  1. Don't be puzzled my geordie, Pardew loving friend. You rate who you want to rate at the end of the day. Obviously you rate Pardew's managerial abilities the way you see fit. That'll give way shortly.
  2. And it is pissing down raining. Sums up this magnificent tour.
  3. Mother's from Newcastle. Father's from a vlillage outside of Glasgow. Sectarianism is fucked up but at least he gave me an original surname. Newcastle Utd is fucked up but at least it has given me some pleasure in my lifetime.
  4. I predicted a 3-0 or 3-1 loss which I would have accepted tbf. I wasn't far off. This runs a bit deeper than what happened yesterday.
  5. He is not the root cause of the club's problems, only a complete and utter fuckwit would think that, but he certainly needs to accept his personal responsibilities. I backed him all throughout last season myself because realistically the club will never attract anybody better qualified. He is the best that the club can have at its present state. But let's not ignore Pardew's deficiencies either - there's no use acquiring highly technical players if you don't know how to best play them collectively. Is there?
  6. And yet again you state the obvious...
  7. Yes, deep down I think most, if not all posters here understand that.
  8. Accepted. But Tooj has made my point. A technical coach who has a certain philosophy and certain system with an eye for talent who develops players.
  9. You don't need to spend yourself into oblivion. Arsene Wenger's done OK on a limited budget. But for all that to happen you need a technical coach that will stay loyal to your club. Roberto Martinez would have been a good target, our club has a larger budget to work with than Everton. Even Glenn Hoddle. A manager who works to a certain football philosophy and certain system. But these things are far beyond the thinking of the club's hierarchy. Newcastle United - Back to the Future.
  10. Let's see; Poyet, Pardew or Kinnear... well at least Poyet has an air of mysteriousness about him with regards to management. We know what the other two can (or can't) do.
  11. Think it'll be a well organised and extremely disciplined performance being the start of the season. Should be a respectable 3-0 or 3-1 loss.
  12. If that's the way you want to be, then so be it. You are a dreamer of past ways anyway I've always felt. I was a fan of German football long before it became fashionable again (2005-06). I think Jap football is the way of the future too (I've said that years ago too). But forget progression. Long live the hatchet man.
  13. No. It's not that Australia doesn't want to win, the will is there, it is the ability to do it. This batting lineup is fucked. On the plus side for Australia - England don't have a genuine all-rounder, and Graeme Swann is just an average bowler. Unfortunately no other weaknesses to report.
  14. I concur. And I 'll cop it from cricket fans, but not blow-ins who know nothing about the game.
  15. That may be a possibility; He sees England's identity dissipating through the advent of the EU - the culling of England's culture by way of immigrant swamping and he's angry. Angry that large grabs of the former empire are left untouched by such political manouvres but the motherland is raped and pillaged. Either way, who gives a fuck - the fifth test starts soon.
  16. I'm a cunt, you're a wanker, we have an abundance of skin cancer sufferers and you liver - it all evens out in the end. Humilty for what? Why should I have any, go into detail.

  18. Well... as Gloomy had articulated in an earlier post, Australia's batting lineup is fucking rubbish. Such a shame (for me) considering how much this England side could have been exploited. It isn't a good side - it's just better than Australia's at the moment.
  19. Spirited comeback that. What a slow and shitty start it was though with the wicket offering nothing, but I think Swann will be licking his lips after watching Lyon do his thing late in the day. Got to get another bottle of scotch, hope the weather holds up there...
  20. Purely subjective, but I thought Huss and Ponting struggled and were no longer to be counted as our backbone last time round. Not that this batting lineup is any better mind but it is a longer one. Our current bowling attack is much better. Look out for Jackson Bird tonight, the lad can play. Your previous backbone of Cook and Trott are struggling a bit which I see as being a bit of an equiliser. As you've said though, Swann coming at us on the fourth and fifth days is a gamebreaker which is why I don't see us having any chance if we're batting second. Should be a ripper, I'm staying in tonight and have a beer-beef stew in the slow cooker and I've bought a bottle of Highland Park to sip on during the night. And I bought some (mixed) cigars online last week (don't know why, I'm no regualr puffer of them) but I can't wait to get stuck into a Cuban Bolivar Havana. I've just got myself into one of those moods.
  21. The positive is that there is a very quick turnaround before you lot come over here and test yourselves on our wickets. Then we'll see where things really are, silicon or no silicon.
  22. This Aussie team is far from great, but it is better than the one that graced England's shores previously, and conversely this England team is not as good as the previous one also. I stand by the affirmation that whoever wins the toss will win the match. Obviously the weather prevented that from happening for Australia in the 3rd test. Winning the toss is the most crucial part of the game between these two teams right now.
  23. The DRS is there for a reason - players don't need to do the gentlemanly thing anymore - and Broad was within his rights to stand his ground. As for the Khawaja deision - that was tantamount to cheating. What else can you say about that? And I'd rather keep our PM out of all this. He is a bellend - a supposed progessionist who is sending assylum seekers and economic refugees to a tribal third world country for resettlement, based upon an agreement written up on two little pages. He also eats his ear wax. True story, Youtube it...
  24. While it was great to have once-in-a-generation players like Warne and McGrath, I much prefer to see a genuine contest, whereby both teams have a genuine ability to do one on the other. At the moment it is coming down to who wins the toss that decides who has the upper hand (disregarding the way in which we lost in the 2nd test).
