Fucking hell, how patronising do you want to be? Taylor is far from a good centre half. He's strong in the tackle but he's got the brain of a gnat. He is not a good Premiership defender, if he was we wouldn't have went down. There was only one truly class CB at the club last season and he scored last weekend for his new club. Moyes probably can see potential in Taylor, we all could at one point. The fact of the matter is he's had years to build on that and mature here but right until the death last year he was still making the same silly mistakes. Is it our fault for not bringing in someone to help nuture him? Probably. However, at the minute he's nothing more than a decent Championship defender. I'd be very happy if we sold him for something close to £10 million and brought in some one like Kilgalon, however unlikely that is.

No one is denying that, i'm just confused as to why Taylor is the straw that broke the camels back and not the other ten players? Especially when there are rumours abound we have a decent replacment in Campbell still negotiating?
-
I don't think David Moyes has watched almost every minute of Steven Taylor's professional career like I and a lot of other fans have. I've seen Two Pools beat his marker and fire a game winning header home, make a game saving Hollywood tackle etc. but i've also seen some utterly awful defending. I've seen the mistimed tackles, his man get the better of him almost every ball across the 90 minutes, his arm waving, his finger pointing and the inevitable blame game when he drops a bollock and starts blaming someone else. If he was as good as some people thought we wouldn't have got relegated last season. He's hero worshipped because he's a Greenwich born Geordie but apart from that he's pretty unspectacular.
-
He cost us God knows how many points last season with his arm waving and needless pointing. There was a thread on here with screen grabs of him, rather than doing his job, simply pointing at the ball after the Stoke match (IIRC). He's young and he's English ergo he's overrated.

Shearer is a better option than JFK, Hughton etc. but then I can think of many managers who would take this job and be a better option than Shearer.

This x 1000. Steven Taylor is decent Championship player/below average Premiership player. If he goes I feel we're losing another body rather than losing someone who could make or break our season. If Campbell comes in that would be enough to placate me for the time being as I think he'd be a better option than Two Pools in defence. Obviously i'd rather Colo left and Taylor stayed but we're not in a position to pick and choose who goes. This isn't to say my hatred for Mike Ashley has waned. The lad is a cunt and if he contracted AIDS I would point and laugh. The damage he has done to this club is beyond belief but this is nothing more than a drop in the water. Oh a slightly more positive note, I also wouldn't take it as read that this means no takeover is going to happen. The players and the coaching staff know sweet fuck all and they've admitted as much on several occasions.

You do understand if this doesn't happen it's a weekend ruiner?

Xisco was decent enough when he came on. Everyone around me went mental when he toed the ball out for a throw in from a pass, without taking into consideration said pass should've been a simple one to his feet but instead was high and wayward.

Find it hard to disagree with that.

Nothing earth shattering IMO.

A win's a win. It wasn't particular convincing but we've got to learn to grind out results. SJP is either going to inspire teams (like tonight) or strike fear into them (like Saturday). Support was great too.

I did those exact subjects, hated every minute of them and got a U, D and a D respectively Thank the lord for Sunderland Poly.

And our very own Leazes. I remember him saying "beware what you wish for the grass isnt always greener" to which I think my reply was something along the lines of "whichever way we go is a gamble and I sure as hell prefer the idea of gambling on Ashley". fucking hell Pud, slightly off topic but what's the craic with this Graham Roberts guy? He's just been on SSN making a complete fucking twat of himself and name dropped NUSC/T. Who? Never heard of him????? Former Spurs player who claims he's put a group together called Fans 410 who are interested in buying Newcastle. Said he was in contact with NUST and they were on board with his plans but then went on to admit Keith Harris wouldn't talk to him, he's yet to make contact with DL/MA and Shearer, who is the groups choice for manager, has also yet to be spoken to by them.

The lad who ran the original Toon-Chat/Toontastic isn't it? I can remember him being a bit miffed when we knicked the name

Fucking hell Matt... I can only apologise for jinxing it.

Aye, because one man calling the shots has been so fucking good for us

you gotta be kidding - Wednesday are shite, yet another of the many piss weak, mediocre teams that make up this awful league that so many on here are in fear of ffs. I have put my money where my mouth is and put a few quid on 3-0 and a lot more on 4-0. If by some chance Wednesday get a point or more, no more postings will come from me on here. WBA and Reading so far - 2 joke teams that are supposed to be '' up there amongst it'' - what bollocks. Bring the whole CCC on - its shite and we'll piss it no danger whatsoever. I'm convinced you're a Mackem WUM and a poor one at that

I like Sheff Wed. They always strike me as a club who should be in the top flight (along with us, natch ) at the expense of some of the poorly supported plastic dross that currently inhabits it. Stevie's "we're better than this club and i'll tell you why" post were quite funny last season when our backs were against the wall but now they're just fucking daft. I wonder what he's got lined up for the likes of Doncaster and Scunny? I fancy us to win 2-0. I think the class of our yet to depart players will shine through and in the end it'll be a fairly comfortable victory. Palace on Saturday is where the real trouble could start if, as the newspaper say, we'll know what will happen with regards to the takeover come the second half of the week.
-
From .COM... Why play Taylor and drop Duff if both are in the process of leaving? If he had already packed his bags surely Ashley wouldn't risk £8 million by playing him against lowly Reading? I think he was just milking the applause because of the result. And CT is right, Jonas is fucking shit.
-
I'd snap their cunting hands off.
-
34 is nowt in Championship terms. Get him signed.
-
There's no way Ashley is going to sell the club now IMO. He must be thinking there's a fair chance of the P word and he can net more cash if we do. I personally think Moat will be involved in the running of the club as it'll curry favour with the fans and give him that extra time to see if we can bounce straight back.
-
He signed from Man United and he's class, he's class........ Fans view of the inept danny simpson league 1 might be the boys level, not the championship, he's quick but thats all...........horrible defender. He was fantastic for Sunderland when they won the CCC so I think he probably is good enough for the Championship.
-
to all who have said snap their hands off to bids for our players
