I think my expectations of Boardwalk Empire were maybe too high. It was beautifully shot but it just seemed a tiny bit sterile to me, it never really caught me up completely. I really like Steve Buscemi, but I don't think he convinced me he was Nucky - I was always aware of the acting. I did like the Widow Schroder though
