'd single them out. Unless of course you just want the usual suspects to jump on the US as is fashionable these days.
-
If they are going to sign him, why wait until next week? Didn't Tino go to Middlesbro from the airport? And put that cross in.
-
Who knows, but it's history now. I don't wish any injuries on the lad but I do hope he suffers a miserable loss of form along with bellamy.
-
I'd be surprised if anybody came close to paying him 90k a week. There's only a handful of teams that could do it and they aren't sniffing.
-
If you don't know them, ever thought that they might've moved up here?
-
The point still is that N'Zogbia does not seem to have signed a new contract for whatever reason. If he walks next summer we'd be kicking ourselves missing out on DD. I still think GR will sign a striker..... although God knows who it will be ....and that money will be available. I also think Bridge will come once cole goes.
-
We haven't been a selling club in the years since KK arrived. That's not to say we've been a wise buying club at the same time. Selling ferdinand for 6mill was probably a good deal given that he was injured and nowhere near the player he was for us. Bit like manure getting rid of a player who was past it but still could command a fee. The injury to AS masks that fact. Cole was sold to finance Ferdinand as KK always wanted him. By the way Sammy. I did read that sentence again about association with the club and as it's a form of pidgin english, the meaning is completely lost on me.
-
Sorry sammy. You lost me on the first sentence which doesn't make any sense.
-
Sammy....I don't know that you are forcing zog away. His contract has been sitting on the table long before DD signed. And nothing has been reported on negotiations so who the hell knows what is going on other than GR aand FS? I don't think I'd break the bank on zog at this point but I'd give him a very fair offer comparable to any other team.
-
I'm not trying to justify our transfer policy....assuming we have one. I'm saying that occasionally opportunities to sign players come up that are just too good to knock back. Duff is definitely one of them. Also, nobody on this board knows what's happening with N'zogbia as he's not signed a contract. If he's told GR that he's gone, it's not difficult to put 2+2 together on this one and thank God for the chance to get DD.
-
Look at the big picture. N'Zogbia has not signed a new deal and can walk at the end of this season. A better left sided player is available at 5 mill which may be the transfer coup of the year. No brainer.
-
You could be right. If there is not a proven talent then I would look at the likes of Nugent at a price we can afford. Just like we should have had Ashton ages ago. Other teams do it rather than lashing out the cash on supposed big names.
-
Why? Only a complete idiot would knock back Duff at 5 mill. And if we only had 5mill. it doesn't buy much of a striker anyway.
-
Maybe GR was hoping that liverpool would not be able to find the cash and the deal would fall through. This has to be one of the most depressing mornings for awhile unrelated to a match result. Other than martins who I know very little about, there doesn't seem to be a player that is actually worth the money out there so GR might spend for spending's sake. This tact has not got us very far in the past and all we need is another carl cort on a long term contract.
-
One problem is that, even though Shearer was slowing down, he was still Alan Shearer and as such, an attractive proposition to play alongside. With Owen out, what's left? Who in their right mind would want to partner a bulls knacker like ameobi?
-
After that interview tonight I don't think there is any doubt he is going to LIverpool.
-
I would've thought it was obvious that age does matter especially if you are signing a long term contract of 5 years or so. I'm not saying that GR shouldn't buy him if he wants him but it has to factor into the transfer fee.
-
Would anybody bet their life on Martins' being 21? I wouldn't. Look at a picture of him. If he's 21 then he's had a hard life. I don't blame Roeder a bit in being leery about the whole thing.
-
If OG signs for them, then I don't see Smith in the midfield and limited opportunities up front. I'd see if manure would sell him for 5 mill or thereabouts providing he's back to fitness. I'd also consider a bid of 2 mill or so for solskjaer.
