  1. They seem to get a stott on over the fact we have little to no debt.
  2. A post that gay had to be Meenzer.
  3. Nacho Gonzalez could be back for the Hull game Saviour of our season
  4. Is Nixon over on N-O seriously trying to claim that it was still the world of the beloved system and Bassong is talking shite?
  5. The initial tide of pro-Ryder bullshit which was clearly posted by people from N-O does seem to have been usurped by people with some grey matter inbetween their ears who realise the club is using the local press again. Thank God some people aren't complete idiots.
  6. Thing is Shearer had the quality elsewhere for him to get away with it. Taylor is a substandard defender who seems to pull shit like this almost every game.
  7. I don't know like Tom. I think going down and having Ashley still controlling the club might see a bigger dip in crowds than that. no, that can't be right, diehards like mick on NO - insist that the absolute priority is to sort out our finances, the poor dear obviously thinks we will still get 50,000 crowds like we always did. I don't think there is much doubt that if we spend 2-3 years down in the lower league that 52,000 stadium of ours will be half full. That will be great for the finances won't it. I think we probably both agree the finances needed sorting out, but not at the expense (pardon the pun) of everything else, including the first XI. If Ashley was really arsed about having fun, competing and so on - why put all his eggs in one basket? He could have easily set aside some of the money he's spent on paying off the debt on new players. He could have still pursued his aim of getting the wage bill down etc. There seems something more sinister to me about what is going on than just him doing this for the long-term good of the club (probably to make us easier to sell in his eyes). That's how I would describe it, watching the season unfold feels like a shitty series of dream team. It's hard to believe a successful business man like Ashley could be this incompetent with one of his main assets. It feels to me like there is some ulterior motive here, although I haven't got a clue what. He's like the baddy out of a Bond film. Looks normal but underneath you know that his heart is as black of coal. Wise is Oddjob.
  8. I'm really fucking confused Both were horse shite tonight, like.
  9. I've also got to point out that anyone, whether it be on here or N-O, who claims Martins is a better fucking player than Owen will get a beating by moi. He's not and he never will be.
  10. Very good appraisal IMO. Would only really argue with Jonas 7 because as usual the last pass / cross / whatever fell apart. 5 Ran his arse off and created the goal, so 7.
  11. My 'view from the pub' ratings... Harper (7) - Did little wrong. One particularly good save. Saylor (4) - Fuck off you daft little scrote. He was getting wanked over in the pub for his little tet-a-tet with Ronaldo at the end of the second half which annoyed the fuck out of me consdering he did little else. Colo (7) - Played well barring his hand waving antics for their second. Wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference had he not slowed, like. Bassong (8) - MOTM. He'll be away at the end of the season at this rate. Enrique (7) - Another decent performance barring one or two misplaced crosses. Works well with Jonas. Raylor (5) - His set pieces are average and he provides little in midfield. I'm beginning to think his performances against us were flukes. Geremi (6) - Did very little but when he did show his face he wasn't a complete horror show. Smith (4) - Nicky Butt-lite. Needs to stop mouthing off at referees when he fouls someone. Jonas (7) - Caused a tonne of trouble in the first half but went missing in the second when we reverted to wellying it through the middle. Martins (6) - Puts himself about but no end product. The one time his first touch didn't see the ball bounce away from him he got off a decent shot. Lovenkrands (6) - Did little apart from his goal but still a decent show. Good performance, but it means fuck all in the grand scheme of things. Man United were poor tonight and had we been on the ball we could've got a point. The way we reverted to hoofing the ball during the second half was awful to watch.
  12. I can't understand this attitude. If you want the club to still meet with NUSC you're going to have to understand that they don't need to put up with the snidey attitude. Strength of message doesn't come from being arsey with everyone, you have to remain calm and keep the words decent. It's much more effective. This hot headed way just comes across as childish. I know passions run hot with this subject but you have to keep your cool. Exactly, those I speak to (few of whom post on message boards) feel NUSC is simply an Anti-Ashley vehicle, and therefore divisive. NUSC needs a a much more balanced/reasonable and less emotive approach, keep the emotion for the games/websites/message boards an organisation needs to rise above that to be credible IMO Exactly, Its Ashleys club and nothing anybody says will change that. I can't abide that attitude amongst football fans. It's only Ashley's club as far as his name is above the door so to speak. Without the fans this club would be nothing.
  13. I do agree the tone of the message should've been more balanced but at the same time you've got to remember the people at NUSC are fans too. If i'd sat there and heard Llambias say what has been reported i'd find it very hard to come back and write up the article in a completely objective manner. Fuck it, if I was sitting there i'd have probably found it very hard not to vault the table and throw the speccy fucker into the buffet It does come across as amateurish but then again the people running NUSC are amateurs. They're learning on the job so they are going to make mistakes and people are going to think things could've been done differently. What I will say is since it's inception NUSC has become more professional as an entity. I'm happier with NUSC than I was a few months ago, this current issue included. Hopefully the new lad with PR experience will try and keep feelings a bit more in check when it comes to writing up things like this in the future so we avoid the wrath of Thompson House.
  14. How is pointing out what Lee Ryder chose to omit from the meeting in his article for the paper (nowt to do with his blog) revisiting old ground, exactly? You're the one doing that, by continually having a pop at NUSC when that isn't the real issue, imo. Regarding HF's point, at least. Because their different issues. The attack on NUSC this week and the negative repercussions it is having amongst its own members and the wider fan base, are all self inflicted this time. They're not different issues, they're directly related. He's having a whinge at NUSC because he feels hard done by but the quotes tell another story.
  15. Local sports journo's get fuck all apart from the occasional insignificant titbit about injuries and possible transfers literally an hour at most before Sky and the BBC get it. Exclusives are no longer exclusives and newspapers no long sell on the back of their sports journo's being in the loop. Ryder may get to sit on the top table with Llambias and laugh at all his jokes but the output of the sports pages will suffer because of it. Just look what happened to Anal, he was a laughing stock and rightly so. If I remember correctly the MEN have decided against pandering to the Manchester clubs because they've realised how little they actually get out of them.
  16. As much as i'm starting to dislike the bum licking bugger I think NUSC has to offer a hand of friendship or at least clear the air talks with Ryder. The press do need to be kept happy.
  17. Danny is right. The few years we were battling it out with them he forgot to trot out this story and just had a whinge.
  18. Worst of all is that he describes the comments in the NUSC from DL as 'on the whole accurate'. If that's the case then why, as a journalist who is meant to have some form of integrity, didn't he pick up on them and report them. Some of Disco Dekka's comments are very worrying yet he decided to toe the party line and leave them unreported.
  19. I agree with most of the posts in this thread (barring the 'buying a pub' idea). I spend my time rigorously defending NUSC elsewhere *cough* N-O *cough* and those who have stumbled across my arguments with certain posters will probably think i'm a happy clappy NUSC loving chappy, which isn't strictly true. There are a lot of creases which I think need ironing out most of which have been mentioned in this thread but there are some people who will use any stick, no matter how small, to beat NUSC. That's what really fucks me off.
  20. It could've been worse, it could've been Taylor.
  21. Buy a pub? Fucking hell Threads were started both on here and N-O when NUSC was first set up to gauge what opinion was amongst fans IIRC. Unsurprisingly at the time a lot of sentiment was anti-Ashley and that's the banner issue. In my opinion it should remain so until things at the club start to change. What gets me is the amount of people who bitch that the NUSC doesn't represent their views but are unwilling to sign up and put in the effort to try and get their voice heard. It's not as if NUSC is this impenetrable organisation that's closed at the very top - it's got a very small number of members currently and at the last meeting at the Irish Centre they were practically begging people to join the committee. What more do people want? As far as i'm concerned you've got no right what so ever to moan about NUSC if you're not going to put in the leg work. They're doing a bloody admirable job at quizzing those people who take our money and flog us a substandard product week in, week out. If you don't like it fine but don't bitch about them not representing your views if you're unwilling to do anything about it.
  22. I wouldn't say he's from the club but i'm almost certain he's one of the Ashley apologists from N-O.
