I do think it should be easy to show him up but I don't think it will happen. His media training seems to have paid off as he's not as prone to foot-in-mouth gaffs as he used to be. If the Beeb really wanted to stitch him up they should've invited Mark Collet or one of Griffin's other minions on instead because they're not as savvy. They're bound to say something awful.

I hope he mentions the BNP's plans to move British parliament to the Isle of Man

Fantastic to see that liberal lefty propaganda merchant, the BBC, letting one of the most repugnant blokes in British politics have his say. I wonder whether people will continue to call into question the Beeb's political alignment the next time they wag their finger at Israel for blowing up brown people in light of this? I'm happy to see him on there, freedom of speech an'aal that, however the media have made this into a bigger issue than it should be.

If you go with the crutches be aware i'll go on a knacking spree. Anyone I see in or around the ground clinging to two poles is fair game on the off chance it may be Stevie.

Sounds like your average Gervais stand up. Very funny and very smart in certain parts but lazy in others. Still, i'm looking forward to this evenings show regardless.

Well they've just had a mental in the form of Mike Newell, why not a black woman?

That footage was from the derby last year or the year before. We can all agree those were wankers. Basically in the summer Sunderland fans were bundled onto a train in Edinburgh which was apparently bound for Sunderland but instead stopped at Central Station where they were forced off. Northumbria's finest were ready and waiting, generally acting as police do in 'crowd control' situations by being overly aggressive themselves complete with unmuzzled dogs, batons etc. Eventually it kicked off, police saying that the Mackems started attacking the dogs () and the Mackems saying the police started attacking fans at random. The end result was a few dozen fans left feeling shaken and a handful with fairly serious injuries which required length spells in hospital. The police released a laughable piece of public relations dirge saying that a few of the dogs (Rocco, Socko, Minnie and Mackem Killa if I remember correctly) had bruises, complete with photo of concerned officer and dog. A few of the fans managed to get away with recording the action on their mobiles which basically corroborated their version of events - the fans were by and large fantastically behaved then the police let the dogs off the leads and started clubbing people. The police in turn released a CCTV video of their own showing fans having a sing song and nothing else. Basically Northumbria Police have went around trying to put the frightners on the fans who are willing to stand up and testify against them, by coming around a day or two after interviewing them and arresting them for no reason. At the last count I think there was a few dozen fans who they'd visited and locked up and guess what? They're yet to charge anyone.

As funny as it may be to see the Mackems falling foul of the law when you see the evidence presented by both sides it becomes abundantly clear that the conduct of the rozzers was shocking. Regardless of who they support fans should never be subjected to that type of treatment (yes, that even includes Scousers). We all know that you of all people KD would be the first one shaking your virtual fist in unmitigated webrage had it happened to you. And Wacky would call you a cunt for good measure. It's nice to see the FSF doing more stirling work on behalf of your regular football fan. Every fucker should sign up, especially now it's free. Power in numbers an'aal that. http://www.fsf.org.uk/join.php

Yes, my bet It wasn't really for shits and giggles as much as i'm a sad anorak who saw that Brawn were bum raping all comers in testing and Betfair hadn't, so I whacked £5 at 20/1. This evening my account was furnished with the lovely cash

Let the fucker in and then lock him up if he breaks any laws. Simple really.

It would've been funny had it been aimed at a manager who has an overinflated opinion of himself and his team but Chris Hughton? A nicer, more humble man you will not meet.

Shift the attention by picking an easy target in the room and suggesting he has child porn on his hard drive.

Fantastic. I can be an anti-social fucker in the pub and watch the Daily Show now.

I, and I assume many others, signed up to NUST not because of the protests (which they didn't organise. The 'protest' at the Monument was a meeting to drum up support before the match) but because I thought it was a good idea in general. I have no problem with either protesting or the current route they're taking but some people do. If NUST actively endorse a batch of protests hundreds of wailing spastics are going to tut and accuse them of scaring off potential buyers. I've also never said that there shouldn't be debate, I welcome it but I can't debate with a contrary fucker such as yourself. I'm hugely confused as to what point you're trying to make. You seem to flit from pissy issue to pissy issue (the "why don't NUSC by a pub" whinge, anyone?) and then act all indignant when people don't take it seriously throwing in the odd word like 'democracy'.

Personally I think you have your knickers in a twist. Apart from one jokey comment I have simply asked one very basic question. Other people have chosen to discuss the ins and outs of it. I have implied nothing. My views that I think NUST have become obsessed with this pension / buy the club campaign are clear. I am also dissapointed that more is not being done to encourage Ashley to leave. It seems to me therefore straightforward to as how many of the 2000 plus voted to go down this road. If it was 1001 then that is fine. If it was based on a show of 50 hands at a roadshow then that's a different matter. You are quite aware that others are raisining similar concerns. It would be a shame for the interim committee to ignore these issue as they may end up with a very poor response when renewal fees are requested. The committee arent ignoring anything, I told you 4 pages back. If you want something answering then do it in the correct place. As it is, I'll give you the answer here. Seems I was a tad out when I said 99.8% earlier on, being optimistic I was. The result of the poll was: 325 votes for 7 votes against which gives a majority of 97.89% Im sure you'll agree CT that a vote as important as that is one in which everyone should vote, every single member should be having a view and saying their bit otherwise they really cant shout later on if they decide they're not so keen on that idea now can they? How did you vote again? I think the interim committee has become obsessed with this pension / buy the club idea and has dedicated far more time to that than they have to protesting against Ashley. Their is very much an air of we dont what to rock the boat or big business wont get involved with the pension idea. The problem is while NUST is obsessed with pleasing big business, I feel that a lot of the 2000 will dwindle away which will be a big shame and an opportunity lost. You're wrong IMO. NUSC got a ridiculous amount of shite for their perceived involvement in various protests that went on last season so they opted to take a back seat, support the club and as you suggested at the start of this thread focus on building a reputable platform via the local media. Now some people aren't happy they're not out their on the streets screaming for Ashley's head. They're not going to be able to please everyone IMO. I'm very keen on the direction being taken as it's fantastic to see the trust conduct itself with a modicum of dignity while our fat cunt of an owner is continuing his classless tenure. For me it doesn't seem to be about keeping business on side (it's not as if Ashley's ownership is a divisive issue amongst Newcastle fans), it's about keeping the group in the press for the right reasons both locally and nationally. I also don't have a clue where you're getting the idea this change in tact is upsetting members and potential joinees either because apart from yourself, who seems to have spent a tenner simply to add weight to your whinges, this is probably the most satisfied I have seen our fans with NUST. Of course there are going to be naysayers but they're much less love 'em, hate 'em than they were 6 months ago. The trust vote is a complete non-issue for me personally. The group has never hid their desire to become a trust and it wasn't done in a cloak and dagger manner. The benefits are there for all to see and all it seems to have done really is put back elections which, again IMO, would've been held far too early to actually make a major difference to the make up of the committee. No one has really done or said anything to make me think they're the wrong/right person to lead NUST so they'd have been nothing more than a gesture which would've put the breaks on any progress being made while they were conducted.

I think the exact figure is irrelevant in this particular case. It's not as if it was a contentious issue. There are a tonne of pros and virtually no cons. Its funny but if you go back to page 1 of this thread we were asking NUSC to become a bit more professional and become more of a supporters club rather than a one issue protest group. However I and others feel that the fight has totally gone and we are left with this obsession about pension plans and one day buying the club. Not only do some feel as with most big clubs, this will never happen, but also there are bigger fish to fry at this moment in time, namely Ashley. While he is dithering at the moment about selling, all guns should be firing in his direction. The Guns of NUSC are silent...... Too busy fannying on with this "YES YOU CAN" campaign. Therefore, it is a legitimate question in a democratic paid up organisation to ask.... How many of the 2000 plus, paid up members, voted to change to a trust. All guns were firing in his direction and people got their knickers in a twist about it. Now they're going about things a bit more low key and they're getting nailed because they're not being aggressive enough. They can't win really.

As I suspected my car is a right off. I've heard nothing from the scrote who drove into me, nor have I heard any more from his mother. I think they're still pretty peeved that i've went through the insurers as I got an email today from my insurer basically saying they're being awkward about liability but not to worry as my compulsory excess has been waived and my NCD is, at the moment, secure because they're pretty confident they'll get an admission soon. Just glad it's slowly getting sorted now. Oh, and yes. My neck and back are still fucking sore

I'll C&P my post from N-O. I'm too hungover to be writing it out again.

She's of the opinion that because I wasn't writhing in agony at the scene of the accident, mainly due to the fact I was in shock and had fair amount of adrenaline pumping through my veins, I can't have whiplash. I was going to point out that whiplash can stay hidden for up to a week and my doctor diagnosed me straight away going on the details of the accident and discomfort I told her but I couldn't be arsed to argue with the expert
-
I thought Ashley was just dim but he sounds more bent that Fat Fred.
-
Just got another phone call off his Mam basically trying to put the frightners on me. She says she's been onto the insurance and i'll get done for fraud if i'm lying about my whiplash

I don't know to be honest Tom but I would imagine it varies greatly from state to state but for me, it shouldn't even be an issue. I'm all for giving people 2nd chances etc. but that doesn't even come into it for things like this. I would imagine I'd be at the more tolerant end of the scale as well if you took a straw poll amongst members of the public. There's a continuous scale of offence though isn't there. Stuff like what these people have done is incomprehensible to any sane person - abusing toddlers ffs. Completely agree they should never be released, that's unfixable. But then there's people like Polanski, which isn't as bad, but is still very serious. But should he be locked up for life? And then much futher down the scale, you'd have 18 year old lads going with 15 year old girls etc. Out of interest, who's seen the Woodsman with Kevin Bacon? I know a lot of people who would refuse to watch it on principle, but its worth feeling uncomfortable watching it I reckon. Not that I felt any the wiser after watching it. Used to know a lass who was around 14/15 while seeing someone quite a few years her senior. She insisted he wasn't a sex offender when people took the piss then he got locked up - turned out he was a serial flasher. He'd been going around Weshy waving his willy at people for a while and he got caught and put on the sex offenders register.
