  1. That's exactly the same result, course and dirty makem poly degree that I have.. We can probably talk at length about how shite the course is then I'm fairly sure that when I did it it was the first year it was ever run. They cobbled together bits of media studies and Media production with a bit of journalism. I have to say that concentrating on the basics of print journlism and getting that spot on would have been infinitely more useful in terms of preparing me for the world of work. Is the job in journalism? Sounds like it hasn't changed a bit It's for a sixth month internship at the Sunderland Echo contributing to a multimedia journalism project they're running. Good luck mate, it's very tough at the moment (there are loads of experienced people out of work) so getting experience like that will be vital. The pay is shit, but the job is great. Aye, it seems nigh on impossible to get a job in journalism at the minute. I've applied for the few trainee reporter roles that have popped up around the country but they've been getting around 200 applicants so I don't really stand a chance. I've got another interview at CBI in a few weeks too, for a PR/Journalism role so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. Write articles and send them all over the place is another way. If it was that simple then there wouldn't be loads of highly experience professionals on the scrap heap.
  2. First album - Decent. Something to build on. Second album - Fucking awful. Third album - Fucking awful but slightly better than Empire. Not my cup of tea.

  5. You have a first from Cambridge? What subject if you don't mind me asking? Congratulations Skol and (belatedly) Smogeordie. No, I don't. There was some controversy with my final paper which was resolved by some old duffer from Cambridge Uni they called in. I had to sit with him one to one and talk about my ideas (having forgotten most of it ). Lovely bloke, I think he was deaf which helped. Controversy? Was it about the Jews, Parky?

  7. Just got my results. 2:1 in BA (Hons) Journalism from Mackem Poly If I didn't have an interview tomorrow i'd be out on the lash right now.
  8. Coming on here annoys me to the point of suicide, put it that way.
  9. How many other clubs had the resources we did (due to the early good work of SJH and others)? And how many other clubs wasted money like we did? It wasn't sustainable so while we may have had some great European nights it was like a house of cards, once we were out of Europe we were fucked and that's part of the reason why we are where we are today. I'm not demonising FS but he has made a lot of mistakes that you don't / won't see. Anyways I'm off out so you can find someone else to debate this with for 94832434th time. you mean due to the early good work of the Halls and Shepherd [who remained the controlling owners throughout the whole 15 years] ? Wasting money isn't the fault of the board. They back their manager. How much money is wasted by clubs who are relegated through not speculating ? I know he/they made mistakes, but the only way to succeed is to show ambition, and simple mathematics tell you the vast majority in essence don't succeed in terms of winning trophies . If you don't attempt, you will never succeed, surely this Ashley regime has rammed that point home by now ? Debatable. During the latter days of his reign Shepherd was backing himself in the transfer market and the manager took a backseat. I can think of at least five transfers that have been done behind the backs of managers and have been all but confirmed.
  10. Those who were defending Ashley until the last day of the season are now very, very quiet. Sounds about right, going for the "i was completely wrong and look like a tit, so i'll just go quiet and never mention it again rather than admit it" approach! For the record, I've never said Shepherd [with Hall] was a "great chairman", only that he had the good of the club at heart and showed ambition, and gave us the best 15 years of my time supporting the club. The only good 15 years in fact, apart from the Fairs Cup win. It is others who construed that in different ways. I've no idea if he would succeed or not, maybe he doesn't have the backing, but again it is others who undervalued having the good of the club at heart and showing ambition. I agree that he cared more, he certainly wouldn't have done this to us, if he'd taken us down he'd have stayed, kept Shearer on and backed him as much as possible to get us back up. Then again i don't think he'd have got us relegated, he tried his best with Souness and Roeder, but i think he'd have always changed things just in time and just well enough to scrape by! That's hardly a glowing tribute but christ we'd take it over what we've had done to us by Ashley. yes, and now we are relegated. He wouldn't have got us relegated, or he would never have sold off good players, made a profit in 3 transfer windows, and watched a January transfer window go by without bringing in one player who would have won a solitary point in any game from somewhere that would have kept us up. Amazing the amount of pricks on NO who said that I would rather be right about Ashley being a cunt than be a success. Quite incredible. Of course, I've paid for the next 2 seasons, and like everybody else, knew what was coming ..... Quite a few accused NUSC members of being happy if we got relegated so we could say we were right
  11. Those who were defending Ashley until the last day of the season are now very, very quiet. plenty of them too. Not wanting to sound too much like Stevie but the vast majority of the Ashley apologists seem to come from outside the country.

  13. It's hard to believe people haven't realised he's a WUM.
  14. Have you ever told them to fuck off before since you dislike them so much? I would. I remind my brother he's a wanker almost daily.
  15. I'm of the opinion you're a WUM, and a bad one at that
  16. what particular golden era are you talking about here - the 1960's, 70's, 80's, 90's or current era ? Or when we qualified regularly for europe........with one of the best teams in the country and bought top quality footballers and filled the stadium every week. Doesn't sound like a badly run club to me. If you mean the 1950's, we may have won 3 FA Cups but we still got relegated and the club was run by a bunch of twats who creamed off as much as they could. Further than that, you are looking at when we last won the league.... 5th best club Some of the best managers in the world applying for the job...
  17. Two posts The second one is a doozy, mind...
  18. Her tits are just wrong. Looks too much like her brother. Btw, I was reading about him and he reckons over his career he's smashed about 700 racquets in anger at $200 a pop I wouldn't put it past him
  19. I always felt a litle bit too working class to get into 'Henmania' properly. As you say he wasn't too bad but his fans were/are wankers. At least with Murray you get the feeling the majority of people dislike him but begrudgingly follow him because he's the only decent Brit. You also get the feeling he's always one bad call away from grabbing a bottle of Buckfast and glassing the umpire.
  20. Her tits are just wrong.
  21. Nick will know, he used to knock about with her sometimes but he's in the Orkneys just now. I remember when she won a fair bit of money betting on that lass that looks like a bloke to win some tournament. I just know she detests Murray and loves Nadal. I don't actually care how she is Probably still on the run from HTT.
  22. I don't get this "Shepherd cares" stuff. If his time here proves anything it's that Newcastle comes a distant second to himself, whether that be his ego or his wallet. If he comes back in it's for his own personal gain and nothing else.
  23. His first serve wasn't too poor after the first set yesterday. As for his second serve it's slow but he still manages to get some kick on it. Despite the way Federer has been playing his half of the draw doesn't look too good all of a sudden. Soderling did a good job yesterday of keeping him honest and I reckon he could get ran close by Karlovic who is a machine at the minute.
  24. No. He'll lay the blame for the clubs current problems squarely at the feet of MA and probably thinks that had he been around Fat Sam would've taken us to CL qualification. I also find it bizarre that Shearer would happily work with a man who called him Mary Poppins and taped interviews with him so he could blackmail him should he ever try to leave the club.
