  1. For those who ain't seen applications are now needed for this one: From .com: Sat 01.10.05 Portsmouth (a) @ 3pm, Fratton Park. Premiership. ST applications by 06.09.05 £30 adults, £22 OAPs, £19 bairns.
  2. I stopped last season including Newcastle in any of my bets because you could always rely on them to do something to affect it
  3. Fulham (h)......................................Win no question. Blackburn (a)..................................Should win, but knowing us possibly draw. Man City (h)....................................Win, if we can't beat these we have problems they are rivals for a European spot. Portsmouth (a).................................Wouldn't be too upset with a draw, have the team though to beat them as they are struggling. Sky PPV Wigan (a).............................Win no question. Sky PPV mackems (h).........................Win no question or mutiny will reign West Brom (a)..................................Win, relegation fodder. Birmingham (h).................................Win no question.
  4. As I understand it, and as others have said, our loan was to rebuild the two stands to increase our stadium to 52,000 so the added revenue from this goes back to paying that off and then future profit. Therefore, our investment was in bricks and mortar, and not players as in Leeds' conditional upon future success. We've also budgeted to miss out on Europe and go out of the cups at the first hurdles, so that anything above this is a bonus. These past two years we've missed out on the Champions League our profits went down, but we still made a profit. Ultimatly I also think Shepherd is a good businessman and he knows how to balance the books. I think he's too tight to get us in serious debt and hamper his investment which NUFC is to him.
  5. I admire your optimisim but I don't think the atmsophere will be up to much.
  6. At the very least I expect 7 points from September. Two home wins and a win at Blackburn possibly a draw depending on how we handle their aggressive combativeness. Portsmouth is always tough at their gaff. The rest you list as well we should all beat or at the very least not get beat ourselves.
  7. That's part of the reason why I think he'd be a good manager, in that he could attract all sorts of top names to sign for him due to his reputation.
  8. Despite my regret at re-signing Solano, a midfield of Luque-Emre-Parker-Solano and Owen and Shearer up front is actually a bloody good team, if we can get them all fit at once.
  9. 0-0 pretty much nailed on. We don't score goals.
  10. We watched him play and were not impressed with what we saw. Poor article, making up shite.
  11. Makes sense, it sounded like a foreign accent
  12. Nice to read your thoughts. It actually came as a suprise to me that Shepherd didn't play games this time and slapped a bid in right away. I think it was the Alan Shearer factor that clinched the deal at our end. I did expect him to sign for Liverpool. Having said that I rate Cisse and am suprised it was him who you tried to sell. What about Morientes? He's looked poor every time I've seen him so far.
  13. Day off for me tomorrow so I'll go down and get amongst it then gan for a few pints
