He's actually a good manager though. He took Cagliari from Serie C to Serie A, won two Italian Cups with Fiorentina, made Valencia the team they were late 90s, and did pretty well with Chelsea. Plus he speaks Italian, English, and broken Spanish, which you can see in his dossier on www.wewantthetinkerman.com.

Or you could look at it positively and see that since August 2004, Real Madrid spent 14m on him, have paid a shitload on getting him match-fit and he's had top class experience in training alongside some world class players, and in August 2006, that 14m has been spent on bringing in Boumsong, and Woodgate back, so we've not really lost anything.

To be fair to Hugo, look at the quality of players he's competing with for a place in the Valencia side. Here, he'd be immediate back-up to Emre and taken in mind his injury record, he'd probably play more often than not.

Which makes you wonder why he doesn't take any for us. Would bring about an element of surprise if everyones expecting Shearer or Solano, and instead Faye curls one in.
