  1. Unbelievable really. People were crucifying Shepherd in 2003 for "keeping the powder dry", after having spent over £50m in the few years leading upto that with very little European football. Now we've spent a lot to try and get us back into Europe, he's STILL getting slaughtered!
  2. New legend discovered from Cruzeiro. 16 year-old Jonathas. Unfortunately, you're unable to buy him until he's 18.
  3. If you called that our "full side", I worry for the futures of Carr, Boumsong, Dyer, Emre, Luque & Owen. I'm sure if we'd played someone like Chelsea last night he'd have played Emre & Boumsong, and maybe risked Owen & Dyer. He picked a side to win the match, we did that. We never looked like losing at any stage of that match.
  4. Cheers, tried that but still getting the same problem.
  5. Maybe, although I don't think he did any better than Ramage, Babayaro & Bramble defensively, they were all solid IMO, while Babayaro was also good going forward linking up with N'Zogbia which is why I think he deserved a 7. Faye was solid in midfield, can't remember one bad pass, and even looked lively going forward...borderline 8 for him, while N'Zogbia was dangerous and caused problems. Parker & Solano did their jobs without excelling. Chopra would have got a 5 but for his assist which was great vision, while Shearer would have got a 6 but for his goal.
  6. I had a problem with my computer before, and since I've sorted it out, when I go to play in the arcade, I get a white box with a tiny box in the top left corner with three coloured shapes instead of the game. Any tips please?
  7. Given 6 - Nothing to do Babayaro 7 - Looked bright linking up with N'Zogbia Ramage 6 - Solid at the back, poor in the final third Taylor 6 - A few shaky moments, but solid enough Bramble 6 - See Taylor Solano 6 - Quiet night N'Zogbia 7 - Most likely to create something Faye 7 - One of his best performances in a Newcastle shirt Parker 6 - Did a job in midfield Shearer 7 - Much more like it Chopra 6 - Not Premiership class, but did well for the goal
  8. It's been a mixture of some brilliant serving from Murray, and a lot of unforced errors from Henman so far,
  9. A man of mystery? No. Not really. 49558[/snapback] More of a techtonic plate tbh.
  10. If Gerrard's 20-yarder hit Row Z against Olympiakos last winter (which 99 times out of 100 would have done), I bet opinion of him would much much different.
  11. Benitez most over-rated manager ever? I think he's the sort of manager who could make a title contender out of a very good team on the continent, but he seems out of his depths over here.
  12. Just had a £7.5m bid for N'Zogbia from Chelsea!
  13. Just played my first game away to Charleroi. The injury curse has already struck with Ameobi, Babayaro, Carr & Luque all out injured already! Played 3-5-2 with, Given; Moore (who's class!!), Boumsong, Taylor; N'Zogbia, Solano, Emre, Parker, Dyer; Owen, Shearer, and won 5-2.
  14. Cris has been outstanding this year for Lyon. Along with Juninho, he's been one of the main reasons they've walked/are walking away with the French title & doing well in Europe.
  15. What are Taylor & N'Zogbia like on the game?
  16. (but no Carr) I think the team tomorrow will be something like... GK - Harper RB - Ramage LB - Babayaro CB - Bramble CB - Taylor RM - Solano LM - N'Zogbia CM - Clark CM - Faye CF - Chopra CF - Ameobi Given, Boumsong, Emre, Dyer, Shearer
  17. No, but I did have to pick a chip up off the floor off him, sloppy get!
  18. Yep, the legend that is Mike Hooper came into Little Chef tonight and had fish and chips.
  19. Bollocks bollocks bollocks Bollocks bollocks bollocks Bollocks bollocks bollocks Bollocks bollocks bollocks Was all set to make my 2nd appearance...only to go to Sports Bar and not see this thread progress. Ah well, I'm sure there'll be a next time I get a match off work.
  20. 6's for Given, Carr, Boumsong, Parker & Shearer 7 for Taylor & N'Zogbia 8's for Ramage, Emre, Solano & Ameobi
  21. We've had injuries. 2000-1 season we lost Dabizas, Shearer, Dyer & Cort for very long spells which cost us...we finished 11th. The following season he hit lucky with injuries (except late on losing Bellamy), and we finished 4th. I'd like to see Souness at least given the same chance.
  22. Top keeper is Craig Gordon. Think Palermo have been looking at him too. Didn't Souness lead a consortium a few years back trying to buy Hearts?
