No. An AFC Newcastle would only work if this club folded. Newcastle United is bigger than the players, bigger than the management, bigger than the owner.
  2. Amazing. Just amazing. I really hope the OP is taking the piss or this is instant gerld
  3. Wasnt it Ireland we wanted from Man City but didnt think to include him in the Given deal? Groundhog day, then they'll make a big thing about how they tried for him but Liverpool wouldnt play ball. Michael Johnson wasn't it? Aye. Tried to sign him and Kieran Richardson in the last hour. Thats the fella, it was all a farce though, deal with City was agreed 2 weeks previously yet we didnt think to say "we'd like that player of yours as part of the deal" Made even more mental by the fact Johnson had been out for about 18 months with a serious injury and looked nowhere near recovery when we hoyed a bid in. He's still injured now Probably lucky we didn't get him.

  5. Are they playing fucking scramble with Panini stickers or something? I hope Pardoo has mixed in a couple of his 94-95 collection just to mix things up. "Andy Sinton!? Get me the phone, Derek!"
  6. We officially rejected the deal and then Carroll handed in the request.
  7. I don't believe there's any conspiracy. The club don't care what the fans think so I can't see why they'll have dreamt up some ridiculous scenario whereby Carroll hands in a transfer request but doesn't to make Ashley seem like the good guy.
  8. Carroll has submitted a transfer request.
  9. I'm trying to look at this as logically as possible and £35 million is too good of an offer to turn down. I don't think it shows us to be a small time/selling club. Man United had to flog Ronaldo, Spurs got rid of Berbatov etc. These deals just happen sometimes. I don't think it'll have a huge impact on the players, this stuff happens at every club. Unfortunately we have once again shown a huge lack of foresight to allow it to happen this close to the end of the window. We couldn't reinvest even if we wanted to (and I'm not sure of that either). Typically of Ashley this deal makes a lot of sense from a financial/business POV but little or none from a footballing perspective.
  10. May or may not be linked to the fact he had a virus at City which coincided with his downturn in form.
  11. Ireland has failed his medical too He's got an issue we can't get insurance for.
  12. And there is NO WAY on God's green earth that Carroll is worth £35 million quid. you just can't turn that money down, almost means, in financial terms, that the relegation never happened. Would have loved to keep him (still hoping in a way) but this is just ridiculous cash they're talking here. He's still one loss of temper away from clink. Without his goals/an adequate replacement relegation very well may happen again. How can you not see this? To be fair we've coped quite well with both him and other equally as important players missing over the past few games. I'm confident we can stay up if he moves on.
  13. There's a lad in Level 7 who does that.
  14. Are you on hallucinogenics? 4 signings in 8 hours. Pardoo racing from Ashley's office with the Crystal Maze music playing in the background. Derek Llambias in a flesh coloured swimming cap playing a mouth organ and occasionally shouting "automatic lock-in!" at the top of his voice. Baals, Happy Face got there first.
  15. I'd wait to see what he did with it before I made my decision. That type of cash could buy us ten Tiote's if it was reinvested.
  16. Keep him. We have no strikers of Premier League quality apart from him and the money would be useless until the summer. Unless he suffers a serious dip in form or injury then we could get similar cash in six months time. There's no rush.
  17. Bid rejected according to Stevie's favourite journalist.
  18. Yep. If it was the summer, we had time to reinvest the cash and I had faith in the club to use it properly I'd sell. It isn't, we don't and I don't so the Scouse fuckers can jog on.
  19. He's growing on me. We've got the menace to society nutter in Barton, we really need a harmless, danger to know one but himself and possibly taste nutter like Ireland.

  21. Quickly went from Le Sib to Le Sib
  22. I hate Deadline Day. An inevitable anti-climax dressed up by shouty Jim White. I expect us to sign Ireland and possibly AN Other. As long as we don't sell any of our better players I'll be happyish.
  23. Semantics. In any language it means scum. Dress it up any way you want. Couldn't give a shit, I wouldn't want to live there, who wants to live in a place where a Mosque dominates the skyline in England? Mosque > The Bridges.
