  1. I don't buy into the whole idea that a boycott or protest will have a huge negative effect on the players on the pitch. I know some people still want to hold up the Hull game as a shining example of how protesting = bad but there were a plethora of other factors that probably had much more to do with our performance in that game. That one protest also doesn't account for our shitness the rest of the season and our eventual relegation although I know some people like to think it does. For the greater good a boycott/general protest is neccessary. The club is probably making around £1 million per game based on ticket, beer and bait sales if we keep up 44,000 attendances at least. If that drops by 10,000 in protest and there's even a half arsed boycott of club merchandise and scran at the match that'll probably bring income from match days down by around £250,000. It may seem like a paltry sum for a football club that deals in millions but it all adds up. Okay, i've simplified it somewhat but you get the idea. He's a money man who all of a sudden needs to count the pennies because his business ventures are fucked so this type of drop will matter to him.
  2. I think the location is going to do wonders for them. GIS was a pain to get to if you didn't fancy taking the Metro whereas this is a stones throw away from Gateshead Interchange. I can see a lot of fans from both our lot and the Mackems heading along on a Saturday afternoon just to see some football now it's easy to get to.
  3. Doing something Alex Democracy in progress. It's not. It's talking about it. Get climbing up the Tyne Bridge dressed as Batman if you're so enamoured with the idea. And then jump off the fucker
  4. You do confuse me That is the same line coming from NUSC Says the person who criticised NUSC when they were organising protests. In fact, just recently you said they should be about becoming a cosy little supporters club rather than a pressure group iirc. And they should buy a pub. Never forget that Christmas Tree suggested that NUST should buy a pub. That was classic. As did Arsenals supporters trust, making much needed funds and a great meeting place for like minded fans on matchday. What a disaster it would have been for us having a place that wannabe members could have met members rather than having to trail all over the North East having roadshows in half empty pubs. Gosh, 50,000 potential members walking past your door every other Saturday!!!!!! Fucking mad idea that Clown Money from beer Money from beer Money from Flags etc Money from pork scratchings.... If theyd taken my advice back then they may have had 10,000 members and enough clout and cash to buy the club. Shit I forgot, much easier to say........It Wont Work You make it sound so simple. God knows why the industry is currently on it's arse. Brilliant way to spend the membership fee that. Daft shite
  5. It was reported today they'll go out of business altogether if they go down.
  6. You do confuse me That is the same line coming from NUSC I'm waiting for NUST to show their hand. One short statement after the announcement is no comparison to the calm and measured opinion of a spotty 14 year old on a messageboard. From the chairman of NUSC in reply to calls for protests 3 weeks ago. He hasnt listened, he hasnt sold and if renaiming St James Park doesnt make him a twat, nothing will. We will wait and see. Doesn't that say there probably will be protests? Why are you having a moment?

  10. And there are still some mongs on N-O peddling the "ooh, we must not annoy Ashley. The players will get upset. It's an important season" line Honestly, you'd think these fuckers would learn. We had one protest at the start last season and some of them still think that's the sole reason we went down.
  11. Looks at bit like Buton's, which I heard was an inspiration for them.
  12. I can't e-mail Blair. Whinging to a war criminal about our wideboy owner seems a bit daft.
  13. "Which ones Simon Bird?" "Me" "You're a bloody lovely chap"
  14. We should take the Directors Box, windmilling every fucker who gets in our way To be honest it's probably only a matter of time I end up floating that idea in the L7 silly seats and inadverntantly convincing one of the charvas infront of me it's a good idea.
  15. Apparently the club wouldn't talk to the Chronicle after Saturday's game because of perceived 'negative coverage' It must be because the weekly 17 page interview with Steven Taylor wasn't gushing enough.
  16. We need to assemble as much evidence as we can through media sources and the like and present it through the NUST and then ask them where the money has gone. I think it's really time for people to get behind the NUST and for us to all be pulling in the same direction. Sadly I don't think match boycoutts are the answer but their is definitely something we can do but as Peter pointed out it has to be organised and successful or it can be detrimental to the credibility of the trust. We need a fans voice and we need cohesion. There is no direction other than plans to one day buy the club. Fuck off man, CT. This is not the time to air your petty grievances. Then you havent read the statement on their website relating to this......Fucking Joke. Pull your head out of your arse and go and read it. Of course i've read it, but there's no point in seizing on a hastily written statement minutes after the announcement late yesterday evening. If NUST don't take any action outside of "Lets try to buy the club" then I will hand my membership card in. I'm more than confident we'll see direct action taken sooner rather than later when ideas have been properly discussed between members. You're effectively asking for something to be fully arranged 11 hours after the annoucement which, like every other post you make on this particular subject, is fucking ridiculous.

  18. I'd also like to know where the £40 million gained from transfers from both this summer and earlier (Given, Milner and N'Zogbia deals weren't being paid for until this summer according to DL) is? He's not used it to run the club, the overdraft has done that, so where is it Mike?
  19. NUST need to be all over the name change like a bag of cocks. Giving everyone at the Ronny Gill an ear bashing until they print the Trust's opinions in big black bloody letters on the front page, making it clear that he's selling our history for his own gain and it's more than just a name etc. That'll get people riled and that will get people on their side. Direct action such as protesting may not be the most effective but it's realistic and it'll be the easiest to set up so I'd fully support and join a large scale march at the Peterborough game.
  20. Caulkin and Bird seem suitably outraged too. They're tweeting in support of NUST/anti-Ashley. Nice to see we've got some friends in the media, we're gonna need as many as possible.
  21. I wouldn't be as annoyed if it wasn't such a blatant ploy for him to line his own pockets. No matter how big the deal we'll not see one penny generated from the Noda Taxi's Stadium.
  22. I've no doubt they'll be formulating ideas as we speak. Protesting has got to be a very viable option.
