  1. He always sounds surprisingly eloquent when I have heard him, if you ignore the accent. I heard a couple of interviews at mancity which surprised me at the time. I thought he would be a typical mug but he had some good stuff to say. I was quite pleased when he signed because of this. He does seem to be a complete heedtheball on occasion though - I think he might be intelligent to grow out of it, assuming he doesnt get banged up of course. If he can curb the off field stupidity and violence he will be a hell of a player, if he doesnt he will end up inside
  2. I have no idea how this game is going to go. I wouldnt be surprised to see them turning us right over (years of bitter experience), a hard fought negative game ending in a dull draw, us turning on some style and knocking in a hatful, I havent got a scoobie what is going to happen. I am quite enjoying the lack of expectation tbh
  3. One of the things I was looking forward to this season was seeing what Sam would do with the little fella, interesting to see what sort of performances Sam would get from him. He is slowing down a bit obv, but when he is on top of a game he has been a joy to watch. However he is a bit past his best, I am a bit old to get to that bothered about players these days, if he stays good if he goes thanks, bye, move on. He certainly isn't the future of the club. btw my first post on the forum was this picture edited for picture accuracy
  4. aah fuckit. I am to old to keep up these days. I better get the boy to download it for me
  5. fucker, missed it - has the new series started?
  6. Horatio always looks like he's smelling his own farts. He does, I can't stand CSI: Miami for that very reason, CSI: Vegas is best. Wow you are so wrong, Horatio is the
  7. I had a party for my 30th birthday in Amsterdam. Sarah Cracknell was there and there was a photo of me and her partying it up in the 100th anniversary issue of Marie Claire which came out the next month
  8. I'd define that as making him fully responsible. Why did he ask for it? - for exactly the reason we are now finding out - so it would be easier for him to leave when it suited him. Continuing the analogy from above if a girl way out of your league agreed to go out with you on the basis that you dropped all your mates, burned all your CDs and gave up watching football then yes, its your "stupid" fault for being so desperate to agree to it but that doesn't make her less of a bitch. She also had a headache all the time so you only got 12 shags in two years, then she got her pals to write notes to the other boys saying "my mate fancies you"
  9. Rest easy lads, apparently Ashley posts on here as The Northumbrian
  10. If there's nothing to say then why would both the chairman and manager come out and comment on it? Because the press are continually pressing them for a comment. I doubt very much that Allardyce picked up a phone, called a journalist and told him that straight out. The question will have been put to him. When was the last time Owen was interviewed and asked specifically about his position at NUFC? I'd be very surprised if the media didn't want to ask him about his future while on England duty, he had ample opportunity then to deny the stories but obviously warned them against questioning him on it. Exactly. It's unusual and a bit suspect when you ban all NUFC related questions. So you know for sure that he banned all questions about NUFC being asked?? Surely that would be a media story in itself. More likely that the national press are more interested in asking him about England while he's on duty for them. I don't remember them quizzing Lampard about his position at Chelsea which is equally in question - do you think he banned them too? Ater his radio5 interview the interviewer said that they were told in advance no questions about NUFC Probably wanted to concentrate on the matter in hand than the one back at home - first competitive game back and all.... Not wanting to talk about something does not automatically state that there is a negative reason for it. As has been said, he's under contract. If he's going to break that contract, he's going to HAVE to open his mouth. Until he does so, he's our player - if we keep pushing him, we'll probably drive him out. He obviously wants to leave for a top four club, but he doesnt HAVE to open his mouth at all, he can get his journalist friends to do that. Its not a case of us driving him out at all. To think he his not orchestrating much of the press coverage is very niave Having said that if he doesnt get the move he wants at least he is proffesional enough to not let it affect his performance.

  12. I find myself surprisingly unconcerned by wether the little Welsh twerp stays or goes. If he stays I am sure he will be a modelpro, If we can sell him at least we wont have to put up with the constant flow of his friends in the press touting for a move
  13. Freddy saves face and retires "due to ill health" within a few months. The last couple of weeks have been sensational. The Newcastle United soap opera is truly a magnificent thing
  14. he's lost that loving feeling
  15. I used to really enjoy BB, but cant be bothered anymore, but it does amuse me how annoyed it makes people
  16. quality Me uncle is the best hider in the north-east
  17. The baby in one hand and an iron in the other sounds like a recipe for disaster
  18. whiningliest hardman- is that a golfball
  19. The behaviour of England fans has had a lot to do with peoples apathy towards England, much in the same way as the behaviour of Liverpools fans has lead to todays rejoicing
  20. The way I explained it at work today to a "football fan" who couldn't understand why I wanted them to lose was "You've obviously never seen your team play them, you've never been to Anfield to see your team play with all that involves off the pitch and most of all you don't remember what utter, utter bastards they were when they were top dogs". I'm not sure what your point is. I've seen them play at Anfield, as a neutral and against us. Never had any problems, in defeat or victory. I know you have a certain amount of bitterness towards Liverpool, for me the irony is I'll be the one treated as the odd one for wanting a fellow Northern team to do well, not you for preferring an Italian one to do well. Oh well, never mind, hoped you enjoyed Kaka's latin religious sentiments. I didnt know Kaka had signed for Athletico

Oh well, never mind, hoped you enjoyed Kaka's latin religious sentiments. God gave him the talent to play football but made him stupid enough to believe. I've never understood an "affinity with northerners" as you suggest - to me they were just other teams - the Hartlepools and Darlos meant nothing and I always had proper reasons to hate the ones I actually encountered eg Leeds and Sheff Weds. I know you have personal reasons for "liking" them - joking aside - and I suppose I should confess my secret as well - my brother supports them. It was actually him more than my Dad who "raised" me as a Newcastle fan but then he defected in 76 - the ultimate in treason. That is a factor but I stand by what I said - the dealings I've had with them over the years has left me not trusting them. They live the stereotype. My boss at work is Irish and supports them (he's seen them play once a West Ham this year). His brother however goes to a lot of games and couldn't get a ticket for tonight so came over to Liverpool to watch it. My boss said he'd booked the trip until Monday because he wanted to watch the victory bus tour - summed up the bastards for me. I feel your pain, my brother used to support Newcastle and has defected. He is there tonight...... lol
  22. This day just keeps getting better and better
