Midway through 3rd season, in all the cups still & in 6th. In January transfer window, Dyer went to Liverpool for £10m, and in came Ben Arfa (£14.25m from Lyon), and Simao (£10m from Betis).

I want all the English teams to get to the Quarters/Semis/Final, then get hammered. That way, we don't get them bragging, and it keeps our UEFA co-efficient up for next time we have a chance of getting into Europe.

Not that easy though when there's only 3 other lads on the course.

I don't miss out socially though. I still go out in Newcastle on a Thursday & Saturday, but with people who I've been friends with for ages and will be friends with in the future, not a bunch of people I don't really like and probably will never see again when I graduate.

I'm a student, and try to avoid them if possible. Get the Metro to Uni, go to lectures, get the Metro back home and meet with my original mates. Easy!

Just looking back at this, and people worrying about the "Owen bid" preventing us signing Anelka cheaply.

After all if they're are the difference between success and failure, then by definition both Blackburn and Portsmouth should finish the season above us.... 40090[/snapback] But we've signed even better players than those in their positions. If we can't even match at least 5th position (our worst when Bellamy & Robert were regulars), we've had a bad year IMO.

And then in the campaign where one was in and out of the side, and the other was out of the side in January, we slipped back to bottom-half mediocrity.

Now if you'd said, "Dyer to Rangers", we might have believed it a bit more before we opened the thread....tbh.

Well if you added the number of goals & assists he's been involved with this season at Portsmouth to our tally, we'd be 3rd.

He's a proper player.
