Bit of a pain to drop two points by letting one in at the very end but had you offered me that at the start of the day I'd have taken it. Give it a few days and I imagine they'll be a bit sheepish about their pre-match bravado, performance & celebration.

Teed, you're usually better craic than this. Not by much but still this is a bit daft.

I love the hypocrisy. A Photoshop thread on the SMB is inevitably followed by cries of "GERLD!" regardless of content. A Photoshop thread on here and the national press are on red alert. As for stoking the fire they'll be insufferable should they win regardless of whether we take the piss out of their bloody statue or not. I've tried taking the high ground before and it didn't work. Fuck 'em Tell you what, that must out his lad right off when he's on the vinegar strokes.

I see they've started banging the "Newcastle voted against Gateshead and kicked them out the football league" drum, as if it was a callous manoeuvre by ourselves to force the population of Gateshead to watch us Always nice that they neglect to mention the fact that we upheld the tradition of backing your neighbours by voting for the other North East team who were up for re-election and happened to owe us a large sum of money we wouldn't have got had they been kicked out. They also forget to mention that had we voted for Gateshead it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference, they'd have still been out on their arse. We are bastards, like

His name's Joey Barton and he, loves the toon. Everyone needs a nutter in the middle, everyone needs a nutter. Highlight of last Saturday... On a par with: Little Wayne Little Wayne running down the wing Little Wayne Little Wayne hear the geordies sing Cuts the ball inside & Shola puts it wide Little Wayne, little Wayne, little Wayne

This is an oft quoted and somewhat shocking allegation. Can someone get the BBC to investigate or something? It's all about "our taxes went to payah for them" the one big issue they had was we got the metro in 1980 and they didn't get it till 2002. The fact is the vast majority of people in Newcastle don't have a metro station. The nearest one to me is 5 mile away at Bank Foot, its a system for people in the East of the toon and North Tyneside. It's not as if they use it either. The only reason the Metro runs through Sunderland is so that the pikeys that live there have a near constant supply of copper to twock and flog.

This is an oft quoted and somewhat shocking allegation. Can someone get the BBC to investigate or something? Whey! The old Geordie mafia bollocks

I'm quite relaxed about the match. This time in October I was a gibbering wreck, a bag of nerves but I'm quite serene at the moment. I think it's the knowledge that unless they dish out a comparable tonking then a loss wont take any of the gloss off the 5-1. Obviously I'm still keeping everything crossed that we take all three points. A defeat would be a kick in the stomach and as the final whistle blows I'd want to crawl under a rock and not come out until next derby day but 5, 10, 25 years down the line a slim 1-0 loss wont keep me awake but the memories of that 5-1 will.

Honestly, man. There comes a point when their carers should take the mouse and keyboard off them, strap them back in their harness and put them back to bed.

That advert and the most impressive thing about it was a shot outside of a little Debenhams in the Galleries or whatever it's called. Pure (unintentional) comedy genius. Didn't it include lots of shots of Quinn standing around with a football under his arm looking into the camera like a dog that's just been shown a card trick?
-
They really hate it when the older ones mention the 73 DVD and the "Geordie" chants. They had a thread titled Who'd be a Geordie on the SMB slagging off Newcastle. It took a whole half a dozen posts before it descended into this.
-
I miss that advert. Better than most comedies on TV nowadays.

You're really helping smash the stereotypical view of Sunderland being full of BNP supporters I once saw two blokes, one of which was wearing a Sunderland shirt, standing on the central reservation of Wessington Way holding a massive BNP flag. Oh, the temptation to mow them down
-
I find their use of the word Mackem genuinely bizarre given its history, especially when it's used out of context. A Mackem was originally just someone from the shipbuilding areas of Sunderland but it's been extended to cover everyone who falls within the everchanging catchment areas of Sunderland (it seems to move to include just the city, satellite towns such as Washington and the whole of County Durham on the whim of the person using it). What happened to the good old days when Geordie meant anyone from the North East of England, eh? It's the Wearside equivilant of black people reclaiming the N word.

You're not helping your argument.

This basically. They wont let him go cheap either. Contract runs out in the summer.
-
He's done well at Cardiff over the past few years but at 28 he's not going to improve any more. He's a first division striker.
-
Has the term "Geordie Mafia" been used yet and all their city's failings dumped at the doorstep of nasty Newcastle? I'm too bone idle to go over there and have a look.
-
You can make any city in the world look shit by selecting certain pictures. Including your precious Newcastle. You speak facts. However Sunderland is shit.
-
Nor cos then the away end would be empty on Sunday Multiculturalism that Sunderland could only dream of.
-
Put asylum seekers into home earmarked for demolition? I suppose you think it's a good idea that we knock them down with the poor lads and lasses from Poland, Pakistan and Somalia inside an'aal? First Bent's mother, now this. Yet more Mackem racism.

Nen as bad as this though marra http://newcastlephotos.blogspot.com/2008/07/old-benwell.html I thought the blitz happened 70 year ago..... in London!!! Don't let anyone from Coventry hear you say that.

He's right mind

Stevie posts something as a bit of pre-Derby banter over here and provokes a full blown, massively blinkered sociological and historical discussion over there

More or less all of the images thrown up are arty shots. They don't seem to realise that a nice photo of the Wearmouth Bridge shrouded in mist is just that. The actual structure is a fucking mess
