  1. From the football clubs point of view it raises their profile in the middle east Asia and south America. Its all about being a global brand. It's pointless ignoring the fact we're owned by PIF , that's not going away, but this is more about marketing the club than "sportswashing". It seems to be sportswashing is exaggerated as a motive the the Saudi rulers. They don't give much of a toss what the West thinks, they've got oil so they've got money so they've got power. This is all about consolidating their money and power, that's what motivates them, not what football fans think of their politics
  2. With all the usual caveats about the disgusting rulership of Saudi, I actually don't have a problem with this or infact the Saudi-like change kits. Leadership aside Saudi has a young football crazy 36 million population. It makes total sense to me to position the club to make us the team of choice for that audience. Saudi isn't just about MBS as revolting as he is, I'd much rather be associating us with the gen pop Lfc and man ufc have benefited hugely from getting to the asian market first, SA is a huge marketplace we would be mugs to ignore
  3. Talking of Brighton he's not exactly flying under the radar, but I hope Ashworth has his hooks into Ferguson, that kids going to be a monster
  4. That sounds like a great fucking day. I watched it and what a performance!! Breathtaking
  5. I think (choose to believe) that when she was using "his excellency" on the phone it was to emphasise to Everton that there could be no negotiation as the boss had spoken so out of her control. The honorific reinforced the idea that was the final offer and no room for compromise. Made me cringe though
  6. She's reviled by the right wing because she took the knee, stood up for minorities, and against Trump, and spoke her mind while being unapologetically gay. Past her best at this tournament, but not her fault she got selected. She's a hero imo
  7. Agreed. It's great so far we've kept so obediantly and vocally to the rules, and still barnstormed the top table. But it'll be fucking superb when we start buying the likes of Mbappe Bring on the Big 2
  8. Jamie Reid - gave punk it's own visual identity
  9. Athletic article https://archive.ph/tZSeK
  10. I don't really watch the MTB so don't know much about. Going to tune in for this though
  11. Watched it live, what a group of 4 that was. Great stuff Milan San Remo, Paris Roubaix and 2 rainbow jerseys. Quite the season
  12. The thing about Burn is with Trippier bombing forward so much we quite often are almost playing 3 at the back which Burns ability as a centre half allows. I think his versatility and intelligence is underrated, and he is not really playing as a traditional left back in a flat back 4
  13. And of course Labour refusing to be an opposition. If they said they would revoke the licenses then they wouldn't happen. Complicit or useless? - same outcome
  14. 4 Tommy Gibb 5 Bobby Moncur 6 Ollie Burton Sorted
