In doing so so it is far easier to make it clear to incoming players that, similarly, they are here to serve the interests of the club. To wit, that there be more emphasis on this aspect of the transaction than the fuck-off sky high weekly salary routinely on offer which has made us a complete anomoly amongst the bottom half clubs, without any marked progress for several years, and which gives the new player every indication that we are a total fucking joke. There was loads of great McNulty stuff, esp the lengths he went to screw Rawls, and the hooker scene. The closing montage was for me one of the most powerful parts of the whole 5 seasons. I dont know if it caught me in a particularly bleak moment, but the feeling of futility and despair it gave did for me completely. I get it; the Newspaper (industry) isnt as good it used to be, but thats more down to the internet & 24 hour news tv than the corporate rulers of America. The previous series were about big themes, big out of control corrupt institutions, the police,the political system, education, the unions and how they failed the people who they were supposed to help, and destroyed the people who worked in them To me the Newspaper didnt seem important enough to hang a series on.

It's been boring for ages now iyam. Not a new / recent thing. tbh the match was mainly dull with breif bursts of not so dull for years before kk turned up as manager. The last three months of "that season" wasnt boring but was the least enjoyable period of football Ive ever experienced. I think I enjoyed the day most when the football was gray and depressing, but the day out was always great

This echoes my experience exactly - my brother was there(in the stands thank fuck) and I was at WHL which was terrifying. It was the nature of football fans in those days,but Liverpool had so many big games in those days that their fans were more adept at bunking in than anyone else.

That is the truly frightening thing - the depth of incompetence that keeps being demonstrated by Ashley Llambias Wise, whichever of them is making decisions is astounding. There seems to be absolutely no understanding of our position, what is needed for the future or how to get there. Leadership is completely absent, no one is responsible for anything, and the recent attempts at communication have been almost worse than the silence that preceeded it. I genuinely am worried for the future of the club, probably more so if Ashley isnt trying to asset strip and turn a profit. If he thinks the current situation and management of it is anywhere near satisfactory he is completely deluded
