The Republicans are playing a linger game here. They aren't expecting to get Trump to overturn the result, but they will use the chaos to further their ramp up their voter suppression and gerrymandering the districts. As long as they have control of the senate they can obstruct any democratic president, and then they will win easily in 2024. For now a Right wing Democrat president and control of the senate is their ideal outcome. Trump has done his job

So I just watched the first episode of the remake. Thinking it is better than the original is akin to thinking a Vesta Beef Curry is the best form of Indian food

I had heard the US remake was a pale imitation of the original, but now I might give it a whirl. I will report back, but it sounds to me you weren't quite clever enough to understand the original withot being spoonfed a watered down version

If the Dems don't sweep this election, give Puerto Rico and Washington statehood and pack the Supreme Court, then USA election going forward will be about as fair as Russia's

They've still got three months after the election to force it through no matter what happens. The Supreme Court will have a 6-3 crazy right wing majority for the next generation. The only possible chance the Dems have got is if Biden wins and they flip the senate and have the guts to increase the number of judges on the Supreme Court.

As I think I've mentioned before my daughter works for PHE and her job is literally collating the infection/death statistics for the South East and presenting to the Emergency Response committee amongst others. I've just got off the phone and she is beyond frustrated as she says everybody is just saying exactly the same things they said at the same stage of first cycle, and making exactly the same mistakes Current drivers of infection are household to household, followed by school and office. Everyone ar her place is in full voluntary lockdown, and they have all the information

That's a bit more hopeful, but if testing is finding more instances earlier, and if younger people are driving the increase it's possible the more vulnerable havent caught it yet, then its possible the lag might be longer. Hope I'm wrong but I think it's going to get a lot worse before long

One of my workers is on holiday in Greece. On Monday the island he was on got added to the quarantine list. He tried to fly back early but flights were were 900 quid each. Instead he got a boat to mainland Greece on Monday and arranged a flight from a non quarantined area. So he arrives back on Thursday but I can't work out whether by the rules he has to quarantine or not. Waiting for the compliance dept to let me know.

If China had manufactured the virus to attack it's economic enemies I would imagine the optimal tactic would be to release it in say New York or Los Angeles or London rather than Wuhan. Seems a silly strategic error to release your man made killer plague in your own country
