I haven't been around for a while - been off my feet with work and family - and I've noticed Alex's account has been culled. What's happened to the man?
  2. Dana White is entitled to his opinions - needless to say they are tongue-in-cheek and probaly in jest. That and they are obviously based on watching shite soccer dished up in his homeland and from his northern neighbours. He'd need to sit down and watch football played on continental Europe and South America and perhaps then re-assess the comments he made. I've got nothing against the UFC or him personally, in fact I'm starting to be won over by MMA - and it is because of White that UFC is fast being recognised as a legitimate sport instead of merely an underground sideshow. Watching Antonio Rodrego Nogieura and Frank Mir back in early December on Pay Per View was probably the best fight I've ever seen in combat sport. Noguiera refused to give up when trapped in an arm-lock and preferred to have his arm twisted to the point where it gave way and snapped. The main event on the same night wasn't too shabby either. Lyoto Machida trapped against the cage in a nasty headlock before being put unconscious and being thrown away like a rag doll - it took me back to my early teens watching Van Damme movies. It was a scene straight out of Bloodsport if it wasn't so real.
  3. Explain yourself, and please don't bring up Shepherd into this one. Thank you in advance. sorry Ken, I've always thought it was shite and hated having to play it at school when I wanted to play football I thought you were having a shot at my comments rather than the sport itself as you were doing. No problem, carry on.

  5. Yup. The Poms are playing too many meaningless games, as are all the premier cricketing nations. The most disorganised, overlapping calender for a sport anywhere in the world rivaling but probably bettering the tennis calender. Who would be up for a test series against a corrupt and dirty nation like Pakistan in a neutral country? I tell you what though, I fancy Australia when we play you next year. I fancy our pace bowlers over yours now, and all are under the age of 22. We also have a decent spin bowler in Nathan Lyon. Our only concern is the middle order. Ricky Ponting and Michael Hussey are no spring chickens and if they don't fire, even with Michael Clarke upping his game since he became captain that could be our achilles' heal. But this Aussie team has transformed so quickly in 12 months, no other country could pull off something like that.
  6. I see that England lost its test series against Pakistan 3-0 in Dubai. Anybody get up early to watch the proceedings? A bit of a shock I must say, losing to Pakistan, particularly with all the turmoil and disgrace that team has endured recently. Unflattering would be a more accurate description, no?
  7. No problem gloomy. Been away for a while, just trying to get acclimatised again. Anyhow, is it supporter or fan for you?
  8. So what?!? What difference does that make? If the production line is a fuck up it doesn't matter what opportunity these hacks have. Poms are the joke of football, not too far behind Italy. Are You Being Served?
  9. Mourinho won't be interested at all, working in an abattoir is a more appealing job than being manager of England. He will however have one eye on the Tottenham job when Harry becomes England manager. Though a fatter salary and an open chequebook may turn his attention the other way to Citeh if Roberto Mancini fails to deliver the Premiership this season.
  10. I'd be happy, I'd be more than happy. Having said that though Ashley has no plan or ambition to build up to something. Fair play he's had good fortune this season and his stars have aligned but his formula of operating is basically a fucking lottery. Every season under his ownership is a toss of the coin job. Heads we win this season, but next season???
  11. Was alleged to have said to Evra, "I kicked you because you are black", to which Evra replied by saying, paraphrasing here of course, how about I punch you in the head? Suarez then came back with, "I don't talk to blacks". The source of that is from FOX Sports here in Australia in the scroll bar running across the bottom of the screen. If those allegations are true that changes everything and makes all those that try to protect this character to be worse than scum, having known the allegations beforehand. <Edit - Ah right, someone else posted it up in the page before which I hadn't read.>
  12. A signed and framed picture of Marco Van Basten. Perfect on the wall, man. Not sure how much that would cost you but surely it wouldn't cost you more than £300. Since you couldn't get one for free you can put those demons to rest...
  13. Keeping in the spirit of Christmas all is forgiven and forgotten there. Ours is nearly over and boy I've not enjoyed a better Christmas day in ages. I hope you all have the same kind of day. Merry Christmas to all you Toontasticites!
  14. What the fuck is this shit? Be careful, you little <enter your skin colour here> man.
  15. That's been the most concerning thing for me - Liverpool's official reaction. That was a fucking disgrace. For an uneducated, hot-tempered, immoral little prick to say what he said is one thing but Dalglish and the other fuckers at the club?!? That's fuckin' criminal!
  16. Aye, he made a racial remark, but racist? Well, it certainly wasn't complementary, I'll say that much. Look, to have an opposing view would be practically be seen as siding with that fat, out-of-touch cunt Blatter. No way, man. Not from me. Different cultures though have different terminology for different things. That's my point. I guess though the underlying thing out of all this is to respect the culture of the country you are in. Simple as that.
  17. Who gives a fuck? Hasn't that been an on-again, off-again debate over the last 6 pages me Oirish friend?
  18. Anyone who brought up such Chrissy epics as Die Hard, Bad Santa, Home Alone, Oliver!, and The Great Escape are people whose great tastes transcend beyond the realms of movie watching. Those that didn't need a good, long, hard look at themselves and re-assess where they are in this life.
  19. Is Suarez racist - does he think he's racially superior? Personally, I don't think so. I just think he's fucking stupid and brought up culturally to think comments like that are acceptable. Just my take on it.
  20. Actually, you said "if there is one beatable side in this league its this one", as Chez points out, regardless of their tactics, the fact that they've kept so many clean sheets indicates that, in fact, they are difficult to beat. Therefore, you're "spouting shite". and an away record of 2 draws and 5 losses prior to coming here is also a fact that points to them being....rather beatable? Therefore you are "spouting shite" Aren't you full up from all those cherries? Your point got lost in translation. In english please Fishy! You're cherry picking "facts" to suit your argument. A team that's kept the most clean sheets cannot be the easiest team in the league to beat. Certainly not when that team is sitting 12th. Well I have to be honest with you, i havent watched many of their games this season. I had a look at their away record, and felt they displayed a rather weak performance at St.James park. Norwich - by comparison - felt by large a better side, obviously hard to compare as that was away and with colo and tiote out - but still. They might not be THE easiest side, but of our games this season - I felt this was indeed one were we by far looked the better side. We didnt manage to score though - that being due to our inability to orchestrate an adequate attack or their ability to defend well - jury still out. Ironically in many of our games that is excactly what the other teams felt. We played shite and looked shite, but still came away with a point. I guess this time it was our turn to get "robbed". Shooting yourself in the foot with that comment. Swansea are a very well coached side who on Saturday showed a lot of respect for a good Newcastle team. Did you seriously expect them to play suicidal all-out-attack away from home? They are a small club with a small budget who were expected to go straight back down at the start of the season. Had you watched Swansea play even once or twice this season, particularly when they play at home you'd realise they are a decent team. They don't play this anti-football shite that Pulis, McCarthy and McLeish promote. They'll attack teams they think they can beat with possession style football that is pleasing on the eye. To do that with a squad of players who the majority had not played at Premiership level, some with barely enough Championship experience, and to pick up results by doing it that way should be commended.
  21. No, he HAS done something wrong, and I'm sure he feels like shit about it. I'm not sure whether in the sober light of day he'll even want that post to stay on here. Check your PM's MF. Of course he feels shit about it. Why did he confide here otherwise? The man was drunk and watched things he otherwise wouldn't have in a sober stae. Notice I said 'watched' as opposed to 'touch'. So long as that was the case whoopy fuckin' do...
  22. You've done nothing wrong - so long as you've not understated what happened - anything happen in the private room you've not stated here?. Otherwise, depending on what happened ofcourse it's a different. But chill, be honest about what you did (if you can) and let us judge on it. 5 responses or so in and you've already been given some common sense approach by a few. Give us more to work with.
  23. For what reason? I just think they're a good team that is missing a goalscorer, I also think they've benefited from not having a large turnover of players in the starting 11 in recent years, it's helped them keep a good understanding on the pitch. If you look at their fixtures coming up they're all winnable until the new year apart from a visit to the Emirates, they seem to have had a tough start in terms of fixtures. Christ it took me an age to find this. Couldn't remember which thread it was in. At least I remembered but anyway; Everton have a thin squad, and it is an aging one - more than half the first team are over 30. The fixtures are coming thick and fast, they won't be getting many wins. Of course I've had the benefit of hindsight since you posted about the topic and Everton failed to win against Norwich. They will be relegation battlers soon enough - like the days of Howard Kendell. I give it two years. Most of their current players, because of their age have no re-sale value, and punting on players with obscure names from obscure leagues will come back to bite them. Other than that they have no source of finance. Fulham and Sunderland will overtake them in the league this season. Everton would have done well to finish in the top half to be truthful.
