  1. Defoe to replace Martins? Yes please.
  2. Very true. Wenger had always given an allowance to the players he brought in. Something to the tune of 6 months minimum. Tbf to Rozenhal, he's only just reached that target. He has some obvious attributes that he needs to work on, namely strength, whereas I view Ramage as incapable of plying his trade in the Premiership, no matter how much training he does.
  3. I expect Sam to be able to bring in one or two players in January. All the top managers are reluctant to buy in January for obvious reasons and we should be no different. But come in June we should be buying players left right and centre. Players who are better than what we already have.
  4. Crimson what utter utter shite. Rozenhal's fuck ups are boredering on Bramble status. At least Ramage knows he's shit but will but the effort in regardless. Oh...so that makes it all right then...
  5. I won't believe it until it happens. If it does, than I'll be thinking thoughts of "fuck off" and "this is shit" etc.
  6. i doubt he's going to think that after 8 months in the job tbh and tbf i think it would be wrong if he did. that's the sort of criticism you should level at him if we're in this position after he's been in the job for for a couple of years or more and he's still hanging around like a bad smell. Agreed. Over reaction and sounding like a broken record tbh.
  7. Sorry Ken but I have to disagree, Allardyce doesn't have the skill ot tactics to turn it around. Just watch the man chew gum if you want to confirm how little is actually going on between his ears. He will always only be a mid table obscurity manager nothing more. You commented in your previous post that he inherited a shit squad, he may have to some degree (nothing like Roeder did from Souness) but since taking over he has brought in a lot of new players, got rid of the last of the shite and strengthened the squad in numbers. Problem is it's the player he brought to the club that are generally under performing, so he can't blame anyone but himself. And to be honest I think giving him and opportunity to spend money on his idea of better players is a waste because he doesn't have the ability to actually find them, let alone fit them into his team of tryers! Mort and Ashley after looking at his 3 x 6m players must be shitting themselves waiting for his hit list filled with huff and puff. Chewing gum or not chewing gum means bugger all to me. Allardyce is a big believer in preparation, and the fact the team don't look prepared very often to me suggests the squad of players are unfamiliar with this. To say he is only a mid table manager is an opinion, and it is an opinion which is unjustified at this point in time. I'm glad you at least agree that Allardyce inherited a shit squad of players, because that's exactly what he did. And how much did he spend again?.? That's right it was about £12 million. That's a pittance comparing to what other clubs spent. You get what you pay for, but sometimes you get the odd gem. Allardyce gambled a bit but it didn't pay off. He didn't get a rough diamond, not even a crystal quartz. Beye, Cacapa, Viduka, Faye and to a much lesser extent Smith have had varied success, whilst others have failed thus far. But that's happened to Wenger, Sir Alex, Sir Bobby, Moyes etc etc. You win some you lose some. I support the man. But he needs to bring in some creativity to the squad. If he doesn't than I'm afraid he's just about lost me for good...
  8. Neil Warnock was at Sheffield United for 8 years but that didn't make him a manager of Ferguson and Wenger's ability. What a crock. Sometime people are just average and they will never do any better than that. Allardyce will always be more Warnock than Wenger regardless of how long he's given. I agree. Never wanted him. But he's here now and to make the best of it going forward can't you put aside your personal displeasure at some of the more tedious performances and give support to the man who's proven he can get even smaller clubs into Europe or thereabouts consistently, even with what little talent or flair he has? We need to become more attractive to talented managers. 5 managers in less than 4 years doesn't tend to do that. Is that an understatement or is that an understatement. He deserves two years minimum. A period of stability, and a chance for the new owner and chairman to build on. If he can't further us up the table then get rid. But Jesus Christ, Allardyce has only been at the club two seconds and inherited a shit squad of players. People need to get a grip of reality. We aren't "big". Bringing in someone like McLeish or Shearer now won't do a thing. People need to wake up... Bringing in a McLeish or Shearer would be pointless. I know it's early days but Ramos at Spurs looks like a better way to go. Wenger turned out to be an inspired choice as well, maybe in a year's time Ashley will be able to target a coach who is capable of providing football to compete at the highest level? Yes, maybe. But maybe in a year's time Allardyce would have turned things around? I don't know that, nobody knows that, but unless he's given a chance what chance has the reputation that our club has can be a positive one to others? No chance. Therein lies the quandary that many cannot fathom. Managers won't be put off coming here just because the guy before that was sacked for doing poorly. Anyone worth his salt will think "I could do better " especially if they have a clear idea of what makes a potentially good side. By all means, let Sam have time, but the fact that he's managed to make a reasonable squad look clueless doesn't fill me with hope. I think managers would be put off because being manager of NUFC is more high pressure than most other clubs. It is unenviable...just like being manager of England. Managers taking a look at our recent record would take notice of the fact most of our managers (some justified, some certainly not) got no time to implement true change. There aren't many managers "worth their salt" available at the moment. That includes Houllier. A reasonable squad?.? Reasonable meaning non-relegation battlers - yes I concur. But anything above is arguable.
  9. I think he's a bit unsettled at Chelsea. I saw him at Bolton and he was a rock. I think he'd stroll into our current side and would be an excellent partner for Cacapa. Taylor on the bench until Beye and Faye return form international duty.
  10. You're a bit like a broken record mate. You may as well save one of you posts on your hard drive, so that you only have to cut and paste each time you post here.
  11. You know what does my head in about Yanks, they'll put "Portland, Oregon" like people are supposed to know Oregon is in USA. I only know it is because of the NIKE factory. Why don't they says Portland, USA? They say London, England, like England has the same significance as a fuckin US state, despite our capital being recognised as THE world capital. Why say London, England? There's no other London. We don't say New York, New York unless we're singing old Frankie's songs. Yanks do my head in. I'm not getting at you mate, but your country does my head in. This Claudio Pitbull, do you really think if he was that good at 26 they'd be sending him on loan. In 12 years, we've went from breaking the World Transfer record on strikers, to spending coppers on players who are loaned out of the second best club in Europe's 9th best league. Americans are arrogant. But also 1 in 5 yanks don't know where America is on the map. Oh, but I must also add America has about 50 Englands in one single country. 50 might be exaggerating a bit but...you know what I mean.

  13. Well said comrade! However like others have said, if we're too close to the relegation zone than he needs to go. But I suppose that's common sense anyway...
  14. Exactly. When Allardyce was alerted to Elano, he was about to sign on the dotted line at Man City as well. We were way too late to go in for him.

  16. In a fantasy world I'd have; Ameobi Carr Ramage Pattison Geremi Emre Owen out in that order of preferences. In fact Ameobi would have already gone by now! The new blood would be; Ibrahimovich Brown Hutton Diarra Christiano Ronaldo Kaka Berbatov But since it isn't a fantasy world and we must try and stick with reality the two out would be Ameobi and Carr. I'd have Arshavin and Brown. Or Fred (Lyon) and Brown.
  17. Conversely the tabloids should shovel there shit with other clubs.
  18. The side is playing with absolutely no cohesion. Language barrier still maybe? At times we still switch off mentally for a few seconds and we concede stupid goals. Our midfield has played with no authority and we are getting bossed by teams who are supposedly inferior to ours. Pressure inevitably leads to us conceding goals.
  19. A pretty good performance. Lots to take out of it. I thought bringing on Rozenhal was a decent move considering N'Zogbia was getting raped and pillaged on the defensive side of things all game. Which begs the question...does Allardyce really not rate Enrique yet? OK he has looked nervous the times he has played but to improve you need the experience, and it's not like we're getting results with Enrique not there. It looks as though the players are firmly behind Allardyce which is the main thing. Some keyboard warriors on here might think otherwise but he's still got the proper backing from those most important. Obviously we were robbed and for a 10-15 minute period early in the second half it looked as though we would push on and score another goal. The first time I've seen Newcastle run a team ragged since the Tottenham game. Long time between drinks that. Allardyce could have opted to go all offensive when Smith was taken off, but for me...six of one and half a dozen of the other. The side looked knackered the last 15 minutes and Chelsea finished the strongest and got a goal that should not have been. I expected a loss and we got one, but the performance was at least promising.
  20. Too risky imo. What if the team continues to struggle. The fickle will turn on him and he'll turn from legend to public enemy number one.
  21. Looks like he's going to jail for certain now. The question is will he have the word HATE tattooed onto his fist and have a few teardrops tattooed onto the side of his face after doing time.
  22. You want me to bore you with a list of managers who are better than Allardyce ? Show us the list you put up last time that included the likes of David Moyes ffs. Like for like. I believe Moyes went through a bit of a rough patch at Everton as well - no doubt if you were following them you would have wanted the fucker out at the time. Weren't you petitioning the name Alex Mcleish at one stage Jimbo?
